Well what goes around, comes around Jimmy Bartel. Hogan got two withy no priors. Hawkins has priors, cant help himself ,so you've got to give him three Jimmy IMO

Two weeks for Salem way overs. Idiots on MRP invited more jumper punching with Cotchin decision. Why didn't they address it last week if concerned? Jimmy where were you last week son ? That's strike two for you Jimmy in my book . Ridiculous , biased, unbalanced ( $1000 fine - haha) inconsistent penalties are being dispensed inequitably by people who simply cant handle the job and should resign..

Watts had 4 kicks "2" marks and didn't hit the scoreboard today. 44 player points ranking. We did rather need him to get involved today. Mind you he had a few mates, We had 12 players with 66 player points ranking or less. Prepared to maybe forgive Hunt, but a lot of the tribe didn't show up. Likely to get a small slap on the wrist, their pay check and a game next week. That's how we do things at Melbourne

When you have been left vulnerable with a team of slow midgets for the umpteenth time, result not really surprising. Particularly against North. Brown absolutely murders us every year! We were lucky Danaher couldn't kick straight when we played Essendon. Both these blokes are over 200 cm. So exactly who are our Gorilla minders? Who are our outside runners other than Hunt? Recruiting staff and football dept recruiting strategy has been very poor IMO. Got some mid selections right but we have far too many medium quality ( at best) trickless list cloggers.

Absentees evident. Difficult to watch our understrength side. Not dying for the cause this week. We always match up poorly and get punched up against this mob.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 9
Dockett 32 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Always been a tough assignment for us,used to get bullied, but much better equipped in that area now with Lewis, Hibberd, Vince , Jones, Viney, Jetta Petracca and Oliver. Be also inclined to even play another hard type Harms or Melksham . We also haven't matched up on them particularly well but Thomas not there to do his diving and Harvey gone as well. Frost gives us additional height and speed on Brown ,so how we handle the ruck situation and clearances again paramount. Repeat of last weeks effort would give us a great chance. -
Vince offered fine for "clash" with umpire

Freo are now untouchable returning the favour, but if you want to slow someone right up, you now have the green light. Pretty stupid and weak decision by the MRP letting Cotchin off like this. If it was Bernie, cant help thinking it would have been a different result, -
. When Hoges is really going , he is an offensive beast who is extremely difficult to stop. Cant wait to see him back.

One of our better wins of the past 20 years. Leaders really stood up and was a team effort. So many pluses, they all chipped in. Oliver and Petracca exciting A graders when they play like that. Viney back to his best. Replay on now
-
I believe Hogan, Petracca, Garlett , Hunt , Viney and Oliver could grab this game by the throat so longs as the rest can hold the line.
-
So Thomas gets the same as Lewis? So either the AFL MRP or the VFL MRP has to be replaced immediately . Jackson has to be over Gil like a bad rash tomorrow. Laughably ridiculous outcome.

Brief(-ish) moments of being switched off during games

About time all the boys begin playing like men. Oliver and Hunt are! -
Gawn is a very good player when on the field, but no Jimmy Synes in terms of games continuity. Spencer not as good player but also injury prone. Not good succession planning, not good from the point of resilience. But does highlight the absolute need to have a ruckman on the park. Ditterich burst onto the scene as a 16 y.o.time to roll the dice with King?
-
You thought Jonesy played very well Earl?
-
Maybe Kennedy in too. Coach wasn't crazy about 9 shots to two or something. Oliver was ok ,so was Viney So Tyson might get the chop as they won't drop Jones ,even though he was scratchy early.
-
I think Goodwin was really [censored] about two things in his presser. Firstly the casual/ undisciplined crap that went on down back( will have to watch replay more closely to identify who will make way for Melkshan down there, but he was clearly [censored] off with one or a few ) . Secondly I felt he was equally [censored] that they had 9 shots to two or something like that in the first quarter. Again will have to watch again but from memory there were some rubbish turnovers early that contributed. Don't know why but feel Kennedy could get a shot next week.

Keep hearing we are better than our record suggests. We are 3-4 Abe and our record is what it is. To play finals you simply have to have the strength of character to win close games.
-
That's true, we are great at going down fighting.
-
I think we gambled that Gawn and Spencer wouldnt be hurt for an extended period at the same time. Wrong bet with history of injury they have both had. Recruiting error for mine. You only needed one of King or Filopovic and should have had a third mature ruckman also running around in the magoos. Message now evident you need at least three match ready talls to start the season. Boy we are paying for our error of judgement. History may repeat itself if we don't correct this next year. King probably under the pump so maybe time to roll the dice.
-
Normal limp " snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory " effort. Due to injury prone status of half our list, we will probably go around with pretty much the same mob of underachievers next week. Surely Stretch replaces JKH and Kent replaces Bugg. A week late, but better late than never. Trengove on pure persistence warrants serious consideration.

Bolton does more with less. Bulldogs and good sides win close ones. Coach and leadership group can't get it done. Apologists please forget it, the only thing that is important is winning and the 4 points. Successful ruthless sides understand this, we don't. Pathetic soft effort compounded by front loop selection yet again.
