  1. I wonder how the whiteboard wednesdays, red and blue print, base camp strategy is going?
  2. Umpire 17. Is he the [censored] that didn't allow Howe's mark in Darwin last year? 100% pure bred officious git.
  3. What about any senior mgt at the club who might have rammed a tanking plan down the throats of players and coaches? Are they (if they exist - who was that sport minister who wiped the whiteboard clean) getting the shove too? Whiteboard Wednesday what bullsh$t
  4. So if the AFL do decide after "investigating" that there will be sanction, McLardy and Cs have a great opportunity to show us they are leaders. I read about all the great work CS has done off the field - I am just not well informed enough about that to have an opinion... But I do remember Whiteboard Wednesdays and I do remember being "told" by CS that getting high draft picks was the way to premiership success... and I've read all the stuff about the player "revolt" before 186, and the reported dramatic changes in who-will-be-sacked. Most of us on D'Land are going on a mixture of emotion, what we've read in the rags and gut feeling - some, I suspect, are well informed but can't say anything about those events. There's been a view about that there's "no point" in raking over all of that stuff, "what would the Club tell us anyway", "don't wash the dirty linen in public" - but one possible finding here is that the Board/CEO influenced the football department to play in a way that the players didn't like (and that the coach didn't like). If that's the case, then we're done - I know other clubs have tanked - this isn't about justice or fairness... this is about a club that is perceived as weak and "stand-for-nothing" (witness Neeld's 3/4 time address against North "It's about time this Club stood for something"). It's about an administration who believed their own press; it's about failure. If indeed that's the case, then I fear we're cooked - and the administration will share a fair percentage of the blame. I would love to know the facts. Go Dees
  5. Not being pushed around. Strauss with the laser boot. A lot will depend on whether Stef Martin can run the game out in the ruck. Don't want to see Col in there again. Ricky P needs to lift- they are really quick out the back.
  6. Don't think he'd be travelling back by car if he had a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) requiring a chest tube, or if he had a significant haemothorax (bleeding around the lung) requiring a chest tube. Sometimes the air or blood can be aspirated (drawn out into a syringe) and a tube isn't required. The report in the paper talks of "suspected" collapsed lung - we don't know what the condition is, really...
  7. It may be MFCSS, but I reckon he's gone. I will apologise if I'm wrong and not gloat if I'm right. He's got the same unsmiling glumness as HWFUO. Really hope I'm wrong.
  8. have a look at the GWS presser - Sheedy bagging Junior about the 'Dees' - what a [censored]. worried about Blease though - probably MFCSS amping up what with Clark in the moon boot with a foot injury..
  9. oh hell - MFCSS would make a real comeback in the frankie_d household - we just don't that sh$t...
  10. Not pleased that he "keeps in touch" with Sam Blease - I am probably jumping at shadows, but sometimes I see the same glumness in Blease that I saw in HWFUO. I really rate Blease and he's getting better every game.
  11. I saw this too - sprinting out of the congestion, ball in hand - no one touched him great - and hopefully a sign of things to come
  12. MCC / MFC member - I really don't like the bugler - lets put that stuff away until we have something other than our tradition to celebrate. Honour before Honours, boys.
  13. This really puzzled me too. Neeld is not a dummy, and not ignorant of the Pies' structures. So why? I'd really like to know - interesting that they stuck with it all quarter and changed at 1/4 time. I wonder if they could have sent the runner out after, say, 5 goals (!) and go man on man with 6 forward and 6 back.
  14. Vastly improved. More of Neeld and Morton will be a beauty. Haters going to hate, I guess
  15. This. I suppose, given the location of the reality bus, we can't say too much. But I look forward to the day when we can bully them off the field too.
  16. Loved Grimes' comment after the game, where he said they knew Essendon wanted to play a free flowing game (can't remember the exact words) and "we wanted it in tight"... I just couldn't help think of the phrase "bruise-free" and how quickly things can change
  17. Just reminding everyone how useful the "ingore" settings are - you can just make people "go away", if you want.
  18. This is the low point of a great few days - I agree with Jose I've just watched the replay, and I saw Jack knock the ball out of Essendon hands when things were tight in close - a completely reflex action - quick as lightning and saved a couple of clearances - these things aren't noticed by the media - and I'm no expert but it proved instructive to watch the replay closely - if you want to relive a bit more of the win, run the tape through looking at Jack in the rucks and malls - not overwhelmning physical presence, but overwhelming smarts and quickness. Go DEES
  19. Just great! Didn't really give this the thought it deserved - Neeld might have been short of defenders, but he chose (I know, maybe a forced choice) to leave Watts on Watson - and he Watts did ok - quite significant I reckon... Just brilliant disposal too - the best in our team. I just have to buy a ticket on the reality bus now - it's so interesting to see D'Land in this mood - no calls to sack anyone! lovely!
  20. BT getting Howe and Nicho and McKenzie and MacDonald mixed up - hopeless, aren't they.
  21. Yep - right in front of me - dog act by Fletcher
  22. Ugly - Fletcher's tackle on Blease - right in front of me - I reckon he dropped his knees into Blease -> injury?
