  1. well, we can almost certainly take the Chip out of the equation.
  2. Jordie's commitment and endeavor has always made him one of my favourites, but sadly he lacks the skills and finish to hold a place in a team going, or hoping to go, forward. It is a bloody disgrace that there are quite a few listed players whose application isn't anywhere near Jordie's: if all did, we would be a far far more successful team.
  3. FCS - Ollie is playing in a top 4 team with a largely mature midfield : JT is at a club with a struggling midfield (though better this year) and has been struggling with injury.
  4. Bloody amazing, especially from a team who were possibly rated behind us 2 y ago. But, seriously, does anyone really want Lyon to succeed Roos??
  5. But they failed to apply 'scoreboard pressure' when they had the opportunity
  6. The whole commentary team is such crap...full of predictable clichés
  7. Firstly, I have absolutely no idea about Tutt, but we haven't, under this current regime (one lead by a coach who has had in the past great success in turning sow's ears into silk purses) done what you are suggesting. I trust this man with this record to do his recycling far better than his predecessors.
  8. ... except his coach
  9. That is well and good, but the professional list managers failed to consult the crystal balls belonging to several posters on this site.
  10. I too have reservations, but the highlighted text IMO isn't necessarily the case. Watching games live and not on TV he actually does a fair bit of work off the ball, but what has been a fault in MFC for a long time is lack of vision has meant that his leads are too often not honoured. Hopefully as those behind the play without skills or vision are weeded out this will change. And yes - JW would be a lot better for us were he somehow develop a 'taste for the contest' !
  11. International.....as in North Korea, Syria, and of course our great friends Saudi etc etc
  12. My personal view is that much of the what the "mainstream" religions profess is nothing more than superstitious nonsense - that will offend some but do I have the right to say it? Should I? There are very fine lines drawn when these matters are legislated, and unintended consequences will follow. Great care is needed.
  13. Which is why I suggest you stage a coup - you clearly know far more than our recruiting team, AND most of the other experts.
  14. First year, incomplete preseason. He showed glimpses of absolute class, especially a couple of memorable mature moments at Alice Springs (oh, so long ago it seems). I am really looking forward to seeing him with greater fitness and endurance following a hard preseason. IMVHO one of the brightest lights at MFC that I have seen for many a long year.
  15. Retrospectivity is fantastic - looking back, at the time of the draft, the majority of genuine 'draft experts' had JT just ahead of Wines. Can some of our armchair experts please stage a coup for our recruiting directors position - I am certain you would all get it 100% right, every time.
  16. On another matter, trying to be objective and not biased, how did Hawkins' slipped jumper punch impact compare with Dawes' two this season? Ah....finals vs battler
  17. I was wondering just how long this would take. Hey - Wines is playing in a sometimes brilliant team with a great midfield: were he at MFC playing in a dispirited team with a struggling midfield, and JT playing finals with Port I just wonder who would be saying what.
  18. More info please
  19. It was surely, in effect, Salam plus Tyson over Kelly, just to put it into true perspective. Do you honestly think that Kelly, in our side, would be burning them up this year?
  20. How novel! I really would have liked to see the team there tonight with Roos pointing out to them exactly what is needed to be a decent team.
  21. Due diligence would surely involve ascertaining if he is one of the "named" players at EssUndone. If he is, we would need to carefully weigh the risks of him being given a 6, 12 or 24 month ban vs the benefits to us once any ban was served. IF he did one of those 6 month deals, and if the deal were ratified by WADA, it could be worth a bid. If he was completely "in the clear" sure....would make a big play for him.
  22. Q: What colour will the sky be on Sunday afternoon? A: Who cares, we won't see it playing at Doglands.
  23. How come we are stuck with this underscheiving blue sky that will never get us anywhere, when we should obviously have taken that fantastic teal sky that is exciting all those lucky Port Adelaide fans. What a shocking choice.
  24. IIRC we lost one last September - final game of the season.
