Those of us around the players race will need to be on the lookout for the [censored]... # demonunity
-
Last time I was at training was the Thursday night before the Grand Final in 1964 - my father was working with the Club. In the rooms after training, some bloke hoists an 8 year old me up on Ronald Dale's shoulders and gives me a footy to hold above my head. Next day, back page of the Herald (the evening paper) is a pic of me on RDB's shoulders with the headline "Youngster takes a screamer over Barassi"!! Then we go and win the GF!!! Not sure tomorrow can top that, but it's much more important - see you there and congrats, waynewussel, for providing the inspiration for so many of us to do the bloody obvious - SUPPORT THE BOYS WHO PULL ON THE RED AND BLUE!

from DM's letter to supporters (yesterday FFS!!!!!) """ He dismissed suggestions that CEO Cameron Schwab and the administration would be under pressure as a result of the performance. He said the future of Schwab – who signed a new contract last season – was not even a consideration. "We believe that our club administration has done extremely well under extraordinary circumstances," McLardy said. "What we need now is on-field performance." """"

Mark Robinson @Robbo_heraldsun " Not any more confident about the demons. Shallow. Lies. political " well, certainlty agree with the "political" bit not our most glorious moment - DM really needs some urgent help and shouldn't be allowed near a presser

this is just awwwwfffffuuuuuuullllllllllllllllllllllll I agree with the decision to get rid of CS, but DM is just, sadly, unable to handle the media................ he's insulting CS by saying he's (CS) polarised the supporter base

DM just said we have a "divided supporter base" - Lots of reasons surrounding CS and the last 4 years - DM blathering, CS cuts in to say that him leaving will clear the air... DM is WAAAAYYYYYYY out of his depth in this conference - CS is defending the board and his sacking 'cos DM is incapable of handling the presser --- how terrible... CS trying to protect DM... just shocking leadership. asked about CS reappointment for 3 years - more mumble and drivel sounds like DM and the board want to clear the 186 air etc etc etc but he can't say that in public... it's a real can of wriggling worms what about yesterday's letter - there will be no sudden changes !!! again DM on about "divided supporter base the CS polarises"...

If Junior won't come back to the MFC until CS is gone, then CS must go. Really simple

MCC members - here's something you can DO
frankie_d replied to frankie_d's topic in Melbourne Demons
Point 1. All our supporters who are MCC members should become MFC members too. For obvious reasons. Point 2. All our supporters ought to sit either with the Cheer squad or with the MFC members. Now is NOT the tone to be sitting in Q41. -
1. If you haven't taken up a mFc membership then ring up and DO SO. The joint membership isn't much and gives the Club membership = revenue 2. Sit in the mFc members area. You can still go to the long room for a drink at 1/2 time (once you put your tie on!). We all need to support our players. The admin and board can GAGF, but nows the time to support the blokes wearing the red and blue. Never mind that you think some of them are spuds-they are wearing our colours and need our support.
-
This is just central to our success - we can't just tune in on the w'end and then drop off for the week - the Club is imperilled, and needs our support - not CS, JM, but each and every player - even if you don't like them, or think they're spuds - they still pull on the red and blue - let's cut the crap, and cut out the middle men and support our team - all the days, all the time
-
In... See as many as possible at training this week??
-
Response from the club: """ Thank you for your email. The Club is currently still in the process of confirming the open training time for this week. We are certainly conscious that there are supporters who are eager to attend and we will endeavour to have this information available shortly. All updates will posted on the training times page on the MFC website. Many thanks for your support. """ So, this is good...

DM - mumble mumble - it's all the players/coached/FD fault (FMD!!@!#$@#$#@%#@$@!#@!$#@%#@%#$@!#!@#) - believes that the board/CEO is strong - the FD is letting us down - What about 186/CS/DB stuff??? - ignored the question and gave a different answer CS good with business side of things and is now a good boy... ask the players/coaches - they will tell you that CS's influence is a positive

Craig not good enough - not near it want to develop winning culture - part of that is handling these times in correct manner and use it to you advantage this must be an opportunity needed to be used rohan connoly - unravelled early, no pressure, no tackling - how could this be after port thrashing - anyone can tackle etc - thus supporter angst nc - agreed! people want to see effort - effort not seen last night - again, actions during training not going over to the game - need a realistic optimist about the future and yet deal with the current issues why open up the pregame - haven't they got enough pressure as it is... nc - media a stakeholder - some responsibilty to them - but was that group ready for it (coaches and players) ?? r walls - couldn't believe what he saw - watts staring at the floor - what's going on??? nc - well, bad outcome s lucas - what are the non-negotiables of the game plan?? nc - yep - watching the game you wouldn't know.. the non-negs are combative effort, desire to compete, intensity, urgency, see in training, not in games - saw a bit of it in nab cup but not for 4 points - forget about the game plan until the competitiveness is there. s lucas - what did you make of comments of Watts "we don't have any leaders - other clubs have them, we dont" nc - mumble mumble r walls - insult to n jones - who should be captain - nc - context was different from the media - but sort of agreed - said grimes / jones outstanding in port adelaide game, and both tried to stand up in the essendon game don't know who - what about the crap culture of the mfc and the repeated attempts to change the culture - and the coaches can't fix it compared to Adelaide nc - can't argue against the win/loss ratio - thinks the coaches are ok. - then mumble mumble how hard it is to change culture how far away are mfc? commentators reckon they are miles away... nc - don't know - really don't know - to change a culture you need strong people - leadership - saying this to members: this current playing group want to change the culture to a successful one and one that people want to belong to ... (seems like he's admitting the current culture isn't that...) need to be strong and up for the fight sl - what is the message from CS and DM? nc - msg is those sort of performances are not up to standard - think the board has handled things in the last 12 months in a professional way, now the next stage is to get the playing group into order ?? - what about the weak players - how about picking the strongest characters to play nc - ability is important, but need to have strong and competitive players - mfc have them - but gets it that our actions don't mirror our words... jones and grimes are oozing with the qualities we need ?? - observations of what MN might need for support nc - part of his role to support MN - I'll do my best walls - recruiting - pederson and rhodan both dropped after second game - wtf?? are mfc second guessing ourselves nc - carefully considered selection - reassess group each week mumble mumble - ever been associated with a club at this low an ebb? nc - NO (FMD....) real challenge - loving the challenge - in it from the long hall nc - no interest in coaching AFL again - (really clear about that) - next weeks game - what must we see from mfc nc - energy urgency intensity - keep going - it will emerge from this playing group not much really...
