  1. The remaining fixture is now seriously compromisd by the Eagles pathetic output and a disgrace to the compretition. There's no fix to this. Hang you head - again - Gil. Evidence: Eagles play 5 teams in the 8 and three teams seriously vying for the Eight( tiges , blues and Freo). And one Dud - Kangas. Those missing out from now, Pies, Power and Us greatly disadvantaged. Given our position as 4th on %, we have the biggest risk of failing to make Top four given ALL four teams from 5th to 8th currently have the Eagles jackpot coming their way %-wise. I know I'm stating the bleeding obvious, but gee this should focus Goody and the team that we have a stacked deck, but possession is 9/10ths of the law so its in our hands at least.
  2. Tom Stewart will love it.
  3. Love you comment on Fritsch. I comfort myself on his 6 goals in a gf and personally was key to saving us in 3rd quarter. Plus he has a medal. The AA does suck. Bit like the brownlow. Fairest and best midfielder only.
  4. Whats a big call.? I don't think ed can fix our fowards. It worked fine in a chaotic manner against the pies. Who knows how we will go against the cats.
  5. I hope so. Tomlinson enabled May and Lever to return to premierdhip form. If goody goes back to no 3rd tall and petty plays forward then he's being too cute by half. Here's hoping he remembers what helped deliver him a flag. Otherwise Scott will out coach him - again
  6. You have used the terms "..lack of consistency.." and "...AFL..." in the same post. There's your clue to why this has occurred. It happened last season I think also. Apply the same concept to umpiring quality, home ground allocation, interstate trips, Cats/MCG opponents fixture, oppostion visits to Kardinai Park, tanking penalities(or not e.g Matthew Kreuzer Cup, Bryce Giibs Cup..) and of couse Tribunal shemozzle..........
  7. I guess today is 'flat track bully' territory, but it is in our interests for the Blues to keep hoping so at least they might snare a fluke win over our top 4 competitors for the rest of the season. We don't want them losing ALL hope just yet. Still I'm tipping a 13th finish for them.
  8. Fair question for sure. I've got Port beating Bombers, suns, Blues, Pies, Giants, Dockers at Optus, Tiges. Losing to Crows at AO, Cats at GMHBA, 9Possible on both counts - Crows going well and cats hard to knock off at home by anyone. Long shot I know, and have Dees not losing again, but here's hoping. Our risk is Saints and marvel and next week at the Cattery. Win next week and its a real chance. % will possibly get us there. I watched in person the dismantling of the Pies, so probably recency bias as Whately would say.
  9. My ladder predictor exercise after last night says that IF we can beat the cats next week, top of ladder finish is now a possibility on percentage from Pies and Power. Power finishing top relies on a couple of tough wins needed for them. Lose to the cats and not possible. Better chance of second, third more possible, at least allowing a minimum home final in week two. Just saying having seen the Dees live last week.
  10. Happy to: Page 42-43 of todays online edition. Don't now if its in the paper version. I would have added one more - something about Trac's Norm Smith medal maybe. But below is a cut and paste of the article "...ON THE COACH’S WHITEBOARD Before you go, here are ... Five key lines Snap Shot believes Demon Christian Petracca was entitled to say when giving Pie Mason Cox a bit of his own medicine after Melbourne beat the Magpies on Monday. Do you want to see my premiership medallion Coxy? 60 Minutes might be a thrill for you but try playing 120 minutes for once mate. While Beverley Hills near Doncaster might not be Beverly Hills California, it’s better than Texas. Do you want me to get you Ben Simmons autograph? Gus and Gawny wallops the Mason Cox podcast IMO...."
  11. Funny how you can change an opinion on someone as actions speak louder than words as you say Jaded. I have changed my mind on Maynard also, sure he's thuggish and sees himslef as an enforcer - cue the Langdon incident, which didn't require much courage from him last year - and his attack on Joel Smith after the rundown by Joel (and huge kudos fo young JVR for flying thr flag bigtime), but Maynard's approach after the Cox incidnet was measured and thoughtful, dare I say professional getting involved and helping Max out. Same goes for Pendles. I loved the way Trac just walked off and left Cox shouting after him. The Age today has 5 hypothectical responses Trac could let fly with that are both amusing and close to the truth w.r.t. Cox. In Trac's head I suspect he moved on days ago.
  12. Not me either. Just one of a number of quirky dees players and staff (looking at you chocco) Led by the afl's most intetesting skipper. But gee they can play as well
  13. So a year ago it was 'All duck or no dinner' and Ed gets crunched for it. He was on the money then, and MFC showed yesterday that if the corridor is denied to the Pies they are just another good team with problems when their first choice strategy is addressed by the opposition. The talk now primarily will be how the Dees unlocked the Pies game plan. Good coaches elsewhere will be taking notice. The trick will be having the talent to execute. Well done Ed.
  14. Thanks Wise- best read of the morning so far and agree with remarks on Tomlinson, spargo. Joel Smith and Tomlinson grabbed their chances and were instrumental in the second half. Well done to them. After the Cox kerfuffle Max was great in putting his arm between Cox who wanted to go on with it, and Trac. Cox is all duck or no dinner with a big mouth and doesn't understand the context of the game. Poor sportsmanship by him. Rivers having a fantatsic year. Kudos to Pendlebury in embracing Trac after that moment. Two class acts.
  15. Brayshaw error fest. Protect the corridor or else .
  16. 5 premiership players.
  17. The Eagles are now an afl scandal how they are rendering the almost compromised fixture an embarrassment and doenright unfair system. Call in the stewards
  18. Huge faith in these two to fly the flag. Not the mosr skilled but give 110% and never shirk an issue.
  19. I'm with you on this. Port aren't scary for us if we get things right by finals.
  20. I loathe the Doggies when we play them as much as anyone, and they get umpiring armchairs often, but last night they were absolutely cruelled by substandard umpiring at crucial times in the last 1/4, and some of those officals should get please explains from someone. Goaline shepherd was shocking and means TMac's magnivificanr effort was illegal in 2021 GF. two clear 50m penelaities not paid. I suspect the umpire thought it was a marking contest and baker had eyes on the player and not the ball - but really? Terrible. Best team won but thats not the point. When I go I'm just resigned to this season being so subjective at times decision-wise I just have to bear the errors and non-decisions and move on. Really poor for a so-called professional sport.
  21. I wonder if given his tank, Goody gives ANB first shot at run-with all over the ground on N.Daicos. He must be made accountable and bumped/pushed etc at evry opportunity. he's not going to outrun Nibbler?
  22. Tomlinson stays. 7 cm taller than hibberd. No cooincidence imo May and Lever had best game of the seadon with 2021 looking defence. Hibberd in for Bowey. Maybe takes Elliot
  23. In the U.S. its called the 12th man effect at the Srattle Seahawks. The loudest recorded crowd at any world sporting event at 130 plus decibels. But i bet they're not moronic like the filth.
  24. Absolutely you're forgiven Winners. Last year I sat level 1 in mcc area. It was a Zoo and i lodged written complaint to club. Goodness knows what rest of ground will be like. Take comfort that the filth attendees are all contributing to our already multi million future fund coffers. This year I'm queuing to try and get a walk up seat closer to civilisation. Filth fans en masse are appalling.
  25. Not the worst idea DeeZee. Moore needs to be accountable. Smith, if given this sole task, can match him athletically. Other teasm have put work inot May and Lever. let's hope we do the same and Goody and MC don't go down the arrogant path thy di against Power and th battle of the midfields.
