  1. I remember him getting knocked out cold very early on in a final (or were we playing for a place in the 4?) against the Pies (I think it was)... we ended up losing.
  2. I'm happy to see them throwing money our way... I won't whinge about our players, but when we get a sponsor like CS, I'm more than happy to express my thoughts (they are to me what 186 is to WYL ).
  3. The loneiness of the long distance runner... ro, for a little comic relief (god knows we need it), the loneliness of the long range golfer...
  4. You got the polar opposite treatment to what my young son and I received... they literally ran off so that they wouldn't have to deal with passenger queries. We wandered the GZ airport until we could find someone to help us with temp visas and accommodation... we had arrived at GZ around 6pm and finally were placed in a hotel at 2am... then woken at 5am with a false alarm and again at 6am to be taken to the airport. My previous experiences with them had been good, but that one left a very bad taste. Delays aren't such a big problem, but the treatment we received was unacceptable... if they wish to be a successful international airline, they need to learn a lot more about service.
  5. Or perhaps (from my thoughts regarding them), 中国南方航空公司,吸我的咸球
  6. China Southern Airlines official website, China China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd. Companies referred to China Southern Airlines, SkyTeam members. China Southern Airlines is the maximum transport aircraft, the densest route network, the largest airline in passenger traffic, was awarded China ...
  7. Yes, but at least it gives me something to do while waiting for that flag lol.
  8. Understand OD... but that doesn't stop me from hounding them :-D
  9. Yes, I understand that OD, although Guangzhou in the south is less prone to such poor visibility... as I mention above, the delay is one thing, but literally running away and leaving your customers to arrange accommodation for the night/ temporary visas etc, is unforgiveable.
  10. I was all for them being a sponsor back then, but that was before my last trip with them in 2012. I can understand an airline having delays, but when they refuse to take any responsibility and leave the passengers in a lurch, they lose me completely.
  11. I would not be surprised to see Kirk head our way at some point, if he proves himself at Freo.
  12. No, screw 'em... I will ask the MFC to have a word with them about some form of compensation ;-)
  13. Yes, the two passengers flying on stolen passports purchased their tickets through the partner China Southern somewhere in Thailand (Phuket?). The airline failed to run a check against the international database that contains records of all passports reported stolen (aparently this is a very common oversight by many airlines/countries).
  14. One thing is for certain... regardless of them being our new sponsor, there is absolutely no way known that I will ever fly with those a-holes ever again after my experience with them when I took my son to the US... three of four flights were delayed, with the only on-time leg being the return from Guangzhou to Sydney. On teh way, the flight left Sydney 2 hours late, the leg from Guangzhou to L.A was cancelled and the counter staff literally ran off leaving us to fend for ourselves and the leg from L.A back to Guangzhou was roughly 4 hours late. After repeated contact with the airline, they refused to take any responsibility or accountability. They are the absolute pits!
  15. Will do... expecting to have the clip completed some time in April, but only if the guitarist can get time away from his day job (he makes long bows and trains actors to look convincing in their use - working on shows like Game of Thrones, Eragon, Braveheart, Robin Hood etc).
  16. Sometimes I think this site should be re-named "Pavlov's Kennel"
  17. I liked early Yes, but they eventually seemed to run out of ideas and I'm afraid Jon Anderson's voice, as good as it was, started to grate a little. Steve Howe was a hell of a guitarist though. I was always more of a King Crimson/Robert Fripp fan myself when it came to that era.
  18. I would be happy if he re-signed. Semantics, you just gotta love 'em!
  19. To be honest, that heavy/death metal isn't my cup of tea (Ministry is about as close as I get), but you guys really do a great job of it. Can't fault it! I finished recording a single in January with an old guitarist (we were in a band together in 1979) who lives in Norwich in the UK... he recorded the music with his 24y.o son who played drums and did the recording engineering... they sent me a guide track and I made a vocal track in Garageband on my MacBook, sent it back and they completed the mix. Just waiting for the guitarist to complete a clip to throw up on YouTube and then it will be ready to share (clip is being made the same way with me sending my vids via DropBox and he mixing it all together with his vids). We also plan to put the song up on iTunes.
  20. It had the same affect on me too OD... that story had a happy ending, but sadly for every one of those there are probably dozens that don't end well.
