  1. Tynan showed a bit in the couple of games he played last year, i wouldnt get worried about 2nd year players not getting games.
  2. need to win the ball before the forward line even come into the equation. We need top line mids (which is obvious i would have thought!)
  3. even posting in rhyme these days old dee? nice!
  4. does a crap team have the capacity to kick 12 goals in a quarter, or beat up on interstate teasm at the 'G (Dean Bailey era).... The team played poorly in 2012 and even worse so far in 2013, but showed promising signs in 2011. it will be covered time and time again, but all of the anti Neeld sentiment comes from having our dreams shattered in 2012. At the time It wasnt unreasonable to believe that a new coach could have added a defensive string to the bow, and turned Bailey's team into a top 8 side. since 2012 we've been hit over and over again by the reality bus!
  5. for much of that history we havent been playing against a team made up of teenage kids whose orange gurnsey colour is remenicent of traffic cones, which is ironic as they played like such in the last quarter
  6. would love some upto date news on Clark's 2nd round of scans.....
  7. I generally hate Brad Scott, but good call!
  8. haha who cares what Sheahan thinks anyway? Mike Sheahan saying that Caro is the best journo in the land is on par with a king street stripper telling a prostitute that they are the most beautiful women in the world!
  9. Collingwood were a top four team with a top line power forward and a set up that called for a forward/ruckman, not a 2nd key forward. Brisbane were a struggling side trying to keep their young guns together Huge difference
  10. good show of faith from Dawes. The critics will say he was asked to write it etc, and maybe he was, but i'd prefer to see that article than see nothing from him
  11. I wonder whether the reason for sue comes into it? ie. Trengove may or may not have used it in a cream form to help treat stress fractures in his foot (long term injury), where as i believe the bombers might have used it to recover for the Anzac day game last year in injection form? I guess what im saying is that using it for recovery before a game could be deemed 'performance enhancing' and using it for rehab to an injury less so?
  12. Growth hormone variants The ACC report identified the use of Australian-owned growth hormone variant AOD-9604 in sport. The protein-based hormone helps burn fat and stimulates weight loss, though does not necessarily enhance muscle strength. Clinical trials have suggested it also helps repair muscle and tissue after strenuous activity. AOD-9604, used as a cream or injected in liquid form, is not prohibited by WADA but is also not approved for human use.
  13. Just because it isnt on the banned list doesnt make it legal. WADA and ASADA can deem substances illegal if it can be proven that the reason they were taken was for enhancing on field performance, and they do infact enhance on field performance.
  14. I'll throw a name into the ring.... Jamie Bennell
  15. I really like this post. The Million Dollar questions is whether Neeld is actually building a Bomber Thompson type dynasty or, can the MFC afford to wait and see? At this stage i think we're all in , there isnt much going for us on the flop. Was it a good decision to back this hand or are we chasing an ace on the river....
  16. if Howe hadnt spilled the ball at the end it would have been a better grab IMO I voted for Howe, but actually liked JR8's mark the best
  17. i was looking at the fixture this morning, also holding the trident of optamism. Even still i can only see us beating GWS, Suns, Dogs and maybe lions this year. Would love to take a scalp of a side like richmond or North but cant see it at this stage
  18. Games Experience is one measure, but i think age and maturity come into it as well when you talk about 'ability to compete at AFL level' Guys like Matt Jones, Pederson, Magner, Sellar etc dont have many games to their names, but there is no reason they shouldnt be able to compete with hardened AFL bodies to a level greater than a 18 year old draftee Games experience is a factor, but not as important as Neeld makes out
  19. back for the Gold coast game with any luck
  20. i think it comes to their role in the team. I see Kent as competing for a spot against Tapscott, Syliva, Byrnes, Blease etc (attacking HFF/midfield rotation) Toumpas is more of a out and out mid, and whilst i agree his form hasnt been the best, he strikes me as a guy who would look 100 million dollars on a training drill as he is a smooth mover with a nice kick. He'll come good, but theres no harm playing him at Casey with Hogan and the other young guns
  21. Totally agree with those who say Robbo is unfairly criticised these days. He was a very very good player for the club over a long period of time. I hope Howe has a similar length career
  22. wake up on the wrongside of the bed did we?
  23. Terlich does all of the hard stuff that strauss doesnt! If Clark & Dawes both miss, then Watts can play CHF, and strauss can take the distributor role on the HBF
  24. must be all of the injections the lads have been getting from old mate....
