Positive if true but still don't mean much. I recall Bradshaw and Riscitelli touring Carlton's facilities and look where they ended up...
-
I would personally be really disappointing to lose Trengove, even if he doesn't become a gun like we hoped he could still be a very valuable contributor to the 22 and I'll never forget the faith he showed after the 186 debacle

Vince on twitter - "Absolutely wrapped to have my old captain/mentor/mate Simon Goodwin coaching at the Dees. #gun! Really excited about 2015 and beyond!!"
-
It is hard to get particularly excited about this appointment when I and many others were hoping Roos would decide to stay on and take us to that elusive 13th flag. But one thing that strikes me is that although its easy to think that Goodwin's involvement in the Essendrug saga leaves his a bit tainted, I think it also means he is at least better prepared to deal with the alleged psychology issues at Melbourne, given that despite all that went down the Bombers still managed to make the finals last year (only to be disqualified) and weren't too far off the mark this year. Given the wraps that Goodwins seems to be getting as a very personable bloke, surely he must have played a role in keeping the players focused as best they could.

Sounds like Goodwin has possibly gone behind his management company's back to do a deal just like Ross Lyon did....

Interesting comments on the AFL article crediting Bailey as the man behind Sanderson's initial success...
-
Interesting they are suggesting he'd potentially be on 1 million a year at the Crows and up to 1.4 mill if he was to come back to Vic. Given thats the case, how many other Victorian clubs could realistically fit him in their cap at present?

GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

Didn't Moloney make a quip about Brock's departure to Carlton and didn't he also 'bleed red and blue'? -
Would be fantastic to get him to the Dees. But I must admit as much as I hate Adelaide I would feel for them given they have lost a lot of talent from poaching in recent years...

Over to you Mr Frawley...

But would we have beaten The Doggies or Sydney in the preliminary in 1998?

Maybe this is all a ploy by the MFC to distract the media and other clubs while it's busy poaching their players and staff... -

Maybe his manager really doesn't know? If the meeting hasn't yet taken place or only taken place today then he may not have actually spoken in depth with Clark since then... -
Agree and I reckon if the AFL want to be serious about the clash it should mandate all clubs to wear a simple white jumper with their teams logo/initials on the front when they are the away team similar to how it used to be in the NBA for home teams

By the same logic he could just play for Casey...most of out boys seem to prefer it there without the pressure. -
We need guys like Trengove to be leading our recovery, not to trade them off in a fire sale. We should't be too quick to forget his decision to sign on shortly after the 186 debacle in an immense show of faith. Something that is obviously lacking at present. Grimes probably needs to be demoted to VC to let him focus on his own game, but he also need to be kept for the same reasons. As if Roos would trade a Grimes type player after criticising the decision to delist Brad Miller...the rot began when Melbourne starting offloading its respected senior players before their time, surely the same mistake can't be made again?
