  1. It depends on if we make full free agency ect available, i cannot see it helping the MFC thats for sure. I like the draft and think it does its job
  2. He mad errors, but nothing greater than the whole. He tried hard, looks to be building his confidence imo. Saw something in him when he kicked that goal, and it was pretty nice, not getting carried away because he showed his flaws also but he manoeuvres a little bit more like how we know he "can" to get in a position to kick the goal.
  3. Big time, we will get another boost when Sylvia comes back. Is hard winning games with 3 of your top 6 possession winners missing, Gys is 6th i believe
  4. I think you need to do an update to get rid of it
  5. Ok i agree with you, but when you say he will pick a player if he thinks he is a clear standout is wrong imo. I dont think a recruiter will have that authority, he will try and push his point but i doubt he would ever go against the opinon of the overall FD
  6. This i doubt, it will be the FD to makes decisions, this includes the head of recruiting. but i doubt it is an individual of any varieties choice. Was it brought up that Daniher asked for a KPP "Molan" in the end, when Cameron knew he wasnt best available at the time? this was definitely a coaches decision, *if true* I am arguing that it is not *just* Barry to blame but Bailey and Daniher and all the past FD who gave him the scope to recruit players for game plans which are outdated
  7. What do you think his job is robbie? He cant be allowed to just pick best available all the time, as a list has many needs, and best available may be one dimensional? The FD will tell him yeah if someone is a stand out we take him, if not we need this type of player who are they, are they around that range. A recruiter doesnt get compromised just because they dont get 100% control, i would assume that they are scoping players for a particular game plan or profile all the year.
  8. Agree, we need about 3-4 decent midfielders, another frawley type backman, and one of Watts and Cook to develop as the forward target, but midfielders more than both of those
  9. I think that BP or any recruiters job will be to build profiles on all draftee's, then do rankings of who are THE best players in order for example. Then on draft day they will see who available at each pick, is the clear "best" available? is therea need within a few picks? what types of players do we need? are they around our pick? Then the coach will have an input and a decision will be made, imo by the coach on who we need and it is the upto the recruiting team to pick these players. Simply picking the best avaialable with every pick may mean you end up with 40 midfielders, obviously never going to happen. So when do you start to focus on needs ect, who's decision is it to make this call ect? I think the recruiter will advise the coaching staff and the coach on who is available at certain points, they will play out mock drafts ect, situations and know who they want at each point in the draft. The recruiter will never have free reign on the recruiting of a club, so how can they be singled out, this is my biggest point i imagine
  10. The one thing that may put clubs off if we finish 3rd for example is the go home factor, and that they may lose Lachie Whitfield ect I think we would take the better pick if Viney is 3-4 picks off where he is meant to go and we are getting screwed, then Viney making his return in 2 seasons I would expect he would make this clear and that we WILL do it to other clubs
  11. People saying that he dropped a mark which cost goals ect, Watts dropped a mark and he is meant to have the hands of god. Jamar making suicide handballs.... Grimes and rivers kicked directly to richmond forwards from a kick in.........fruck....he made some mistakes but EVERYBODY did yesterday one game and people want to right players off..... give them some time unless they are the worst that week, which Cale wasnt
  12. People will be talking about the deficit in disposal counts, but in the end, Neeld isnt teaching us the kick it around game, it is down the line to a contest, winning contests ect We will never have huge numbers playing the way we have these first 3 weeks, maybe in the future but atm it is about making contests and winning them. fair to say we arnt good ta this atm
  13. because he was still better on current form than a number of people who played against west coast last week Thats where were at
  14. here is a link, his disposal efficiency was at 82% which is very high. http://live-footy.heraldsun.com.au/StatsCentre/Index/20120320120140302 cant comment on only uncontested by i would have thought it was equally high if his average was 82% have fun with the filth
  15. im pretty sure he is already a part time coach at GWS
  16. Moloney and Sylvia will be 2 huge ins imo People had a crack at Moloney but i reckon he would have helped today, and Sylvia's worste is alot better than what a saw from a heap of blokes today
  17. My biggest issues were the clearances and midfield work all day. -lack of tackling -handballing it to stationary targets -especially in the 3rd -Jamar offers nothing around the ground, and isnt winning the taps well I thought the zones when we could set up were strong, in the first half anyway -it is when we dont have time to set up that players get caught out I think we are beginning to get it, we kept them in the game in the first half with a couple of loose handballs which resulted in goals then the 3rd was obviously a disaster. Is sad when Watts and Howe are played on the ball and our your 2 best players on the ground......both meant to be hald forwards atm in honesty, with quality mids adding to the mix. But i agree, we were blown away in the 3rd which makes everything look worse than it may be
  18. Coached the defence and turned it into [censored] then gets given an average midfield and somehow makes it worse than it was....... seriously, he has the opposite to midas touch
  19. Was far from our worst, atleast he got his hands on the pill.... more than half the team today
  20. Howe -6 Watts-5 Clark-4 Jones-3 Trengov-2 Mckenzie-1
  21. the point was that we are in different places atm because they had started their rebuild at that stage, Kreuxer was the last piece of the puzzle. Then the climb back up
  22. They had already tanked there way to Murphy and Gibbs, then Kreuzer they were at teh end of the bottoming out cycling. We were just beginning it, probably unintentionally
  23. Why wouldnt they force us to use pick 3? they kow we are as close to obligated as you can be..... never give your opposition a favour..... Also if it isnt our first non compo pick it is our second round pick
  24. Or just tell him to curb his amazing skills haha ala WC and Darling........
  25. Beat me to it Olisik, this would be a very hard decision for the MFC to make imo..... we wont finish 2nd last but pick 3 is still a huge pick to assign to a father son unless you are sure he is that good, and our recruiting manager is his father and club legend haha We locked Viney jnr in when we thought natural progression would put us in a position where even if we were forced to us our first pick it would still be pick 6-10 on him not 3-4......which is maybe to much?
