  1. Well earlier in the season the team was likely affected by a lack of continuity in training and matches. So that might explain why it took a while to see any resemblance of a coherent team, which became more apparent in the middle of the season when we got on a bit of a roll. I’m not saying that’s acceptable but clearly many of those factors were out of our control. While the players may have sufficient fitness the tight schedule and travel means everything is compressed, including time for reviewing games, identifying issues to be addressed, preparing and communication messages to players via lines coaches, opposition analysis and strategising, etc. I suspect those are the areas where our footy departments weaknesses have been exposed recently.
  2. Therein lies my point. That the travel exposed weaknesses/issues that were there already and need to be addressed.
  3. It’s interesting because under Goodwin we’ve actually performed pretty well on the road. But clearly this schedule is punishing and I think would have exposed any weaknesses in a number of areas, from the discipline of individual of players in their preparation approach and through to the football department’s planning and operations.
  4. Carlton didn’t deserve to play finals in 2013 either. Just saying...
  5. So the Bradbury plan is still in play?
  6. Yikes. You know we are troubled times when Wiseblood is no longer able to muster any positives. A hug right back at you!
  7. Vanders was backing josh Wagner for a callup so no major surprises there. Brown showed his value in the preseason so not sure why so many complaints there either. Gonna back the ins this week given that we must have some useful intel from their former head coach.
  8. Backing us in. We been thereabouts and we have performed pretty well on the road the last few years. Gotta come together at some stage. Go Dees!
  9. Kent asked to be traded plain and simple. We may well have kept him if they didn’t make a better offer. The revisionism on here is also quite frustrating. https://amp.theage.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-s-dean-kent-wants-to-be-a-saint-20180925-p505zp.html
  10. I’m willing to give them at least another week or two given the circumstances, especially given the Eagles capitulated to the Suns which no one saw coming. Also seems rather pointless calling for the coach’s head given no club will be in a position to afford to sack a coach this year.
  11. He missed a bunch of gettable goals in the first quarter of that premlim
  12. Watched this on Friday night on YouTube. Quite a manic game style we had back then’ that didnt seem too different from chaos ball of 2018. Far less pressure of ball carrier through the middle of the ground too.
  13. Yeah that's my reading of it too, def reminds me of Heppell
  14. Who is the last top ten pick we recruited before this?
  15. The reality is we need to get competitive and competitive fast, which means bringing in established players at the expense of speculative draftees. If he is at least competitive from the get go and give us a little speed and class and holds down a spot for 1-2 years, then its the right move as far as I am concerned. But yeah, I too hated him at Essendon...but I will welcome him now!
  16. Its been 3 days since the Grand final GNF. Surely you must be sober enough now to give us the goss...
  17. So we've recruited a cop...might be just what we need to interrogate potential draftees to see who really is dedicated to being elite in their profession and who would be committed to their club!
