  1. Oh...the AFL is consistent....consistently inconsistent!
  2. It is not a draw - it is a fixd'ya. Yes we need to beat whom ever wherever but it is a shocking time, clash and venue from a marketing point of view. The 'lesser clubs' will remain just that if they are never given decent exposure for marketing.
  3. Great summation, nutbean. Nobody knows when a player signs on how they will turn out. The only other way would be to have every player in the AFL on purely performance based contracts, which would be a logistic nightmare and won't happen.
  4. So many here are missing the point The Collingwood pair were caught and punished Whitfield deliberately avoided a drug test which very clearly is well known to carry presumption of guilt and a maximum penalty These guys are indoctrinated on this on induction and regularly - avoid a drug test = guilty.
  5. Put him in the comfy chair and hit him with the soft pillow?
  6. but not in good old Gil's AFL Pope Robbo certainly would I wonder if Sam Mitchell will repeat his injection dig at them when they next play? Would love to see Sam do his hallmark corking of Jab at the opening bounce.
  7. I did...no reply. Think he is running scared. Batman after him?
  8. Sometimes the devil you know may not be better than the devil you don't know. Those delisted have been looked at pretty closely by our guys and have been found NQR.....they must think that McKenna has something they can work on with better expectations than what we gave had.
  9. Maybe Jack wanted to make his own name in his number. Besides, if i recall correctly, Col Sylvia had the number and was about to embark on his career defining best pre-season and break out year
  10. ✔️ Just do it!
  11. It is the AFL yet you are surprised? It is just that..a stated principle. The AFL don't actually have any real ones. So it is up to us to counter this or give them something else to counter themselves. Going in with only those totally negative thoughts will ensure defeat. A self fulfilling prophecy.....like the AFL's giving powerful clubs prime time slots.
  12. Not at all. Professional crooks. Zero "marketing opportunity" for the club Zero Still as someone else said earlier, an opportunity to crack two hoodoos. Over to you, team
  13. Surely we can't get a Cedric, can we?
  14. And Gawnius Maximus 11
  15. Like Jurrah was only half the player at #24 than he was at #48 ☹️️
  16. Sadly under AFL rules with every dollar going to reward the drug cheats.
  17. More than that, it is ASADA's and / or WADA's business too. Deliberately avoiding a drug test is taken as the equivalent of failing one.
  18. Gil will be lapping this up and will use it as part of his justification for gutlessly failing to make a hard decision. "A prominent sports lawyer said we couldn't"
  19. Venerable? I suspect you meant vulnerable Anything but. ven·er·a·ble (vĕn′ər-ə-bəl) adj. 1. Commanding respect by virtue of age, dignity, character, or position. Bottom line one is unless we can beat Essendon, Carlton, Norf, StKilda as well as continuing our mastery over Richmond and collingwood we will not progress. If we can do that and snatch a few scalps from teams above us then we may approach the venerability that the Bulldogs have earned this year.
  20. Should. Will....dunno. Entirely up to the players, especially the leaders.
  21. Didn't see the game chook, but given his otherwise good year (by all accounts) maybe he was unwell or injured?
  22. The great thing about living here as opposed to say North Korea is that we are all still allowed to express an opinion publicly, reasonable or not - though Prof Triggs is working on that freedom.
  23. Goodness gracious me! Do they allow such folk in now? ?
  24. Strong drafts, weak drafts.......surely the outcome depends on how the newbies fit in to their new club and how they are developed, and what senior role models they have in their new club I suspect many here were rather excited at the time, particularly re Clarke, and excitement continued when he came out firing As far as I can recall they never played in the same game together due to their respective injuries One never can tell but had they both been injury free, who knows where we could have been? Certainly a big cultural change re not losing top 22s, and having good players coming to us. What was Prestia's manager thinking? $$$$$. What, was Prestia thinking?
