  1. Not a very interesting contest - only glad to see that premierships cannot (necessarily) be bought !
  2. It hurts that all of theirs have come since our penultimate one. Basically all through my adult years. Still, my schooldays were a great time to be a Demon fan. Finals every year from prep to year 11.
  3. I can't recall, but how were they in their first season back? Nathan Brown took quite a while too IIRC.
  4. For once I am rather ambivalent about this one. I have until this year had a great respect for the Swans, but the blatant misuse of the spirit of the COLA in buying Tippett then Franklin has me saying enough is enough. However ... the Hawks?? If they do beat the Swans, I hope Roughead has a big day out and Franklin an absolute stinker.
  5. But it would look great in the Members' Dining Room.
  6. So you guys (and others) know a lot more than Roos then ??
  7. Ah...such a happy place for someone prone to depression to want to move to.
  8. The two are not mutually exclusive !
  9. I think that your first sentence may he pivotal - when he was diagnosed may well be a year or two after he actually suffered the foot problem, so the explanation for his drop in form could well be an undiagnosed foot problem.I hope that all here wish him well and hope that his foot has recovered fully allowing him to return to his previous best. Remains to be seen of course.
  10. I haven't ever seen him, but I think one would have to say that this very low risk experiment has not been a roaring success. So be it - nothing ventured, nothing gained.
  11. Especially those who have been around a while - those first five will surely move on (those that haven't already).
  12. He played the role asked of him quite adequately when Garland was injured - unfortunately for Alexis he was injured in "the Viney incident" by friendly fire, just as Garlo came back and was not needed again. Well done.
  13. His path has been very disappointing, and certainly influenced by his injury woes. Good luck to him in his quest for a trade - I am not sure if we would get much though.
  14. From how I interpreted John Fahey's comments on ABC radio a short time ago I get the impression that they may have missed the boat on any reduced penalty. One would have to be certain that he would be allowed to play to consider offering anything in return, and frankly it would stick in the craw to give anything at all to those cheats.
  15. Mitchell will still struggle to break into that Swans midfield....must be getting frustrated as hell.
  16. I agree with you, chook - and I would never describe him as a hack. Just running out of legs. Oh....what could have been
  17. After all, we suffered severe Burns when we picked up another past-due Cat recently.
  18. Sounded good - "elite kick". Trouble was I rarely saw him win a ball, so actually hard to asses.
  19. So the head high impact in an off the ball, feet off ground that split Selwood's scalp was minimal impact - no suspension, yet Dawes' two gentle brushes with the arm, failing to draw blood, were medium ?????? The incompetence, inconsistency, and / or corruption of the MRP is just legendary.
  20. well, we can almost certainly take the Chip out of the equation.
  21. Jordie's commitment and endeavor has always made him one of my favourites, but sadly he lacks the skills and finish to hold a place in a team going, or hoping to go, forward. It is a bloody disgrace that there are quite a few listed players whose application isn't anywhere near Jordie's: if all did, we would be a far far more successful team.
  22. FCS - Ollie is playing in a top 4 team with a largely mature midfield : JT is at a club with a struggling midfield (though better this year) and has been struggling with injury.
  23. Firstly, I have absolutely no idea about Tutt, but we haven't, under this current regime (one lead by a coach who has had in the past great success in turning sow's ears into silk purses) done what you are suggesting. I trust this man with this record to do his recycling far better than his predecessors.
