And he has a record of injuries, 32 games in 4 years is an average of 8 per year he would want to put in a couple of 20 game years before I would be considering him for any more than a player. To be a leader first you have to be on the park.

If he was not our father and son player and he was available at out first pick would we take him? Yes of course. Chances are that if he keeps up this years form he would be no.1 pick next year. And we get him with a lot higher pick. Just use our first pick he is worth it. Forget all the rest. -

Hi rfpc just bit of fun mate. It is September lets all relax, lighten up and enjoy the off season. Plenty of time to be back at it in March. Go Dees -
The main problem for Rivers is the ball goes into our backline twice as often as the Pies. Swap the players and then see how good maxwell is !

Spot on bd. He still managed to kick 31 goals in a poor year. Not sure we have another 31 goal kicker amongst our forwards ready to step up and takes his place. Also do not think he was helped much this year with poor delivery. I would hate to see him lost at this point!

I agree BB I was just having a good humoured go at you. Thought you might have had a bit too much lubrication on Friday night. Mine is a pies supporter so you can imagine the crap here at present. I am trying to keep my expectations low for 2012 after the disaster of 2011. -

You are right Robbie I am worried. If he is ready to go the first year that probably makes him no good for the future. Perhaps a trade might be the best. I am sure there are numerous skinny 18 year olds in next years draft who will break down with foot injuries etc at Casey. Lets get the deal done quickly! PS how is Mrs. Robbie? -
At this point he does not have a contract! If it was close you would have thought it would have been done before Friday night. We are surely not looking at another Jnr. eposide! I reckon it is another he wants two years the MFC is saying one. Seems he was low profile on Friday night. Or am I reading too much into this?

Interesting that our captain and vice captain finished 11th and 26th in the B&F. Probably explains why we were so poor for most of the year! -
We surely must have a bit available after that other bloke leaving. Whatever it takes for mine rpfc.

Striker this will sound negative but I will say it anyway. None of these guys run out on the ground.. It will be the same basic lot as 2011. These eight guys have the job in front of them. I hope we show a big improvement too.

Now BB lets not let the enthusiasm of new coaching staff and good signs for jimmy get the cart before the horse. The team in 2012 will be almost the same lot that performed so well this year. I seriously doubt we will be much better in 2012. The best I think we can hope for is one or two more wins, reduce the number of large losing margins and no 30 goal losses. We are IMO 6-7 players short of being a team capable of making it to 7th or 8th spot. The coaches name is Mark Neeld not Jesus Christ! -
Demondave did watch the game last night? Dawes kept the Pies in it. If the dees do not make a play for this guy we are out of our brains. He is just what we need big tough does not get pushed aside and kicks goals. Do not see too many of those at the MFC

Now I truely appreciate your admiration of big Jim. But is now Saturday Morning WYL it is now the cold light of day. I watched the game last night and sad to say the MFC is not in the same league as the two sides last night. No wonder they both belted us this year. My cold hard appraisal is that we are at least 5 years from the standard required to play in a GF. JC could not get the Dees into a GF in 2012 let alone win it. We will just have to happy with a small improvement in 2012. -

And as well all the players mention have at various times made game winning performances. We have had bugger all of those types. We have had a captain this year that has struggled to justify his spot in the team As well the MFC comes across to lots of outside fans as upper crust snobs. But the most simple answer is we do not rate. TV puts on people who draw a crowd. The MFC is poor at that. We start winning games and making the finals and watch the player numbers rise on the show. -
Just a joke there PSD!!!!!
-
I did not realise his value was that low. I think he would be good at GWS.
-
But surely you pick a few for what they can do in the next year or two!
-
Was just about to agree with most of what Pennant said. I still struggle with why nearly every draft pick we have made over last couple of years is a long term pick. A complete list of kids will not get the job done any time soon. In fact you can make a case than young players getting constantly beaten by big margins learn very little. except how to accept defeat. Surely we need a mix of ages and development!
-
BB I have been saying your last paragraph for the last year. We should all remember that we finished 13th, had a 186 point loss and lost a lot of games by big margins. Neeld has the job in front of him. I pray a lot of these kids step up soon.
