  1. I'm inclined to agree on the mere fact Hogan is back!
  2. Interview demonstrates he is clearly a very smart guy, I mean he basically describes off the cuff his entire recovery program in detail, and I actually learned something! I also remember watching his draft footage and he even though he didn't have any major highlights, he just look so composed and natural in everything he did, which got me really excitied.
  3. I also agree with the articles contention that Jones is a better role model for the benefits of hard work and determination. Thats not to take anything away from Gary, as he's a proven champion and diligent trainer, etc. I used to play junior footy with Steve Johnson, but as good as he was, I took no inspiration from him because it was purely his size and natural ability that made him a good player. He was also a bit of an arrogant tool with poor social skills and a low IQ. Meanwhile, there were other guys I played with who weren't as talented, but who trainied hard and did the team things that I would have picked first...
  4. Well Roos did warn us about not reading too much into Round 1... ...we may have forgotten it completely by the end of the season or even by round 7...
  5. I thought our toughness was great too, both in terms of winning the contest ball but also when putting pressure on the kicker. Particularly loved when Kent smashed Malceski over the boundary line into a GC teammate. That kind of attitude and approach has been sorely lacking since I can even remember...
  6. Completely agree. But when you've only seen the highlights package watching the whole game provides a different perspective...still lots of reasons to get excited though, and gives me a reason to be happy for once about returning to Australia at the end of June.
  7. In addition to Hogan's great work up forward, I thought he didn't look out of place during his forays into the middle of the ground too. His vision and hand seemed quite good for a big fella.
  8. Yeah I agree. I finished watching the replay last night and it has tempered my excitement a little bit. Still quite a few basic skill errors throughout the game and we had a bit of luck going our way at times. If Ablett hadn't missed that handball in the goal square in the last quarter things might have gone quite differently. Will be really interesting to see if we can back up this week, and the following weeks will really test us to see how much we have improved. But bringing back Vince and Dawes should provide some extra experience and skill which should help our cause.
  9. Well it provided a lot of entertainment in the trade period if nothing else!
  10. I don't believe anything unless its in riddle form...GNF where are you?
  11. Not sure if there was another thread for our new away strip but this was the first I found. So what are the thoughts in the new white away strip since seeing it in action? Personally I think they finally got it right, or at least as good as it could get. To me it's kinda similar to the old NBA simple white alternative uniforms.
  12. Latest update: Melbourne will wait to punish Jeff Garlett until after drink-driving charge is heard in court In other news according to that article, Dean Kemp has come out of retirement and made his way unnoticed onto our list...
  13. Hellishly good pickup at 53. This excites me the most. Turn him into a forward I say, could go well in tandem with Hogan once he has developed his frame or be a good third tall option in the meantime...
  14. Curious to see where Lever goes now
  15. Me too especially given the timezone difference means I'm trying to pretend to work at the same time!
  16. what time does it actually kick off?
  17. 30s are the new 20s Ron - live it up!
  18. Just stumbled across this, like what I saw after the 26 second mark. We could use a lot more well directed aggression like that!
  19. Something akin to 2010 would be nice without the big losses and with closer fought wins. We need to get excited again!
  20. Given that McCartney won't be starting until Feb can we really bank on him having a big impact in 2015 given he'll be absent for most of the pre-season?
  21. Couldn't help myself - love this guy
  22. Yeah great bump but in the context of the play was the wrong move, playing the man not the ball. Probably goes some way to explain why he never found it enough...
  23. They are already onto us! AFL queries Demons' early start to pre-season
  24. More fuel to add to the fire - we must get these picks right! http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-10-24/they-could-have-been-demons Danger looks great in those colours!
