  1. Just listened to Robbo's blurb. How can paying out cash be "fun and exciting"?
  2. Spencer for me but, I have to say that kid King seems impressive. Long way to go though.
  3. Fair points Master but I didn't envisage them all on at once. Also Fitzy has a mobility upside in that I reckon he could go back or play like a "wing" or receiving mid. Anyway it's February after all and anything is possible.
  4. BTW. Forgot to mention in my training report. Met one of our ( new?) board members today - Jeremy Nicholls. Helluva nice fellow. We had a bit of a general chat and what impressed was how he emphasised the cohesive nature of the club. Everyone knows their role and are working hard at it. I know that's the party line in any organisation but this bloke was enthusiastic and keen to talk. Liked him.
  5. I was impressed with our big blokes today. How about this scenario if Clark is not fit. Gawn plays mostly as a forward. Dawes plays CHF because he is prepared to run. Spencer does most of the ruck. Hogan plays forward up to the wing. Fitzy similar. One always off the ground.
  6. Training/intra club - some observations No doubt many will comment on this but the crowd was very large. Certainly the biggest Ive seen at the odd training sessions Ive attended over the last few years. Notably, the mood and conversations, that I could hear, were very upbeat and positive. Strong and gusty winds. It was apparent that both teams were instructed to hold possession. Dawes. In both the pre training and the game he did a lot of running , turning and reversing. He looked the goods fitness wise but I was told later he had suffered an injury I did not see this. I hope its minor. He showed his strength in one on ones with T Mac. However T Mac surprised me with his strength in that competition. Dawes took a couple of strong grabs. Spencer. Spent a lot of time on the field and competed for the most part against young King. Spencer also took a couple of strong clean marks. There was no sign of Jamar (dont know why) but today strongly suggests that Spencer is one in the rucking order. Gawn did some ruck work but also hovered close to his teams goal. He also marked cleanly. I just wonder what the plan for Gawn is. He could be very dangerous around goal if Clark is not available. Just to round off the big man discussion, Fitzy also impressed at times. I was able to see him up close and he surprised me with his ability to compete with the taller Gawn. It was also interesting to watch Greg Stafford demonstrating techniques and actively coaching both Spencer and Gawn during breaks. He appears a very passionate coach. Trengove. Carried on from Friday night. Skill fitness, hard at it and looking far more mature. Dont want to moze him but he is starting to look the player we expected. Must mention Jack Watts. He looked very classy. I did not see him waste a possession. He was cool and had plenty of time to choose his option. Anyway must head home, the lads are still disturbed by that violent cat video that DC posted.
  7. Well polish off another with No 2 wife and then polish off No 2 wife. I'll try and catch up if I get there - will you be using a walking frame OD?
  8. I will but two provisos. 1. I don't get too pizzed tonight. 2. It's not pizzing down rain - it knocks my make up around
  9. Fair point mjt, Moonshadow is a skunk who is reading this thread. However I'm not sure if Trengove would be overly concerned about a "fraction notice". Or are you refering to his game time?
  10. Are you on drugs mjt? Of course good demon supporters must hate Essendrug (and all others IMO). What is wrong with you? Eff them!!
  11. Love your passion grand but i hope you're not aiming to make money out of that stuff inside 200 years.
  12. Yes and we deify people simply because they have a talent to throw, catch, kick etc. Having a brain or compassion for humanity always comes second.
  13. Appreciate your compassion RL but disagree with your contention. We are not into character assination but a discussion of the club and its performance in various situations. We all have sympathy for Dean and his family but we cannot expunge his time at the club from our history nor its (possible) impact on our current state.
  14. Correct. I just figured you needed a boost OD. Just the sort of bloke I am.
  15. He wasn't perfect that's for sure OD. However, we had some memorable and inspiring wins under Bailey that will stick in my memory forever. Bailey was not divisive in the same way as Neeld.
  16. If you're still with us around 1-2 am you'll be right for another day.
  17. Hope he plays [censored].
  18. Agree OD. Love him running out of defence. Hope he can play a full season though - he's had some shitfull injury probs.
  19. That is a really interesting comment Steam but I think it's a bit harsh to put Bailey in the same basket as Neeld.
  20. Hope you make it through the night OD!
  21. In your case, I can understand that Moon.
  22. Beware of absolutes. It would be possible to have one without the other. The perfect game of golf would be to score 18. Unlikely I'll admit. The perfect game of football would be to take the ball at the initial centre bounce and not give it up for the quarter. More likely than the golf scenario but still unlikely.
