  1. I agree - his suspension really hurt our season. Plays a role every week and gets the ball in dangerous areas
  2. I always rated him, but hated him when he was at the Bombers. Always kicking goals and bobbing up when his team needed him. Good trade, even when you consider the 1 year wait to play a match for us.
  3. Never
  4. Lewis has been huge. People who cant see this are just butt hurt that we didnt get a guy in his prime. Has been more consistant than Viney and played more games than Jones. Top 5 b and f i suspect on the back of a very strong 2nd half of the year. Hibbo will also be up there, massive impact from both of them.
  5. It's a moot point isn't it? Comparing the past to the present when the guys are full time footballers with state of the art sport science behind them makes it difficult. As I said before, not disagreeing that clarry may well become better than all of them, or that's he's ahead of where they could have been at the same age, but to just say he's already better than them isn't right IMO
  6. Robert Flower played for the dee's 30 years ago. Tingay, Todd Viney, Yze, Bruce, Jr Mac - we've had some damn good mids in that time too. Clarry is a gun, but I'm not buying he's already better than every mid we've had in the last 30 years.
  7. Moloney - 19 Brownlow votes in 2011, Clarry might top that but Beamer was good that year too.
  8. 30 years? Sorry mate, but in that time we've had a Brownlow winning mid, AA players, not to mention multiple B&F winners. I don't disagree that Clarry has the tools to be as good if not better than those guys, but 'He is already the best midfielder we have had in the last 30 years' is crazy talk ....think before you post!
  9. Think this is a reflection of how even the comp is rather than any issue of our own. We've shown the ability to come back form being 3-4 goals down on many occasions - so have the teams we've played.
  10. Hibberd will win the Bluey this season if he keeps up his form (IMO). Absolute top class player and ultra consistent
  11. Lewis has been a great pickup. Great game on the weekend too. Was never brought in to be our best player, but hes a wise hand and makes a valuable contribution on and off the field.
  12. To be honest once James Hird imploded I lost interest. The players have served their bans, the club has been bashed to death, as long as Jab Watson looses his brownlow I'm happy to move on
  13. I once bumped into the Wiz lining up for the toilets at subi oval. He wasn't wearing any colours though so I asked him where his allegiance lied. He didn't hesitate - Melbourne
  14. I look forward to seeing him run out. The Milkshake seemed to kick goals and have good pace which we can never have enough of!
  15. I actually found his B&F speeches hard to watch. He's a funny man, but was trying a little hard at times in those speeches. Fair enough I guess though - he had to speak 3 times His best work was in the Gawn in 60 seconds clips! quick witt
  16. DemonWA replied to junk's topic in Melbourne Demons
Most of the other posts have the bulk of the names covered, however I wouldn't be surprised to see Lamumba retire as well
  17. I reckon Freo knows more about his injury than they're letting on - if Fyfe is traded I'll assume he'll be injury prone throughout the remainder of the career. High risk / High reward for anyone thinking of taking him on IMO.
  18. Going to be a very handy player Slips under the radar and doesn't get half the media attention of Viney etc, but in time will be a very good player - another Father / Son success!
  19. This!
  20. I think they see Oscar and Dunn on similar levels at this point. If Oscar doesn't grow in confidence and put in some good performances over the next couple of games I think Dunn will slot straight back in. But for the time being the coaches want to blood a young player and obviously don't think the difference between the two of them is large enough to stick with Dunny
  21. I convinced myself that Scully would stay. Hell I brought a jumper with #31 on it after that infamous 'one club' player presser. This time around Im not even going to let it bother me. I'm just going to enjoy watching footy this year and whatever happens happens. I think he seems like a loyal enough sort of guy, but you just don't know what outside factors could be at play here.
  22. haha I thought rpfc was the same poster as E25 when i first joined this forum. But then i just realised there are plenty of posters on here who's opinion isnt just opinion, its fact!
  23. RPFC in what universe is Tom McDonald more accomplished player than Jack Watts? He might be a better runner and he has a good attitude, but I've never seen a player with such poor skills and decision making get the wraps that Tom gets on here. Will be a good player in time, fine, but he's not there yet. Also naming Hogan as more accomplished before he plays a senior game for the club is a bit rich too!
  24. total respect to Clarko for speaking his mind on that one!
  25. Fat Matt Thompson has penned this epic piece http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2013-05-23/trio-required-players-neeld what a nothing article!
