  1. I agree with most of what you say here RTG. However, I'm also in agreement with JVF. We can cover the loss of a defender far easier than the loss of a midfielder or forward. We have a number of guys who can play back with reasonable competence. Not so elswhere.
  2. Now don't get me wrong but we can cover this and , by my reading of the report, he's still a chance for round 1. There is far worse injury shite that could befall us. At this point we're going OK - let's just hold our breath.
  3. I would just like to set the record straight on my lunch with Biffen as mentioned on the training thread. We did not go to The Gat as Biffen insisted he knew a classy place. It was hidden away in a dark alleyway. The clientele were a combination of ne er- do- wells, streetwalkers taking a break, and meth heads. Biffen chose the wine which was poured from 2 litre plastic containers. He said the better wines only came in 2 litres while the lesser quality stuff was in drums. I became suspicious of the food when I noticed strange green spots on the dinner rolls. Biff assured me this was OK. I cannot remember what I ate. I suspect my memory has been suppressed as a sanity defence mechanism. I paid, and now both my credit card and Biffen are missing.
  4. Training report continued ... Bernie Vince looked good in everything he did. Watching him and Cross and Jones today made me think that at least we will no longer be embarrassed in the midfield. Tom McDonald was doing some kicking drills right in front of me. His build and body shape is impressive but I hope Frawley is available to pick up the monster forwards. Jake Spencer was doing a lot of contested marking drills with Greg Stafford. He was reasonably sure handed with the wet ball. Gawn and Jamar then competed in some similar drills. Gawn was too strong for Jamar and able to push him off. In fact Jamar looked a bit lighter to me. On my brief observations today I reckon he is third in the pecking order.
  5. Good Morning all. A late training report from yesterday. As I lunched with Biffen immediately after training, the rest of the day faded into a haze that did not allow for any intellectual stress. I went and watched Clarke, Hogan, Fitzy and Matt Jones train away from the group. They did a lot of twinkle toes type work to start. Short sharp paces and side steps using low obstacles. They all followed this with a series of 300 metre (I think) runs. They all looked quite free in their movements. I made that comment to Fitzy and he said everyone was going well but being careful. Dawes was in the main group at that time and I asked one of the trainers (not sure who) if he was doing full training. He said not full training but he was getting close. Some individual observations. Jack Viney looks really ripped but did not train. He left early and I'm guessing, headed for the gym. Nathan Jones looks superfit and every time time I looked at him was going flat out. Salem did not appear to be doing full training but is well built and interacted very confidently with all the players. Jack Watts does everything well but does not appear as intense as others. Maybe that is just his nature. Trengove ran well in the drills I saw. I am not convinced he is slow. Dawes seems a bit rusty with his shots on goal but moving freely and handling the wet ball well. He looks big and fit. Cross. I had read that he is a keen trainer and he certainly demonstrated that. He goes full tilt and was very sure in his ball skills. This was the first time I have seen him and he will be a real plus to our midfield. WILL POST MORE LATER THIS ARVO.
  6. Usually find your pics shite frog, but I never tire of seeing that photo. It gladdens the ageing heart to see a group of fresh faced and happy young people indulging in a bit of innocent joy. Especially since they are wearing Demon jumpers.
  7. Jazza is our resident expert on teats - I will accept his view as definitive. (But I dont think it's a jersey)
  8. Given your contacts DF, perhaps you could organise some sponsorship from Thetans inc.
  9. Excuse me for being a pedant H-, but don't you mean "I've seen those before"?
  10. No but I reckon I could write the transcript. Iwas also making a phone complaint the other day (and I know I'll sound an arse) but I can't remember to whom. However, I was speaking with a young lady in Melbourne who I could understand perfectly. She couldn't help me but she was so pleasant I didn't take the matter any further.
  11. I have to tell you blokes. I went to a fantastic performance of Midsummer Night's Dream at a local winery last Sat night. It was an outdoor performance and there was a comp for the best fairy. A few little girls with wings etc were sweet but the clear winner was a bald fat bloke of senior years who wore a vivid lime dress and cute little wings.
  12. You have no sense of fashion or class at all Moon.
  13. If I can win Stuie over, he'll bring at least er.... one vote with him.
  14. Thanks RL. I'm a starter. All you people who want meet me, look for the ruggedly handsome bloke with an athletic build, steely grey hair and piercing blue eyes. Probably surrounded by women. You can buy me a drink.
  15. Shane McSpeerin??? I must have been [censored] the game he played. I have not got a clue. Please Enlighten me.
  16. A pvr? A pvr? Where do you think Romsey is ? When do you think Romsey is? Just let me test you DC - please explain what a pvr is in order that I can be sure of your credibility. Understand. I have had similar issues with telstra. The problem is usually made worse because you are speaking to someone a zillion k's away who does not give a flyer.
  17. I've always wanted to go and the date suits me this year OD. However, an important question, is there a sociable ale available?
  18. Potential! Potential! Mate I admire your positivity but we have been hanging on potential for years. I greedily scan those adds on this site that have a remarkable number of ,apparently, loose women living four miles from me. All potential roots but have i've had none of it. Potential? Let's sees a bloody first round win!!!
  19. It was a serious question. I don't have Foxtel IQ - I simply pay a monthly fee for a plan that gives access to certain stations. In my world a harddrive is part of my computer and Foxtel is pay tv - The twains don't meet.
  20. I don't know whether he was dignified or not bluey but the effer could not coach. So eff him!! Typo
