  1. Well said, Nasher Nobody, not man, woman nor child ever deserves to be threatened like that. The woman involved in this incident will most likely be mentally scarred for a long time, maybe forever. But, hell, he didn't actually hit her so she should just go away and get over it! That seems to be the attitude of far too many, our law enforcement and our judiciary included
  2. Not necessarily a gigantic difference, especially if a drunk / drugged madman then goes ahead and does it.
  3. There are precedents (not necessarily in AFL) for persons being suspended / stood down pending investigations. Couldn't agree more. Threatening blinding someone is about the worst type of GBH one can imagine. Sort of stuff medieval armies melted out to the vanquished. And maybe ISIS.
  4. No The only 'traditional club" that has not.
  5. Oh sure. A misogynistic sociopathic man with poor self control in a woman's' organization!?!? I am sure they would welcome him with open arms...not.
  6. If he escapes WADA CAS sanction, somehow (and nobody here know if he will or if he will not), he could be a great pick up off HBF through the midfield. His disposal looks good, and he will be superkeen to move on from Hird's disgusting human experimentation program.
  7. Whilst it would be great for a Demon to kick 100 in a season - we are the only club other than the newbies who haven't ever had a centurion goal kicker - I would be happier if he got 70-80 and several others e.g. Garlett, Petracca, Vince got 40-50. Like WJ, I am trying to keep the lid on
  8. I suspect that the police have be told to stay out of it...after all ...."no injury" ... just a bit of drunken / drugged play.....etc etc etc stuie's picture could be any or all of Gil, the Victorian Police, or our Premier and state government. There is a lot of hypocritical hand wringing and uttering of platitudes on the issue of general violence in our society, violence against anyone, men, women, children. When push comes to shove our "authorities" and our judiciary behave in a pretty impotent manner, but continue to try to pretend that they care. The introduction of cage fighting by Dan surely must send the wrong message to those in our society who have a violent streak - I saw some clips of the event at Doglands, and the blood lust in the crowd was really plain scary.
  9. Is not threatening anyone with GBH a criminal offence? Is he excused because he is an AFL player, because he was drugged or drunk, or just because, despite all the political gobbledygook about violence against women being unacceptable, nobody gives a stuff?
  10. expectamus, movere deinceps
  11. Hopefully our recruiters are doing better psychological assessment now.
  12. Did you mean "Triple J not Tripe M"?
  13. Bad luck of course but injuries happen. That is why depth is important. Like most here I wish him a speedy and complete recovery.
  14. Thanks for the reports. i find it very encouraging hearing that Hogan, OMac, Petracca, Grimes, Viney are all building stamina, and that Petracca is as competitive and polished as predicted.
  15. FYI if I try to search demonland I get a 404 cannot be found But am offered historical search results from whence I got here.
  16. Isn't it great that there will be competition for places in the team.
  17. Thanks for the dedication and hard work. It is very much appreciated. One question - am. Missing something or are the post numbers within a thread missing? No big deal.
  18. no disgrace there, but definitely an advance over 2015 depth M Jones and Bail in particular
  19. It is a total turn off for me too - so much so that I switch stations immediately it comes on, either to ABC or AW or basically anything else, sometimes iPod (same as I do whenever that tiles man comes on whichever station). I seriously find the all pervasive gambling advertising a total blight on the AFL - you get it at the game and on TV. It is turning me off watching footy altogether. I rarely now watch entire 'neutral games', in part because of this barrage, or if MFC is getting a drubbing (all a part of history now of course)! Interesting that the Ox copes. Good on him for overcoming that terrible curse.
  20. Just what has been going through my mind since he was announced........here's hoping. That will be a welcome change. From what I read the Weed does just that, for starters.
  21. LIKE.. Unlike many posters here who are convinced that they know more.
  22. Must have been in another thread where there was discussion re leg speed vs thought and execution speed. I would far prefer a quick thinking quick executing player than one with leg speed who can't deliver or panics. Diesel Williams or Sam Blease anyone?
  23. Dedication, hard work, country boy - Tom McDonald-like focus?
