Allen Jakovich left out of our Greatest 150?
Bobby McKenzie replied to Yze_Magic's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sorry to have to tell you YM, but Bruce WILL be in the top 150 and deservedly so. Incidently, does anyone on this forum happen to know who the selectors are for our top 150? -
Ben is out of the team because of his shoulder injury. He wasn't dropped.

Do you watch the show for footy or comedy? The footy content is almost outweighed by the ATTEMPTED comedy routines. You tell me I can go and watch all the other AFL footy shows so I can tell you to go and watch all those American comedies with their canned laughter. You seem to enjoy the funnies so much. Give me a footy show which concentrates FULLY on the game. Not padded with childish antics.

It's round 9 but forget Naitanui,Rich...
Bobby McKenzie replied to Jack7's topic in Melbourne Demons
Completely agree. To have any chance of avoiding the spoon we must play with the same passion we showed last Sunday for the rest of our games. Unfortunately, we don't seem to be able to do this. With a top draft pick we can go places next year. -
I might just start watching the footy show again with the pathetic Sam Newman absent. He is an absolute idiot with all his attention seeking behaviour. I am very broadminded but he is the pits.

Thanks 'MFC4Life' for sharing that great interview with the mighty Laurie Mithen. I bet 'Maurie Lithen' will find it very interesting. Mithen was tough, uncompromising and highly skilled. And how about this? Lou Richards,in his book, described Laurie as the BEST centreman he had ever seen. High praise indeed from a Collingwood man. I was very lucky to see him in action for all of his career.

Well done Mods for deleting a certain post that was unworthy of this forum. May the mods continue to remove unfair, unwarranted bashing of our players.

I was invited by a Weagles barracker to watch the match at Subi today. How inept were the Crows? I sat there in disbelief that this was the same team that walloped us the week before. They were shocking and it was chilling to think that they could have beaten us by such a big margin. The Eagles by the way, were not very impressive but at least they looked interested. To make matters worse, the stupid scoreboard kept showing progress scores of the Richmond / Essendon game naming Melbourne instead of Essendon. One score read MELBOURNE 3.7.25, Richmond 10.11.71. I heard a guy behind me say, "Melbourne are getting flogged yet again!" I resisted the temptation to correct him. Fortunately, they eventually replaced Melbourne with Essendon. Its bad enough to have one loss at the weekend but not two. Hey, what am I saying? We haven't lost to the Tasmanian Hawks yet have we? Go Demons and stick it right up Jeff's rectum.

Our own big Bob Johnson was the greatest actor of them all. He got his 'frees' in the forward pocket and he was such an ACCURATE kick for goal. You younger posters would have loved it, particularly against C'wood!

Cam DID pinch your girlfriend and you can't forgive him! You really are a raver of the highest order.

Well said Surfa. It's wonderful to see all these EXPERTS criticising Bruce's kicking. They no doubt all have simply flawless kicking styles. Bruce, by his standards, had a quiet day but still managed 19 possessions at 79% efficiency. AT LEAST HE CAN GET THE BALL. Brian Dixon, was a champion Melbourne wingman and he was a shocking kick. Give credit you guys for Cam being able to win the ball. Bruce works his guts out on the opponent's star players week in and week out and does a bloody good job on them.

Jack Grimes.

Archer didn't play this weekend. Don't know if he attended school at Caulfield Grammar.

A lot of posters are getting very excited about the prospects of gaining either Naitanui or Rich. I decided to have a look at their respective stats after 7 rounds of WAFL games. BOTH are playing for STRONG clubs, Rich with the undefeated Subiaco team and Naitanui with Swan Districts (2nd). This is an important factor as their opportunity to do well is increased when playing in a strong, WINNING team. I have not seen either play but here are their stats so far this season. NAINTANUI RD.1 6 kicks,5 h/b, 4 mks, 18 h/o (total 11 poss.) RD.2 BYE RD.3 2 kicks, 12 h/b, 2 mks, 26 h/o (14 poss.) RD.4 6 kicks,10 h/b, 4 mks, 14 h/o (16 poss.) RD.5 2 kicks, 8 h/b, 2 mks, 27 h/o ( 10 poss.) RD.6 5 kicks, 6 h/b, 1mk, 24 h/o ( 11 poss.) RD.7 3 kicks, 6 h/b, 4 mks, 18 h/o (9 poss.) RICH RD.1 10 kicks, 3 h/b, 3 mks, ( 13 poss.) RD.2 10 kicks, 5 h/b, 2 mks ( 15 poss) RD.3 5 kicks, 3 h/b, 1 mk. ( 8 poss.) RD.4 10 kicks, 8 h/b, 4 mks. ( 18 poss.) RD.5 11 kicks, 8 h/b, 3 mks. (19 poss.) RD.6 7 kicks, 4 h/b, 4 mks. ( 11 poss.) RD.7 12 kicks, 4 h/b, 4 mks. (16 poss.) I know they are only kids but overall, their stats are not outstanding. Nick's hit out tally is excellent but we don't know where they all went. Did most go to a teammate? They don't tell us. But at least he can get his fist to the ball. For a guy with a big leap I guess Nick's tally of just 17 marks from 7 games is very low. Daniel, going by stats alone, looks like being a potential ball magnet. Who knows? Maybe there are others worthy of consideration when draft time comes. Some good old VICTORIAN kids! By the way, I noticed Phil Read picking up plenty of possessions for Subiaco. NO I AM NOT SUGGESTING WE DRAFT HIM!

No way. What about Paul Chapman though? Give our forward line a bit of real bite.

Guess what? I AGREE fully on this one YM!

Demonland Player of the year votes - vs Freo
Bobby McKenzie replied to Yze_Magic's topic in Melbourne Demons
Nothing against him 'kramer'. He played very well. I was impressed. -
I'm going to be very lazy and simply say that I AGREE with all of your thoughts. Cannot agree with those who question White's courage. He had his face rearranged didn't he? He battles so hard in the ruck week in and week out.

They showed the boys singing the song on CH 7 Perth. They had Austin and Cale Morton getting doused with drinks. ( To celebrate their first ever win with the MFC).

My 3 word player analysis V The Fockers

Well done Nicho. At least you give credit wher it's due. Not like another well known poster on this forum. -
My 3 word player analysis V The Fockers

Deanox, I must say that dees rule 4eva has answered your question about Bruce's kicking. As he said, his shot at goal was poor but I thought he found his target with the great majority of his kicks. Basically, I too took special note of his much criticized disposals and I fully concur with demons rule 4eva. Maybe the skills coach is doing the job on Cam. -
constant baggers need to eat humble pie
Bobby McKenzie replied to stueyspencer no12's topic in Melbourne Demons
Beautifully put Stuey! I wonder if YM would write an apology to Bruce? Not bloody likely! I still loved your long, raking DROPKICKS! -
My 3 word player analysis V The Fockers
Bobby McKenzie replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have watched the replay, and apart from two loose handballs early in the game his disposal was as good as any other player. He put himself in and under and dealt out many slick EFFICIENT handballs particularly when the game was up for grabs. Only Brock McLean laid more tackles (7) than Bruce(6). By failing to acknowledge these facts you are being DISHONEST or plain PIG HEADED. I really hope it is the latter. -

No, a real KNOCKER! Go and barrack for the AFL team you allegedly played for.
