  1. By all means stop the extra propping up of Sydney by COLA and their special access arrangements through the academy, but this on the run ruling seems just so typical of the reactionaries at AFL HQ. Fair trading should be part of the game; how can they just suddenly force one club not to trade - unless for example it is part of a penalty for bringing the game into disrepute by injecting players with unknown substances! By the way, does anyone have a link to, or a quick summary of exactly what the rules are regarding the Swans' academy.
  2. It is always difficult to see a slippery slope ahead of you when your head is up a very dark orifice !
  3. I suspect that Mr Roos has at least had a chat, and that some sort of offer has been made. Time gentlemen please.
  4. Speculation, real information, or natural and completely justified demon pessimism?
  5. Presumably Roos is happy that he can get him to play his role - what more can one ask, basically for free. Geez, he and mad Mick must have had a huge falling out. Nobody showed much faith in Pedersen prior to season 2014 - he made huge strides. If he can continue to improve he will fill a role (and not just as Merret's punching bag.)
  6. How about a "creative idea"; injecting neatly a whole list with unknown substances. Surely there should be reward in that.
  7. "Looks like our best ever preseason "! :-))
  8. Not only father/son but also legend grandfather/grandson - one J Kennedy.
  9. surely not a FA, as he is still contracted.
  10. One rule for the 'marquee clubs": a totally different rule for the "feeder development clubs"! Seriously, this could be the last straw for this long suffering MFC fan.
  11. That would be a worry that I would be more than happy to have, at this stage.
  12. It would seem that MFC may have been better off by buying some "good stuff" to administer to that ex#11 guy than supporting him legally in the way we did. May have helped him heal and maybe made him happy, and if it failed we could claim some sort of compo! Beggars belief really: but in the AFL eyes there appear to be the haves and the have nots.
  13. Far beyond their intellectual capacity I would imagine - many probably didn't even notice the name change hilarious maybe - I just hope he don't really take himself too seriously
  14. ..and any decent fish in those waters, beelzebub?
  15. Maybe Roos will be easier to relate to and get on with, therefore perform better for, than Mad Mick?
  16. If Roos is certain that his head is right, then a big yes from me. Swap for Blease, please.
  17. .....and if they do develop then they will be bought by a successful club and the cycle rolls in and on
  18. We have all been seduced before but this guy sounds good. Negatives: -memories of 2 Galahs in the early 90s as I recall. Given numbers 30 and 31 I think. Played 3 or 4 games between them. Still, mustn't let half a name influence things. -the words "elite kick" reminded me of the Strauss write up, though this guy sounds as if he can actually find the ball to kick.
  19. If Munga is actually anything like his / her avatar, I doubt if he / she will see out another year regardless
  20. I am Sydney could - wink wink nudge nudge - find cap space for him.
  21. Jeezzzzz Some people are hard to please He would not have come if the club had 'demanded' a longer contract and the we would have been left with as you put it "just another apprentice with no runs on the board", so Like other posters here I am delighted that he has come even if for only three years as head coach. And I just cannot run with your suggestion that he is half hearted about his work - from what I have seen he is fully commitedto the immense task ahead, and is revelling in it (though apparently in only a half hearted way)! I would love to be able to have Norm Smith back (prior to the club's heartless and unbelievably destructive backstabbing) but we can't always have what we want, and frankly I believe we are in the best possible hands.
  22. I agree with you, but to answer your question it is I believe because there was another player playing in a team with a mature midfield who came within a kick of reaching a GF this year, rather than battling injuray and a chronic lack of leadership at a struggling club. And, of course, the huge benefits of hindsight.
  23. Bontempelli ?? ;-) *?spelling, but we all know too well who he is and what he can do ;-((
  24. I hope they DO go to other clubs, and continue true to form! One of those, like Sylvia IMO who would like to play AFL byt don't want to enough to put in the hard work and make the necessary sacrifices
