  1. Pub-talking bulldust I can cope with... his problem is that it's more your 'after-pub-talking bulldust', complete with slur.
  2. I'm not entirely doubting what you say may be true, but in what capacity would you be getting information from "legal sources and federal bureaucracy"?
  3. Agreed, but maybe I'm still shell-shocked from preceding seasons, when we beat Collingwood (2012) and Port (2013), only to be absolutely hammered by them in the season proper... the Port loss stung most as the two games were played just weeks apart. Yes, we're a very different side this year, but I still believe that confidence plays a big part in this game and I am a little concerned over how our season might start if we suffer at the hands of Hawthorn this week... having said that, I do however think that this is the MFCSS genome driving these thoughts, as at the same time I believe a bad loss will leave us floundering, I believe that St Kilda have a chance owing to the fact they were thumped by GWS.
  4. I won't be surprised if we still get a lot of references to Sydney from him as they seemed to be Roos benchmark. I have no problem with that at all as I have always admired what he achieved with the Swans.
  5. What, disappointing to have anything less than a 20% increase on last year when just coming off a 2 win season? Paul Roos may be a miracle worker, and while it would be nice to exceed 40k members, let's not get our expectations too high.
  6. I've just put in a pre-order at Amazon UK for the Werner Herzog collection on Blu Ray... it comprises 7 discs with all of his films remastered: The Unprecedented Defence of the Fortress Deutschkreuz (1967) Last Words (1968) Precautions Against Fanatics (1969) Handicapped Future (1970) Fata Morgana (1971) Land Of Silence and Darkness (1971) Aguirre, Wrath of God (1972) The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser (1974) The Great Ecstasy of Woodcarver Steiner (1975) Heart of Glass (1976) How Much Wood Would a Woodchuck Chuck (1976) Stroszek (1977) Nosferatu, the Vampyre (1979) Woyzeck (1979) Huie's Sermon (1980) God's Angry Man (1980) Fitzcarraldo (1982) Cobre Verde (1987) And it costs approx 44 quid (British pounds) shipped (releases on July 21st)... can't wait!
  7. Haven't seen it, but re the subtitles, you may be able to find an English language subtitle online... just google the video's file name along with the word subtitles. There are plenty of sites that make subs available for download at no charge.
  8. Perhaps monsieur would like a wafer?
  9. Robbo's on the turps early
  10. Live streaming here at 10am: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-03-03/demetriou It mentions that "AFL chairman Mike Fitzpatrick and Demetriou will appear at the media conference to provide a briefing on developments in the ASADA investigation into Essendon's supplements program in 2012." but does go on to say that the speculation is that AD will announce his resignation.
  11. I suppose AD's resignation is the most obvious likelihood, but is there the possibility it could be something breaking in the Essendon affair?
  12. The reason for the second bit was that religion (in my opinion or course... and no doubt many others') sprung from the desire for control... and what better way to control people than to offer them something beyond death? If you look at the earliest "developed" societies, they were governed by religious leaders (Egypt, Rome, even the Incas and Aztecs)... over time they separated, yes, but I would argue that politics was born out of religion.
  13. Ahh, politics and religion. To me they are inextricably linked as essentially, politics was a product of religion.
  14. Unlike you, I feel no need to provide constantly post anti <left/right figure> information... it's out there if you want it. I have understood for a long time that you agree with his "perspective" (funniest thing I've heard for a while), but in my case, the "pathological" reference was in regard to your unrelenting desire to share it with us.
  15. I simply posted to give a contrasting view of Bolt...if my interest was in looking for evidence against Bolts commentary, then a basic Google search uncovers references aplenty...but it's not.But at least you and the poster do have common ground in that you both have a pathological interest in Bolt.
  16. Was never a big Steely Dan fan, but did love Was (not Was) who I believe had some 6 degrees of separation thing going there:
  17. http://indifferencegivesyouafright.wordpress.com/2011/10/02/understanding-andrew-bolt/
  18. If today's game keeps going the way it is, the saints will be so low on confidence that we could be looking at a top 4 start to the season.
  19. Yes, I see no reason to believe otherwise... he finally has a quality coach (for the first time) and like Jones, he may well realise his potential if not this year, then next with constant improvement.
  20. And to put it in perspective, the rest of the quote you failed to include: DemonAndrew, on 28 Feb 2014 - 10:10 PM, said:
  21. So what? Jones took as long and had the same lame calls for his delisting, trading etc that we constantly see directed at Watts. Can you honestly say that 5 years in the system with the standard of coaching we have had is a fail for Watts?
  22. Why would I be embarrassed?... I'm not the one with my head firmly up Bolt's arse.
