  1. No... it just happened that you were being discussed by Lordweaver when I jumped into the conversation. Mine was a general comment not directed at any one person in particular, but probably prompted by my memory of mjt's rantings.
  2. Did I mention you BD? I was responding to Lordweaver's seeming justification for the comments flying around. I cannot even recall what you said and don't feel like going searching through this thread at the moment.
  3. I'm saying no such thing, but whether he reads them or not, they are unwarranted. I do however believe, and have said a couple of times already, that the kinds of thoughts expressed by a few on here probably do find their way to him via social media, his own website and possibly even in public and that is not good if he is in a fragile state of mind.
  4. It's not just about what might offend us... I have found some of the comments to be utterly disrespectful of Mitch Clark and more often than not, based entirely on conjecture with not an ounce of fact involved.
  5. I think more often than not you will find it is not necessarily the difference of opinion, but the way that opinion is expressed.
  6. That was just a pretty brief radio sound bite... he was just expressing his disappointment over the fact they couldn't get their season off to a good start.
  7. It was Luke Hodge so I switched off... maybe dementia is setting in, but I'm positive they were advertising Jones as being on over the past few days.
  8. The info for OTC on Foxtel says the guest is Luke Hodge, but I'm sure I have seen a number of ads over the last couple of days saying that Nathan Jones will be on. So, it might be worth tuning in (if you have Foxtel) just in case.
  9. What about if you were in a job that meant you were in a position where you were exposed to the public and that some of the public you had to deal with on a daily basis became abusive towards you because of something your employer had done over which you had no control? What if that abuse started to affect your mental health? Would your employer leave you high and dry or would you be granted paid leave? I'm not saying that the MFC is directly responsible for Mitch's predicament, but I am saying that he has no control over the injuries and how long he will be off the field (such things ARE decided by the club), yet there are probably many "supporters" who feel he is personally responsible for his situation and they are quite possibly letting him know either via social media, his personal website or even in the street.
  10. Actually, if you are diagnosed as having mental stress that could be a result of your employment, you can be given paid leave... and I imagine in Clark's case, the fact that his injuries keep recurring as he attempts to get fit enough to return to the field, mean he is being placed under a lot of stress. And as I said in another post, I also imagine he is having to cope with a hell of a lot of abuse from people who believe he is being paid too much to just sit around, which would also be a major contributing factor.
  11. Yeah, and Bennell has been having a reasonable game which I'm happy to see... always liked Jamie, even if he never did cut it in the games he played with us.
  12. Those are your idea of a cheapshot?? Ding, you need to grow a much thicker skin... what I do find funny though is the fact that you accuse me of cheapshots, yet in the 6 years you have been on D'land, you have a relative handful of posts, and if the last few posts are anything to go by, you only come on to here to take potshots because you are upset over a result. Again, quite ironic is it not?
  13. Perhaps you would like to cite some of the footy related posts where I have taken cheap snipes? Ding, anger management is something that you should seriously look into (and no, that is not a snipe... it's a serious suggestion). Politics however is open slather and anything goes... I think you will find most rational footy posters go off the rails there.
  14. Well, you'd be very wrong there... but you could certainly do with a visit to the room of mirrors for a bit of self-reflection and anger management. Carry on.
  15. And you had ME pegged as someone who only cares about themselves? Oh the irony.
  16. There's a good chance a similar thread would have been started here if the shoe had been on the other foot.
  17. Perhaps what is going on in his personal life is directly affecting his ability to play? And perhaps, just perhaps, it has been his seeming inability to recover completely from his injuries that has put his personal life in a tailspin... in which case it is the club's concern and the club's business to deal with. It leaves me gobsmacked that there are some who just don't get that.
  18. Well, you would certainly know all about posting rubbish ding. If you accept the fact that people are prepared to withdraw membership after one loss with a new set-up at the club, then that's your prerogative... I however will express my opinion regardless of what you think. Maybe this loss did cost us potential memberships... but unlike some, I am happy to be a member when we are going poorly or when we are going well. Without members, the club dies... I'm guessing you will be one of the first to call for the sacking of the board and a new coach.
  19. And pray tell, how does withdrawing your membership help? You give the new administration and coaching group one game and that's it? Particularly when we still have a few of our major players to come back in. To use your own word "pathetic".
  20. Well, we certainly don't need fairweather supporters... so feel free to follow another club.
  21. wattsup just seems to be another "heartless" supporter.
  22. Think it was called a shire back then...lots of dirt roads yes, and milk and bread were delivered by horse drawn carts, but Dorset Rd was sealed.
  23. I remember the old ice works in Coolstore Road.
