Oliver's Weapons of Mass Distribution
John Crow Batty replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
In The Age player of the year votes currently 17 of the top 20 vote leaders are midfielders. Oliver is not one of them nor any other of our midfielders from the highest ranked clearance and contested possession team ATM. Unfair or perhaps a sign that our midfield is the best balanced unit of them all. -
If Fugazi could be turned into a footballer it would be Niknat.

Speaking of snow, I’d like to see this headline after QB. “Pies buried in avalanche after Demon blizzard. Dees schuss away with the 4 points”. -
Any injuries to the current midfield and he will be first choice back in.

Jake Lever injury - Confirmed ACL
John Crow Batty replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Gawn has had two ACL’s in 2009 and 2012. Also had another serious knee injury. He got over all three of them. -
Jake Lever injury - Confirmed ACL

Just goes to show how injuries can ruin a season. Not there yet but pray we don’t lose one or two more important players for the long term this season. -
OK so Richmond have a fraction better percentage now but if they lose next round and we win we will still overtake them.

Jake Lever injury - Confirmed ACL

I hope it’s not as bad as it could be but if the worst it just means we have to deal with it. We won’t be a great side if we can’t deal with these kind of setbacks. We have the depth and talent to cover. -
I am sure the heat of Alice and the short break took the edge off the midfield somewhat, hence the poor clearance work.
-
Maybe Fritsch can replace Lever? Seems handy in any position he plays.
-
It was ugly and smashed in the clearances. Looked like we were going to crack in the first quarter. It was brutal. Coasted to an easy victory in the end.
-
Midfield need to work harder on the clearances. That’s what’s keeping the dogs in the game.

Hit by the fugazi bus.

Let’s go “stucazzo” on all the fugazi makers today.

It’s a cold night. Will park myself in front of the telly for Swan/Blues game with a hot cup of camomile tea, a hot water bottle and hope to be asleep by 9pm.

Over at the Doggies supporter forum . . .

If the players start drinking bath water again then it’s cold showers for them. -
What’s really changed since our last loss?
John Crow Batty replied to The team we love's topic in Melbourne Demons
We were showing signs of things to come in round one. We had 23 more inside 50’s against the cats but couldn’t score. They were on the ropes for the entire second half but we couldn’t punish them. Now that we are converting these dominant inside 50’s it makes for a snowballing effect. Piling on constant scoreboard pressure makes us stand taller in all aspects whilst the opposition wilt. -
Carlton fans will be treated to another goalless feast and consequently most of us will miss it.

John Northey thins we are going OK https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/northey-these-demons-can-go-all-the-way-20180528-p4zi12.html -
John Northey thinks we are good enough to go all the way. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/northey-these-demons-can-go-all-the-way-20180528-p4zi12.html

I see a lot of similarities with the Lions circa 2001. Indifferent start to the season but showed promise. Then clicked. They had a similar list of great talent spread and versatility. Hogan is starting to look like a J Brown. No other side is playing like us at the moment. Signs were there in the Geelong game when we had them pinned on the ropes especially in the second half. The offensive surge is relentless. The defence plays high risk high reward football because it can afford too.

Even though Carlton lost this weekend again we made them feel better.

This is not football. This is smashing guitars. What a beautiful noise.

I have to attend my mother in laws birthday gathering this afternoon....oh what fun! Can’t decide if this is a line in the sand, seizing the moment, stamping our authority or no turning back game. This is also the first of 3 payback games owing to atone for last seasons round 23 debacle.

Wallace Urges Adelaide to Target Lever
John Crow Batty replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Walllace knows his footy but is also the biggest hypocrite. Sues an opponent for being whacked by an opponent but when coaching has his hit squads doing the whacking.
