Me too. Every year, at least 2 teams slip out of the Final 8, sometimes 3. The av is 2.7. Lets say its 2 teams fall out. I reckon Freo are in the frame to be one of them. Maybe Dogs too. Blues and Power to come in. The rest Tiges, Lions Dees, cats, swans, Pies (maybe), keep their spots. Freo's picks may well be attractive.

Trac, Clarry, Viney et al........ - now there are the culture leaders that everyone follows. He's still a kid barely 22. None of us know his personal priorities and should not take his ambition to return home personally IMO

The best bit so far is that the club (Goody and Gawn and some others?) met with Grundy and he walked out with Dees as the destination - Dees a destination club then in my book. . He also understands he is in an absolute strong position bargaining-wise with the Pies and I suspect he will use that strength also. This will be the story in the media next week.

I look at the top 10 and think what a group of talent like Iv'e never seen before. Sure Goody and Dees have some issues but with hard work and smart recruiting I'm looking forward to 2023 to watch this list grow again. (Someone here a while ago predicted LJ would be 15th - close at 14th) ahead of only compromised layers. Dissappointing end to an heroic 3 years with us. Insightful query Redsox. On 2021 performance, the culture improvements came first over the 2020 off season, caring/sharing concepts embraced etc. Then we win a flag. Just an example, there's many facets to good culture. But having the talent is mandatory also. As we have. Then in 2022 we win the first 10 - no drinking bathwater here IMO. (as Jake Niall incorrectly assessed at the start of the season) I held the cup on one of its many regional whistle stops and joined 35,000 others at the G last December. Geelongs cup is now sitting at Kardinia Park. Come on down if you want to see it I guess for their fans elsewhere. Very comfortable where we are. keeping/saving Adem Yze from a fate worse than death by joining the Bombers is just a bonus now for continuity into 2023. Sure we have issues but none are insurmountable with the foundations firmly in place.

Not necessarily. The only way to leave the members is to scan your card to get out . Will the MCC be smart enough to do a search of those who took leave passes and check timing of the scan. ? Maybe? The system will have that info. I spent the 3rd 1/4 not watching the game and came back to my seat and the area was only half full. Plenty had left by that time, me too just after start of last. Very limited atmosphere for a GF IMO.

Much admired young Jack Henry yesterday before the bounce Buddy was hugely aggressive towards him - push and shove etc. Henry simply absorbed the aggression and re-took his post next to Buddy each time he was pushed away.. Never engaged emotionally. Take Note Steven May. Then went on to comprehensively beat him in any contests. Buddy's been shown up by May and no longer has the tricks, based on the GF and our final. Farewell year for him in 2023, but IMO another example of a true champ going too long. Now a reveiw on the issues is needed and has been initiated. Everyone gets their say but the players and families involved in Egan's process had every right to tell their story to Egan's team. As usual in Australia, its up to the ABC to expose appalling behaviour coz no-one else does. Based on the game style now of Swans, Cats and Pies, I think the 2021 approach by Goodwin has now passed its use by date. I just hope he is evolving strategy - wise and not looking to recruit to replicate last year. It won't fly any longer and we'll end up 8th to 5th again IMO.
