I get the feeling Brayshaw may get a rest and Tomlinson come in on a wing.

INSIDE DEES’ REVIEW WITH ‘P****D OFF’ GOODWIN

Goodwin needs a 50+ points win tomorrow against the Crows and must have a big win against North the following week in order to just start building some sort of credibility. If the team can manage that, then they might just build enough momentum to get them across the line against the Pies; and if that happens, then he may have saved his skin for the time being. -

The 5th, hopefully.

As much as I am really liking what he is showing, I can see Jackson being rested this week against Port and the more experienced TMac coming in as his replacement. I think Jetta will be rested as well considering he suffered two knocks to his head, so in come Rivers, and I can see Tomlinson coming in and Brayshaw being given a week off.
-
That plus the fact it was more of a shoulder charge and Pickett's arms remain down (he doesn't hold the opponent at all), I cannot see how that could be interpreted as a dangerous tackle in any footballing universe.
-
Pickett was pinged on two occasions for dangerous tackles... the first one on the centre half forward area (if memory serves) for a front on bump (ridiculous decision) and the second on the boundary, for what was a pretty standard vigorous tackle.
-
Tasmania have closed off their borders to most states (including Qld), and so North's two Tassie games have had to be shifted to QLD.
-
Firstly, Jackson was NOT recruited purely as a ruckman and secondly, Gawn WILL need a second ruck... unless of course you would like to see him completely burned out by the end of this intense period of football (you do realise that we have just a 4 day break until our next game on Thursday?). And as far as form is concerned, TMac's current form has been pretty much abysmal, whereas Jackson last week was starting to show something and will only get better the more games he plays. I think I said it in another topic, but I can see Jackson being rested next week and TMac coming in, as Port are probably considered a bigger threat than the Lions.

I'm getting really really really REALLY tired of the commentators fawning over Rankine!! Even when he kicked behinds in the last, they were making it seem like it was part of a cunning plan! (did love his mark though)
-
I would have thought that Brisbane would be seen as less of a threat than Port, so I would think Jackson stays in this week and TMac comes in next week against Port... by then, Jackson will probably need a rest rather than play three games with not much break between the 2nd and 3rd.
-
But isn't it from round 9 that there are going to be matches every day of the week over a 3 (or was it 4?) week period? If so, then surely they would have to be announcing all fixtures over that particular period.
-
I understand that, I just prefer it’s not used in that way... just call him a dumb f*%#er, which is probably more appropriate anyway ?
-
I’d be happy if you’d edit that Biffen. I really do not like that used as an insult, being someone with a brother who is intellectually disabled. Thanks.

Nah! ?
-
They had 4 a piece in the first quarter and were actually playing fast attacking football.
-
Finally a watchable game... Carlton v Port thus far is a goal fest.
-
He’s a great prospect, but all of this fawning over Rankine by the commentators is getting tiresome! Derm was just creaming himself over the fact that he was running alongside the ball carrier heading towards goal!
-
Groin injury and listed as "indefinite".

Did he? Or was he just invited to train with them as a junior? As I recall, it was the latter (I'm not sure he even took up the offer). EDIT: it appears he went to Old Trafford, but nothing came of it; from WIKI: "After spending a month at Old Trafford, the 15-year-old Green trained with Walsall, a lower division English club, and was offered a contract but turned it down, choosing to finish his schooling in Tasmania."

My parents weren't into footy in a big way back when we were winning premierships in the early 60's, so I could only listen on the radio (no live TV coverage). I'm yet to SEE us win a GF.

I watched the Lions game... they look good.

The Freo v Crows game is like watching a demonstration of how not to play footy. Two totally inept teams that make us look like world beaters. The fact that Freo are leading 4 goals to the Crow’s 4 behinds, is nothing short of a miracle.
