  1. Yep, pick 26 - great news!
  2. Makes me wonder if you are a member now - far too fickle. Pick 13/14 for Dawes is not a bad investment, particularly if Viney isn't nominated and we can take him in the 2nd round. There's no reason we couldn't take Pederson as well if, as you seem to think, he would only cost pick 40...and Dawes brings far more experience than your pin-up boy (particularly finals experience).
  3. Makes their performance this year all the more remarkable.
  4. Isn't Scully also known as Riddle?
  5. Well, I suppose it depends on what the club is after. Midfielders that are ready to go seem to be one of our requirements, and you would have to think Viney fits the bill... so yes, for us, he may well be the 3rd best player in the draft. We've gone for what were widely considered 1st (and 2nd) best a couple of times in recent drafts... care to reflect on how that has gone for us?
  6. I think the meds are wearing off... of course it was Doggies to Saints (don't know what I was thinking). You don't see the resemblance to Christian Slater (that was the one thing that stood out about him for me)?
  7. I remember saying we should take FR when he was up for trade and the Doggies took him... I would be happy to see him in the red and blue... besides, every team needs a Christian Slater look alike to satisfy the true romantic in us all.
  8. Yes, I actually did know that...it was a rhetorical question ;-) But thanks anyway.
  9. It was tweeted that "Byrnes is off to do Kokoda in his off season in preparation for the season ahead".. hope he brings the same sort of driven attitude to the field.
  10. Here's the URL, go and take a look... http://www.youtube.com
  11. I think you might find that Geelong's main list is just a tad stronger than ours and therefore possibly a little harder to break into... and correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't their magoos do reasonably well? We need experience, skill and pace and they are three things he does bring with him as well as a desire to play for our club. Tell me who you would rather have that we could realistically convince to come to our club during this free agency period.
  12. If you like a good yodel, try this Australian effort from 1994 on for size: [media=]
  13. "MELBOURNE has confirmed its interest in Collingwood key forward Chris Dawes." "Demons look to Dawes" (http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/149034/default.aspx)
  14. I didn't actually see anything in that article quoting Wellingham; I only saw a few words from his manager. I doubt Wellingham has made any specific comments regarding the Dees, but imagine that perhaps he told his manager that the only move he is prepared to make is to the west, otherwise he would prefer to stay put at the Pies.
  15. In a strange kind of a way, maybe he is doing something positive for the club. By publicly kicking the club he is hopefully triggering a best kind response from the club; that is, they will let their game in order to rub his nose in it. As far as I can see, as a supporter he is venting in much the same way as many on here do... the only difference is that his words will be heard by all and sundry and will have the same effect that those "many" on here, wish that they could have.
  16. Thanks for the reminder that I'm still on the same Demonland I've grown to love over the past few years.
  17. You might be surprised just how many people here are interested in Lynch... now that he is no longer available ;-)
  18. So why the song and dance? ;-)
  19. Perhaps they mean "no stone will be left unturned" in their pursuit of players that have experience and meet both the attitude and economic requirements... bypassing the likes of Cloke, Goddard and Tippet doesn't necessarily mean they are reneging on that statement.
  20. Possibly because we did so many things wrong?
  21. Replied.
  22. I'm in Shenzhen, China listening through the AFL app on my iPad (it's the SEN coverage I believe).
  23. Docklands is as much a part of Melbourne (the place) as is the MCG. Can't really see the issue with regards to identity and demographics, and cannot see any issues regarding accessibility. Storm in a teacup territory.
  24. The only demons my 13 year old is interested appear in the online games he plays with his mates on Steam! My 10 year old is a Dees supporter (and member), but it's been difficult for him having gone to see the Swans game as his first experience and having seen two of his favourites in Jurrah and Green depart the club. The win over GWS in Canberra helped keep him interested, so he remains a Dees fan so far. I am not in the least bit surprised when kids start following teams like Geelong and Hawthorn, as its natural to follow a winning team...that's what initially drew me to the Dees in the 50's.
  25. Thanks for clarifying.
