The only fact I know of is that he and the FD were in the meeting for 1.5 hours vs the normal 30 minutes. After that I know nothing . My theory is that meeting set the wheels in motion. The only restrictive was cost of paying him out. It appears that on friday with the AFL giving the nod on assistance he was gone.

I agree to the extent that we still have the same poor group of players to put on the park. The up side as I see it is that someone in the club ( probably PJ ) has made the decision Neeld cannot produce the results. The members / fans / sponsors also need confidence that there is a chance of improvement. I havemy fingers crossed we can some how scrap up a couple of wins before seasons end. This might just do it. It also might give us a chance of keeping a couple of players on our list for 2014.

Stuie that is a nice way of disguising the fact that it is the reserve of the reserves for an AFL team.I also get a little tired of this " he was playing a certain role" Sounds like excuses to me. We made similar excuses for Cook, Maric, Gysberts, Bennel and numerous others. Now I have not written Barry off, I just thing he is starting very slowly. As always time will tell.

I don,t disagree with most of what you say PJAt present it seems we are in a deep hole. I cannot get away from a couple of facts. - The current board approved the reversal of CS getting flung in 2011 and then reappointing for an extra 3 years a few months back then flung him. Seems amateur hour in a big way. we are now begging the AFL to save us. - this board has guided us to position were our team is the worst in the Comp and irrelevant to the competition. IMO on both counts they should as a group stand down. At this point with the exception of DM this has not happened. They can of course hang on till the AGM in February. This would be a disaster as it would mean a bun fight until the brink of the 2014 season. I am hoping that common sense will prevail and somewhere between now and the end of August the board stands down or call an EGM so the matter can be resolved. It appears to me that right now we have silence from the incumbents and Jeff saying he is willing to take over. Not a lot of information for any of us to work on. Beyond the above I know no more than anyone else on here. In this situation I would vote for Jeff in the absence of any other alternative to the current board but it is very early days god knows were this will end up.

Back to the topic. Sweet Pea I think you are close to the mark with your list. Too many Dees supporters think our list is way better than it is and blame the coach. I have little idea if Neeld can coach or not but when you only 14 AFL standard player it is next to impossible I would think. IMO our list is easily the worst in the competition. It has taken 8 years to reduce it to this level. It will take 2 -3 to make it even competitive.

I agree RB He is no world beater but is a seasoned player who can justify his selection each week and contribute. We don't have many of those. The problem is it will only happen if he wants to stay, we don't have much bargaining power.
