I could have done a lot worse than to have barracked for Melbourne all my life. Like most of you I think " When are we ever going to win another premiership?" Then, to cheer myself up, I have listed premierships won in MY LIFETIME and the Dees haven't done too badly. Here they are: CARLTON 11, ESSENDON 10, MELBOURNE 10, HAWTHORN 9, RICHMOND 6, GEELONG 4, NORTH MELB. 4, COLLINGWOOD 3, WEST COAST 3, BRISBANE(FITZROY) 3, ADELAIDE 2, PORT ADELAIDE 1, WESTERN BULLDOGS 1, ST KILDA 1,SOUTH MELBOURNE (SYDNEY) 1, FREMANTLE 0. As you can see only Carlton have done better than the mighty demons. Doesn't it do your heart good too to see Collingwood featuring so low on the list. I made the right choice don't you reckon?

Let's go back to 2000. In round 13 Carlton flogged us by 98 points. The following week we bounced back to thrash Collingwood by 65 points. We went on to even beat the Eagles by 70 points at SUBIACO in the last round of the season. In our finals encounter with Carlton we got up to win by 9 points. Not a bad turnaround. (About 118 points). Footy has always been a week to week prospect. Let's not get too bogged down in our gloom.

Spot on '849dennisj'! I have watched the video many times and the umpires not only missed hearing the siren once but failed to hear it the second time. It was loud enough! There should never have been the situation where a 15 metre penalty was on. The ball was dead with a shot for goal the only option.

Sheahan includes oldies like the Coventrys, Haydn Bunton, Jack Mueller, Jack Dyer and others. Surely he could have judged them only on hearsay as he would not have seen them play. He should have only named the players HE has seen in action. The list could then be called The Top 50 players of MY TIME. Barassi is far far too low on his list. He should have been up there with Whitten 3 or 4. John Coleman too is far too low on the list.

I reckon with a decent run without too many injuries we can be VERY competitive this year. Here are my thoughts. Geelong, West Coast, Adelaide, St Kilda, Port, Hawthorn, Sydney, Freo, Melbourne, Brisbane, Collingwood, Essendon, Bulldogs, North, Carlton and Richmond.
