  1. For me the win last night was as impressive as the Nth Melbourne game. A true 4 quarter effort. Bring that intensity and we will be difficult to beat. At least they know they can match it with the best sides. Should give them confidence Edit. So I agree with everything you said P-man!
  2. Best Hanks. Footy IQ and skills are a step above everyone else’s L. Pearce. Looks like she is working out what she is capable of. Lots of touches around the ground amd that mark and goal in the square was fantastic Zanker. Hats off to Stinnear for putting her in the centre square rotation. Too big and strong for opposition mids to deal with. If she could just hang onto her marks she could be anything Gay. It is a great situation to be in when your 4th option mid gets 20 disposals, 3 marks and 5 tackles. Also one of our top half dozen kicks in the side Paxman. Paxman game. Takes the right option Sherriff. I was surprised by how good she was. Really reliable defender Hore. Thought she was a bit lucky with the free kicks but they were there and she kicked 3 goals Great team effort overall
  3. At least we are competing and still look a chance. I was concerned that they were a level above
  4. And we did beat Richmond just last week. Too early for wrist slashing
  5. Agree re your not shaky assessment, we need her back From the MFC website “Meg Downie will need another week before she’s in contention to return from a high ankle sprain”
  6. Dom went to North for more opportunities as we had enough inside mids We got Brayden Pruess in return Brayden went to GWS for pick 31 Pick 31 ended up as pick 34 on the night that nabbed us Fraser Rosman So trading Dom Tyson eventually got us Fraser Rosman (I think this is all correct)
  7. Agree with your side Werridee Perhaps Sloane the other one who could come in when fully fit but having been injured for so long it is hard to know how good or otherwise she is. We also seem to lack small forwards; Zanker, Parry, Scott, Cunningham are all marking forwards and you could chuck Hore onto that list as well.
  8. 12 hours later plus a sleep, and I still think that was the best game of AFLW that has been played.
  9. Yeah, yeah it’s only half way through the round but I’ll take it
  10. Bloody hell they were keen to get Rivers weren’t they! Thanks for that walk down Memory Lane Nascent.
  11. Well aside from Downie this is close to our best side. Will be really interesting to see how close we are
  12. Now that both B Brown and Weideman are out I think Tom McDonald will be relishing the opportunity
  13. Don’t be sad Jaded. Keep the faith All I saw initially was “Key Demon sidelined”. I was expecting much worse. Weed probably not in my top 15 of important players.
  14. Bloody good speech. Collingwood is a far better Club for his tenure
  15. Well that’s pretty exciting as the best of Charlie Spargo is pretty good.
  16. Agree Ellie McKenzie is going to be a good player but then Richmond will have to put some effort into our #15 pick, Eliza McNamara who got 18 touches on debut and was probably in the top half dozen players on the ground. I would not be surprised if she ends up our first 100 game player. Go Dees!
  17. Loving watching our jumper run around. Love the half time lead. Go Dees!
  18. I think it is a bloody good thing. Players need to be protected, even if, just from themselves. Long term effects can be scary. They need time to recover. Having said that now watch Petracca suffer from a concussion in the final few minutes of the 2021 Prelim
  19. Agree that Downie would be a big loss if she doesn’t get up.
  20. When: Saturday 30th January Time: 2.10pm (AEST) Where: Metricon Stadium Weather: 28°, scattered showers, lightish breeze https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/853720/three-debutants-confirmed-for-round-1 (With apologies to Megs who posted the same article in another thread) It will be great to watch the 3 debutants running around this weekend. Bannon from all reports is a good mark but is also lightning quick for a 177cm tall. Was somewhat of a slider to overall 5th pick. Eliza McNamara is very small and light whilst Fitzsimon has been easily Gippsland’s best NAB player. Full team to be posted on Friday I’m very much looking forward to seeing the red and blue jumper running around again this weekend.
  21. Project player? Kozzie is still in his teens! The kid had 20 scoring shots in 14 games in his debut year. If he had kicked 13.7 instead of 7.13 there would be no one questioning his value
  22. Perhaps 58er was thinking of the well travelled James Cook. He definitely didn’t play AFL
  23. If you’ve got 5 mins of holiday time this is well worth a watch. Brown is one of my all time favourite non Melbourne players
  24. Brilliant to get Jason on the podcast boys. Really looking forward to hearing it. Thanks
