Good pick up. Still an amazing osition for a team that the coach even acknowledges has a forward structure thats a work in progress.

End of Round 6. Dees have most points for, and 6th fewest against. Pies and Bombers dropped significant % today. Doesn't mean much at present but leaves a nice feeling till at least Saturday evening.

True but the swans game sure looked elite to me. C.f. the rubbisg freo served up last night.

We weren't treated respectfully in that deal and was upsetting. But seeing last night's game , and Luke's inputs, I now have moved on and am sympathetic to him, knowing that last night he saw his future. Its a shame really because inside an elite club/team (us) he would thrive (cue 2021) and money can't buy that feeling. Just hope he's happy and content in other ways.
  6. yes, they never do, but Chandler at half back is just plain hilarious.
  7. Me too. At the time we couldn't understand the booing of Hunter as the Dogs let him go, he was happy to stay with them. So why boo him doggies fans? A bit of pantomine. I'm very happy to see Baker having a good shot at the Dogs. he did well last night.
  8. Laurel and hardy now on selection panel. Chandler hbf Mcvee hff. At least maxy and hibberd are back. I reckon they didnt risk hibberd last week to ensure he's ok for dusyy on monday
  9. You raise a good point though deeTrac. And yes it would be cool. I can see Pert and Roffey making this announcement a big deal as it is, locking away the golden generation ( as Craig Foster would describe it - and apolgies to lesser lights on the list still not signed). Trac, Oliver, Gawn, Viney May, lever, Grundy, Gus, Trent,......then Kozzie. A big message to send to the football world about a club culture which would then enabale further attractive players to be traded into us over the next few years. Fingers crossed.

Spot on comments in the face of catastrophising on here at present. First line on the 10-0 sums up for sure. And look where we ended up. Goody and staff have learnt from that. Its whether we are healthier at Round 24 that matters. I have us equal 2nd at Round 10. Jonathon Brown/Buckley last night noted the Dees "...looked like a team that played in Perth last week..." Red-eye home, 5 day break. What did we think would happen??? (me included I'll admit, but the Bombers are huge improvers) Efforts against Dogs and Swans were awesome. Many on here hate the Scott boys but refuse to conceed they are both first-rate coaches. Not done yet , but just get to the final round in good health is my hope , unlike last season.

Why is JHF the subject of booing anyway. A serious question coz I'm out of the loop and just wondering. What's Hinkley so upset about? Goodes booing was straight out racially based and he was hounded out thanks to weak AFL approach.

Radar at Adelaide is looking very promising.
  13. Dees win today, AND Pies get the job done tomorrow (which they will as another pretender a la Blues goes down), Monday morning the MFC is top of the ladder. Then come and get us.
  14. Best 22 member of any other AFL team. He choose Dees and that speaks volumes for him and the club. Good work Trent.

Many thanks. Still weird that we need music after a goal. I reckon the power's INXS song is in the same vein. And we're into Metallica so ......

Can anyone explain to me the whole John Denver song thing at the Gabba. West Virginia ,, etc, etc, ????? Is it a Queensland thing only they would understand???
  17. I reckon it just demonstrates the professionalism of the club. Pull out all stops to keep a generational player. The article was adamant that its not a cash issue. So the Club understands this and well done for using the Byron connection as part of the selling team. Kudos to Byron also . The Dees are clearly best fit if Kossie can make Melbourne work as a place to live. I suspect Byron understands this also.
  18. Drop anchor and turn around to be back for a big September! !!!!

True about the Bombers but I think the AFL finally did something worthwhile giving the Saints the stage for their 150th celebration at the G. 70,000 fans agree. But watching the Saints new Lyon-style play I suspect yet again it won't get it done in September against other current Top 4 contenders (including us) but they'll have a good ride this year.
  20. A day too Early ??? After AA Defender Steven May gets hold of him tomorrow. Good one Deeman.!
  21. Speaking from experience (not mine btw) His licence will be suspended because of points. If it was speeding or drink driving it would be a court matter, unless the level was very low, but if that was the case it would have made the Herald Sun front page. It didn't. I was on 12 points and was given 2 options - keep driving and one more point in 12 months reults in suspension for a year, OR take a suspension now or 3 months. I risked the 12 month 'probabtion' which was tricky but OK in the end. I suspect Maysy was on the limit and overstepped speeding wise. easily done on the Monash freeway going to casey maybe. I'm surprised there aren't more suspended drivers on the road given the sheer cost of getting back the licence (if it was due to alcohol). I'll be cheering him on either way Sunday arvo.
  22. Nathan Buckley on SEN this morning spoke rather elegantly about the impact emotionally Max going down had on the team. He said "...the team lost its skipper and leader and both Max and the team felt it was an ACL at the time...." Buckley cut the team a lot of slack as a result. More than just losing a key ruckman, it was the emotional side of seeing Max clearly upset that he believed affected a alrge number of the team. All good now though he thought.

Too true nothing is certain. I am counting on an easy 9relatively) draw and Max's knee coming good. Right now I'd be happy at being 5th to 8th
  24. David King in SEN this morning said jackson must be saying to himself ..."... what AM I doing here..." in relation to both Freo and Freo's forward line.

Looks like we may have found the two teams that statistically fail to make the 8 the next season. Dogs and Dockers. Dogs I get but Freo should be better on 2022. The average is 2.7 teams, so maybe the cats? Can only dream.
