IMO RR 2013 is about getting good experienced players into our team. 2014 in our current predictment is a lifetime away. Lets go after the getables for 2013. If he is any good and we may not know till 2014. The que will stretch to about 17 chances.

Let me remind you we have 1 win and 10 losses The only two teams below us have played a collective of 44 games in the competition The four above us have won 4 times as many games as us Our average losing margin is almost 10 goals and was 7 goals last week. We will not have a player in the all australian squad this year or the first 30 players for that matter. Now you tell me what is there to be happy about with our playing stocks at present. Not a lot. when it comes to our on field ability we are pityfull we have gone nowhere in five years. Now people are responsibility for that. BB I think you are over estimating our position. We are still in the terminal mate. We have no idea what airline we are on and the board says "no flights today".

That will be 5 long seasons by the end of this year wyl. Unless a miracle occurs over the next three months we will be in the same state we were in on the field as five years ago the questions will not so easily put off.

redleg I find the arguement that a whole lot of other people past him up so the MFC did no wrong difficult to swallow. We select and pay our recruiting people to be better than the rest. It justifys nothing to me, all I think is we missed him pure and simple.

I do not think there is any doubt Nic has talent. IMO he will be in best player from that years draft in 5 years time. So maybe we got the second best player from that year. If that is the way it pans out so be it. I will be happy with the seocnd best player from that year. It will be way better than the guy we took the year after!

Jaded Cook was selected in the 2010 draft as our first pick. To me that means by 2012 you would expect him to be showing a bit more than he has up to now. Did I expect him to be winning games for us now - no The problem as I see it is we have used a number of high draft picks on guys who are looking ordinary. The team is performing very poorly and we are looking at our stocks for improvement. In that light it is not hard to see why people are looking at Cook and saying "is this another poor pick." I have little idea if he will justify his first round selection or not. I pray he becomes very good but I have a worrying feeling in my gut that it looks like it will 2014 before he is physically up the job of senior football.

I agree with your basic premise TT we must improve fairly quickly. However it is still not possible to change over large numbers of players quickly. Where do you get replacements who are any better? The best you can hope for is three or four a year.. Leaving out your first couple of draft picks who will probably always be kids who take time. It will take 2 - 3 years to make substantial changes to our list We are IMO in a similar position to where we were at the end of 2007. Pray a few that do not look the goods at present show big improvements
