Interesting comments on the AFL article crediting Bailey as the man behind Sanderson's initial success...
-
Interesting they are suggesting he'd potentially be on 1 million a year at the Crows and up to 1.4 mill if he was to come back to Vic. Given thats the case, how many other Victorian clubs could realistically fit him in their cap at present?

GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

Didn't Moloney make a quip about Brock's departure to Carlton and didn't he also 'bleed red and blue'? -
Would be fantastic to get him to the Dees. But I must admit as much as I hate Adelaide I would feel for them given they have lost a lot of talent from poaching in recent years...

Over to you Mr Frawley...

But would we have beaten The Doggies or Sydney in the preliminary in 1998?

Maybe this is all a ploy by the MFC to distract the media and other clubs while it's busy poaching their players and staff... -

Maybe his manager really doesn't know? If the meeting hasn't yet taken place or only taken place today then he may not have actually spoken in depth with Clark since then... -
Agree and I reckon if the AFL want to be serious about the clash it should mandate all clubs to wear a simple white jumper with their teams logo/initials on the front when they are the away team similar to how it used to be in the NBA for home teams

By the same logic he could just play for Casey...most of out boys seem to prefer it there without the pressure. -
We need guys like Trengove to be leading our recovery, not to trade them off in a fire sale. We should't be too quick to forget his decision to sign on shortly after the 186 debacle in an immense show of faith. Something that is obviously lacking at present. Grimes probably needs to be demoted to VC to let him focus on his own game, but he also need to be kept for the same reasons. As if Roos would trade a Grimes type player after criticising the decision to delist Brad Miller...the rot began when Melbourne starting offloading its respected senior players before their time, surely the same mistake can't be made again?

Melbourne has not made the finals since 2006 and has won just 10 games in three seasons. It kicked three goals against the second worst points against team for 2014, managing to kick five goals or fewer for the sixth time this season. If ever a team had a case for a priority pick it is the Demons. If they don't receive one, which they probably won't given the problems seem bigger than one extra pick could solve, then the priority pick is effectively dead. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-08-17/five-talking-points-melbourne-v-gws

Roos' Post game press conference
Deetective Sgt. Taggert replied to champagne football's topic in Melbourne Demons
He was pretty measured. Basically said not up to AFL standard and couldn't believe the poor quality of disposal. Agreed with the assessment that the players looked like they had put the cue in the rack for the season and were satisfied with 4 wins. Would change the game plan if it was that simple. They evaluate players on a weekly basic to determine who is up to AFL standard. 3-5 year project to rebuild the club. Chose not to speak to the players after the game as there were no positives to discuss. -

Really liked the reference to the Houston Rockets who I used to followed fervently as a kid. I just watched the video of their second championship for the first time and their ability to used failure to galvanise them to victory is a great lesson for the Dees. Also helped they had one of the best players (Hakeem Olajuwon) in the league at time! Love the way Olajuwon used the fact David Robinson won the 94-95 MVP as motivation to smash him in the playoffs too. Was a shame they couldn't keep it together for the following year. Would have been great to see Olajuwon, Drexler and Barkley face off agianst Jordan and the Bulls in the playoffs. -

All I can say is that it's the only live game I'll be able to see in 2 years (overseas the last 12 months and heading back again shortly) so mightily dissappointed with what was dished up today. Was expecting at least a good contest but was bored shitless for most of it. Let's hope when I'm back in a years time things will be on the up! -

Speaks well on camera and certainly comes across as being quite mature and confident for a young fella. Great stuff!
