Come on HT be honest did you in your wildest dreams think it would be this bad? I believe i went into 2012 with modest expectations for the year based on a lot of what you say. but I did not think we would go seriously backwards from 2010 both on and off the field

Far from it. Just stop trying to say all is wonderful. I will give you the benefit of the doubt but it gets very difficult to discuss why we are such a poorly performed side when every player raised is ok. "Just give him time or he has only been at the club 4 years or 65 games is hardly enough to judge". I am not sure if a lot on here have noticed but we are fifth last on the ladder. In danger of loosing either or both of the last two games. We have an administration that is far from harmonous No Coach for 2012 have lost a game by 186 points this year, and have lost the last 5 games by an average of 80 points Seems to me there are a lot of problems. Please look at the problem pieces.

No 186 point losses in those year from memory and we have more 9+ goal losses this year than in either of those years. We had excuses in 2008/9 we were bottom out and re building What does it take to admit we are very ordinary!

And have the highest loosing game margin in 20 years, be fifth last on the ladder, have lost more games by 9+ goals than in 2008 and be unable to beat Richmond. We are not covering ourselves in glory at present are we!

Hope you believe when I say I am not having a go at you. But this is what is wrong at the MFC, "Doing his best to be who he is meant to be" Does not cut it. We accept medicority too often at Melbourne. Green was all Australian last year, it may be coincidence but since he got the job his form has been poor. If he was not the captain he would have been at Casey weeks ago. He seems a nice guy but that is not enough. He is a poor captain in poor form in a side that will most likely finish in the bottom four. Those are the facts. One more year is not an option. Out for someone who (a) deserves their spot in the team and ( b )someone who can inspire the team. If he is lucky his form will improve in 2012 and he will get a game. Right now he does not deserve one.

If only Green, Dunn, Bate and Davey had been as bad as him this year!

I did with a nice little Pinot Gris. I few weeks back I suggested a trade might be in order for AD But unfortunately there would be no takers at present. Have we seen the last of him? I think he has a contract for next year but I am not sure where you play him nowadays. Perhaps the summer lay off may produce a better result in 2012. I think miracles are all that is left now.

I don't think I will make it to next sunday the prospect of going down to the GC is too horrible to contemplate. But sunday is 6 days away!

Everyone seems to be ignoring it from yesterday but in a game lost by 7 points A certain Mr. Miller with 3 goals seems to have rubbed our noses in it!

Last night I returned home a very sad fan. Another year has come to end again with a whimper. Like so many previous years I started with enthusiasm and expected a reasonable improving performance on the previous year. After some improved performances and a good draw I thought 2011 may get us very close to eighth spot. But alas the all too often "Melbourne season" unfolded. Poor results and numerous beltings followed by the coach being sacked and then problems in the administration. Once again the season ends with my club being the butt of jokes about "no bruise " football and down hill skiers etc. The end of this misery looks no closer than the majority of the last 47 years. I ask myself why do I go on? I have no idea what the answer is. I am too old to end my affair with the MFC but I am getting weaker. Normally there is always next year but right now I am struggling with this concept. What if this is my lot? What if this is the best it gets at the MFC? God I hope not but may be it is? Perhaps the "Storm" is the solution. They seem to be every thing that the MFC is not!
