  1. The incredible fall from grace by Port this year could perhaps raise questions as to whether there was perhaps "something unusual" they had been taking last year??
  2. Blue and white ones actually But bloody hell, not even Hogan to play.. Who the hell is hob to kick goals? Who is going to mark in the forward line?? Who is gong to share the ruck work??
  3. Not great for development, is it. But frankly having the VFL as the 'feeder' competition when they have an uneven number of teams, therefore byes, just sucks too. There are times when returning and fringe players may not get a game in two weeks.
  4. Except that I am sure Missen knew anyway. It was the communication to those on the field that failed.
  5. I wasn't at the game but heard that our runner was on the field already: couldn't be called back to bench then out again in time. Still, if on field leaders were good enough / accustomed to winning enough then they would have a feel for the situation and remedied it. I just cannot see for example Selwood or Mitchell, Hodge not making a call themselves. Big difference is team confidence and also remembering/ knowing how to win.
  6. So no ruck support at all for Gawnius maximums unless Spencil gets in....couldn't have his as sub though. Hope he is up to it Pretty scant pickings really....bloody injury list.
  7. A countdown clock on the scoreboard would work.* However it would be the same for both competing teams, so really could it help us more than anyone else? But would it be "good for the game"? Discuss. * I would see a lot of merit in this for the "Matthew Lloyd rule" for set shots at goal. At present the maggots just guess most of the time, and it varies from player to player and team to team.
  8. 6th, 12th.....15th Not particularly high bar have you set, but yes, I get the gist
  9. I have said it before - I hope to hell that the club, lead by Peter Jackson, did full due diligence on Goodwin before he was appointed. They would be more aware than any of us here of his potential involvement in any penalties that may be imposed. I trust Peter Jackson.
  10. I know a quite a few people here have doubts on Missen, but I suspect that they will spend a lot of time on working on his quadriceps, his hamstrings, and doing a lot of straight line running, and not have him doing any twisting or impact work at all at least until the preseason. It would be absolutely pointless risking him in lower level games for zero gain this year. Unlike many of his predecessors, he has a very well developed body and as soon as his knee has fully recovered he should be ready to make an impact at AFL level.
  11. A very confident and rounded young man - oozes leadership. IF we can get him, AB, JH (and the other best 22s currently on the injury list) all up and running together we will look a whole lot better. Something real to look forward to after all these decades of disappointment.
  12. I suspect that the powers that be will bring in Dawes, despite him having done very little and not being able to mark: I too would prefer Jamar, or Spencil.
  13. And the prjck, the one who said he would take full responsibility, hasn't, and as far as I know has never tried to explain what he meant by this.
  14. Will never be an A grader!? Do you have a crystal ball? Every chance he will though of course nobody can guarantee that. Pure speculation one way or the other.
  15. Effectively ended Georgio's brief career too C'est la vie.
  16. And it would be great if post bye we had enough of our injured troops back to make that unnecessary - allow them to develop confidence in VFL if at all possible. PS: I do find it pretty sad that posters keep bringing up that darkest day in our club's history with that scoreboard pic. Why do it??? Anyone who, despite our recent failings to get over the line, doesn't recognise a paradigm shift in our club is either severely depressed, severely deluded or doesn't want to know, preferring to wallow in the dismal past.
  17. They would make a hell of a difference - even two of them in in place of the fringe players would have got us across the line Sunday, and possibly last Monday as well (I know that is all hypothetical by the way). I presume that you are referring to Jamar, as there is nobody else in your ins who can be relied upon to take and hold a mark.
  18. If we had had an injury free season then IMO it would be unlikely that we would have seen anything, or more than perhaps a late season cameo, from ANB or Stretch. They have only appeared this early as a result of the injury list and the inadequacies of the more experienced 'depth players' - had the likes of Jordie (just love his endeavour and application; something for all to aspire to), Matt Jones, Bail stepped up with quality performances then we could she nurtured these first year guys a lot longer at VFL, just as happens at other clubs with greater quality depth. Yes, even perhaps frustrating them by lack of promotion after a string of good VFL games, but nurtured than anyway.
  19. Who are we talking about here?
  20. Roos has shown that he can bring a very good side to a premiership, but he has not shown that he has the ability to get a very ordinary side to think like a top team. When you hit the front, unexpectedly, with 40 seconds to go, the coach should not need to send an instruction to flood the back line : he should have made that very clear time and time again in advance, and it should just happen. Dumb footballers with poor on field leadership.
  21. Can't even defend a lead for forty bloody seconds - man up and stack the back line ......bloody hell it is just so sad that ........ what can one say??????
  22. So, should the teammates lock up their wives? :-(( Or do you mean a freakish arrogant talented forward who will have a huge impact on a generation of footy fans??
  23. I guess if he played as a stay home forward then he can only be in the play when his teammates get it to him. 5 is still impressive on debut at any level.....needs to build on it, and build his body over the next pre seasons.
  24. Thanks BBQ And I guess when finals are out of the question then an even more conservative approach is sensible.
  25. All credit to him for putting in the hard work prior to and during season 2014 and turning his career around. It was on the line and he did the right thing. Sure 2015 hasn't been as good for him personally but I look forward to this game.
