  1. I liked Dom too. He was a bright spot there for us for a couple of seasons. 94 games for us, not to father/son I’ll ignore the trade that got him to us but upon leaving we got Preuss and the pick that became Marty Hore. Preuss left and gave us the pick that gave us Fraser Rosman So Dom Tyson (retired) = Hore + Rosman
  2. I was sad to see Jack leave the Club. He was loyal, provided some highlights and there were few other players I’d want kicking for me to save the house. Having said that he would not get within a bulls roar of this current Melbourne side. Every player has to play team defence and every player dedicated to the team not the individual. Plus we made out like bandits scoring Fritsch in return for Watts
  3. Considering the quality of basketballers at the club I’m pretty sure he is just winding up his mates.
  4. McRae seems to be universally respected and his appointment viewed as a good decision* * until they lose the first two games of next season
  5. I want to play Geelong and I want to beat Geelong. None of this Paul Keating ‘doing them slowly’ nonsense either. I want it over by 1/4 time and to pull away from there. I want it to be emphatic. I want to run them off their feet. For Oliver to run Selwood stupid and to see the look in Dangerfields eyes when he realises that there will be no fairytale flag for him. It will be obvious to one and all that their era is over, forever done and dusted, and we, Melbourne, landed the knockdown punch. Aside from that I’m not that fussed.
  6. Keeping in mind that our young kids dominate bench time, as a Brisbane player you must know all hope is lost when you glance at our bench in the last quarter and see Oliver, Petracca, Gawn and May sitting on it.
  7. 31. Bailey Fritsch, the Coldstream Cougar …. That’s a new one!!
  8. Looking forward to watching the 4 other teams pummelling the poo out of each other next weekend while we kick back and recuperate.
  9. BT. “Buddy’s got 995 to go” About the same as James Jordan then
  10. So you say Cerra doesn’t tackle, can’t win the ball, can’t kick or score? Perfect fit for the old, dark navy Blues then.
  11. Rnd 22 1987 and the following 2 finals. This era could finally top it though.
  12. If I had of known they were giving out Melbourne scarves at the ground I would have donated my collection. I feel like I’d have one for the first 3,000 through the turnstiles
  13. In 2013 anything under a ten goal loss I took as a moral victory. We have come a long way.
  14. Nice article on Harrison Petty. You’d think the eventual heir apparent to Steven May’s spot. In the meantime doing a brilliant as the third wheel. Has really good hands https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/1007940/the-third-wheel-back-up-backman-playing-his-role
  15. I like Maynard and he would make us better. However I would rather use whatever space is left in the cap or draft position to target a mid. I think it is a bigger priority for us
  16. Whereas since Rnd 15 we have played 5 top 8 sides (Bombers, GWS, Port, Dogs and Cats). Six if you include the Eagles in Perth who were in the 8 at the time. It has to be better to have that run than a whole lot of easy games, doesn’t it?
  17. I was 256 days old. The Grand final in 1964 was apparently on September 19
  18. Not really having a crack at Stanley. Maxy juggled the ball a bit, any player could have at least bumped him. Hawkins is a huge unit and he was doing FA in that play. I hate Hawkins so I blame him. Honestly it could be the beginning of the end of this Cats era and it’s all Tom Hawkins fault.
  19. And topping off the perfect night - No injuries
  20. Agree, great kick from Lever. But then how the Cats left the biggest man on the ground on his own, in space, when every player was in our fwd 50 is mind blowing.
  21. At Adelaide Oval Melbourne 7 wins 5 losses Brisbane 2 wins 6 losses
  22. How good to wake up this morning and your first thought is of last nights game. Bliss
  23. Love how it is after midnight and there are still 86 members on here.
  24. Also agree but I’m fairly philosophical about it. Between our lack of injuries this year, timely injuries to opposition players and other results often falling our way this is about as lucky as I can remember us being. So much so I have dropped the toast on the floor a couple of times just to make sure it still landed butter side down.
