2020 Grand Final
It will be interesting to see how Ablett goes as the night progresses. One more fall on it would be curtains I reckon.

The maggots might be wearing yellow and gold but are thinking blue and white.

Classic Duckwood free there.

2020 Grand Final
Should be. High impact. Bad result. At very best reckless. Nothing to see though. Looks Gawn for ever. Classic dislocation - he had this before but maybe the opposite side? Any way, won’t be back.

Farewell Braydon Preuss
Daniher can occupy a spot on their injury list as long as they wish. Hopefully fair, but not easy in the pushover sense. 2020 was an absolute disaster for any developing player at any level. So, who knows?

Isaac Smith
I remember it being said some years ago - can’t remember who - that the difference between the top 4 and the winner is the bottom 6 on the day.

Defeated by the firewall. A précis please, someone.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Surely a bit depends on injury / fitness assessment of both Ben Brown and of Tom McDonald. IF (emphasize if) Tom has been carrying an injury that has caused him to fall from a match winner / leader in 2018 to his 2019 and 2020 situation, and IF that injury / fitness issue is regarded by experts (not just Demonland posters) as having fully recovered, then maybe Brown could be regarded as surplus. And vice versa, should Brown’s 2020 be related to an injury that he is carrying that does not look like resolving, then would we want him. I am certain that there is a lot more going on than meets the eye.

Another great big Neeld era recruiting stuff up...
And long ago we could have had James Hird at 80+ and Chris Grant at 100+ if I recall correctly. So many recruiters from every club passed over both of them multiple times. But of course had the originator of this post been our recruiting manager all along, we would have the whole bloody AA team.

2020 Demons Goal of the Year
That was a beauty ... very unMelbournian combination of second effort and team set up.

Turf War
And I believe a 2 hour journey to and through BNE airport and a 2 hour flight. Add disembarkation and journey to the ground just in time for the bounce. Disgraceful just to save the AFL a small piece of Gil’s bonus. Actually he was I believe Austrian ??

Burgess and Brayshaw
One of my hobby horses since the early days of ND, when he reputedly got rid of sports psychologists. Could surely do no harm, and possibly a lot of good.

Is it a Colonwood / Eddie plot to get Weed to the Magpies?
-
Neville Jetta
More likely they would Reed and Wright. Sure but depends on how tight list spaces will be and what rôle he would be playing. As someone mentioned earlier, maybe Colonwood are playing mind games.

Neville Jetta
Barassi was the one that broke the club.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Great kudos to Burgess for (helping) get Bennell onto the field, though he never ran full pelt which was a contributor to his being unable to hold a spot and this contributing to his ultimate implosion. However I guess rehab and recovery will always depend on the nature of the injury: whatever was off with Tommy he / they didn’t seem able to get right (at least this year). Maybe they can next year, if he stays. His best was great, and don’t forget he was mooted by quite a few as a future captain.

TMac on the Trade Table?
I am sure everyone knew from day zero that JW was never ever going to be a "beast" along the Jon Brown lines. Not that type of body or persona. So that element was not lack of development on the part of the club.

Straight swap for Preuss. Take it or leave it. ??

TMac on the Trade Table?
As a matter of interest, do you think that it is the coach alone who makes decisions about moving players on?

TMac on the Trade Table?
As I recall, in 2018 Hogan was missing for much of the business end of the season, when Tom played his most valuable football of his career, and Weed had a few good performances but could hardly have been called “in form” when Tom was at his best. What I feel we need before making any moves, and any sensible suitor would do the same, is to get a full evaluation of his injury and fitness status. His best was very good, inspirational at times, and if the assessment is that whatever ails him is recoverable, them why move him on. If not, then would anyone want him anyway?

Is that hardness as in glass? I wasn’t aware of that sad tale. Could very easily account for a form drop, depending on the timing of events.
