Big Jim there is as much chance of the Dees playing finals football next year as there is of me be signed up as an Astronaut. We have 5 or 6 good players 10 Average players and at this point no game breaker. A reasonable amount of improvement may come from this group but Finals is beyond them

I am up here in Brisbane and went to the game. You are 100% correct rpfc With Clark, Davey and Jones in our side we would have beaten the Lions. They had a functioning forward line and we did not. That in my opinion was the difference.

I Came up here on Saturday morning to see the big match ( brother lives here ) Saturday night discovered Jamar was out for Spenser And Jones would be out. Add those to the ones we knew about I felt like driving back to the airport. Then we lose Mcdonald mid first quarter and it was really a case of half a dozen good players trying to carry a bunch of either players who are not good enough for AFL level football or has beens who cannot cut it anymore at AFL level. We simply had no Forwards today we started 2012 with almost all the same bunch who produced the "day at Geelong" Then we have lurched from one disaster to the next as player after player has gone down with injury. We are now a shell of the players that started 2012. The only positives I could see from today were martin and the fact that we actually did not toss in the game at any point. The future looks very grim I think the MFC need the addition of 8 good classplayers for 2013. Of course we will not get them you just cannot replace 8 players in one season. If we do not get Jamar, Davey, Jones, McDonald back next week it is going to be a sad belting by Richmond. If 2012 is not the worse year I have watched the dees it will do till 2013 comes around. PS At least I cannot blame No.7

Sorry Redleg no amount of fitness will cover a lack of skill and desire. Back to WA for me. Lets face it we are third last on the ladder 5 years into a rebuild. We must have a number of players that are not AFL standard. No. 7 is not on his own but in 9 weeks time 5-6 players should be for the high jump. IMHO no7 is in the lead group

Spencer, Martin amd Bennell ( cannot believe I am saying this) from last weeks side are in Brisbane Did we expect a lot more. Two of the three played very good games and the third was ok. Take them out and they are going to struggle. Big surprise!

DC as I understand it the emergencies travel to interstate games in case someone comes down sick etc on the morning of the game. I remember Davey and two others travelled to Perth earlier in the year as emergencies. There was talk at the time they might get the late flight back to play with Casey. That never happened so they played for neither side that weekend. There is the added problem this weekend with the start of school holidays that the flights are booked solid. I am going to Brisbane tomorrow morning and tried to change flights. No seats in any class Saturday or Sunday. So no chance of rushing someone to brisbane.

I have no idea jonesbag if he had a cold or not. It was a discussion with "goodoil" who said he was not considered for the Lions game because he had a virus early in the week. I was making a smart remark as I don't think he was ever going to play in the lions game. I also notice he is listed for Casey on the weekend. Does that explain it?

Yes I know where you were aiming Jaded. Just could not resist. From memory last week was his first full game back from injury and prior to the broken jaw his form had not been wonderfull. Probably needs another couple of weeks at Casey

H_T Cook is developing slowly at Casey. He started the year slowly after a serious injury at the end of 2011 he has played a couple of two quarter games that have looked good the rest is average. He is seriously under weight for the AFL. Why feed him to the wolves because we have lost Clark. And has come from a long way back and IMO opinion needs more time at Casey.

I am happy for you be right Deeoldfart. I am going to this game and do not want to endure another loss But I just do not see us beating the lions at the Gabba when you consider the relative form of both sides over the last few weeks. And there is no Clark.

Have you noticed who the Lions have beaten in the last couple of weeks. WCE Seem to remember they towelled us fairly easily And the dogs by ten goals,hmm think they fixed us up easily as well. Hope you have not forgotten the first game at the G. And remember it is at the Gabba. Lions by 6 goals I reckon

He has a terrible run of Injuries They must be bad, he is a slow healer or he is the unluckest guy around. Whatever way you look at it half a game in 2012 is a poor return so far.
