  1. Thanks Jarka. My apologies, Wally was in the team. I thought I had the team memorised. The old failing memory again! Cheers.
  2. Jarka, I remember Wally Lock very well. He was a very good footballer, but I don't think he made Melbourne's team of the century. I'll be happy to be corrected here.
  3. I hear from reliable sources that Byron has lost a lot of weight and is coming along nicely for a comeback very soon.
  4. I agree, plus the form of McLean,Jones, Robbo and the fact that we were the first team this season to outscore Collingwood in the last quarter. Also we kept on playing attacking football in the last few minutes, none of this keepings off nonsense. We are a great team when we go on the ATTACK! GO DEMONS!
  5. For once I had the good feeling that we weren't going to muck up our kick ins on Monday. Normally, my heart is in my mouth but with the boys breaking from the pack and leading well and with Wheatley's beautiful, accurate kicking finding their mark, I was very relaxed. I hope they let Wheatley do all the kick ins in the future. What do others think?
  6. I just hope like hell we can keep on winning and don't focus on early draft picks. When we have our best team on the park we are a mighty side. Today, it was not quite our best 22 but it proved to us that given a decent run with injuries next season we will take some stopping! What I am saying is simply that we ALREADY have the cattle to win a flag. eg. Apart from our super stars like Mclean, Bruce, Robbo, Davey and co. we have BATE, JONES, PETHICK, P JOHNSON,BELL, DUNN ETC,ETC, ETC. Roll on season 2008.
  7. And what about Wardy's brilliant spoil and fierce tackle in that vital 3rd quarter? Get off his back guys!
  8. Some reliable inside information I have received is that Davey's knee injury has improved dramatically and he is expected to be playing against the Magpies next Monday. This is good news isn't it?
  9. ONE good game this season? Very funny! Have you been overseas? Bruce always plays well. Have a look at his stats for ALL games. He's a GREAT player whether you choose to admit it or not. You don't have to be a thug to be an elite footballer. You seem fixed on the idea that every player must be HARD at the ball. A good team has a combination of both inside and outside players.
  10. You have conveniently misconscrued my statement. I asked YM if he had any background in body mechanics and then added that I had. I never said that I was the oracle of sporting injuries. Just stating a fact that I have studied anatomy, sports injuries and the like. As you found my post 'laughable' I too found it amusing and smacking of a little ignorance that you could say, despite my PE background I would have no more knowledge of the human body than all the other posters. All my studies for nothing!
  11. I couldn't have worded it any better Rhino. Spot on.
  12. Why do you assume that? I was merely asking Yze magic to justify his claims. WHERE did I claim to know All ABOUT injuries? I am a physical education teacher which gives me some humble insight into this topic. Don't make rash assumptions!
  13. You are also not very modest and extremely STUBBORN! Have you a background in body mechanics to SUPPORT your claim to be 100% right on this topic? I have.
  14. You are not learning Yze Magic. You are hopelessly out numbered by other posters regarding your stupidity in placing the blame on one man,BB. Footy is a contact game of a fierce nature. That is why injuries occur. You can do stretching on hamstrings forever, but that doesn't mean they won't tear at some stage. Grow up!
  15. Well spoken deanox! Wise words indeed. Those who blame BB are just looking for scapegoats. No fitness man in ANY club can prevent soft tissue injuries.
  16. Good on you mate. We played alongside each other in the Dees glory years.
  17. Sounds like a job for the boys. Nothing to do with BB's work. He just wanted his mate to do the job.
  18. Maybe you are not a clown but to say Bruce is SOFT makes one think you could be TRYING to be a clown! ANYONE who is good enough for AFL is far from soft. I don't know your footy background, but go out there next week and win the ball 35 times and see how you like it when someone comes along and says you are soft! We have our tough players. You need a balance of skill and toughness. Robbie Flower wasn't a tough guy but he was a brilliant footballer. Cam Bruce is not as good as Flower, but he is our most prolific ball getter. He is our Robbie Flower of today.
  19. Absolute crap Yze Magic! The fittest person in the world can pull hamstrings. No amount of conditioning can stop this occurrence. Did you blame Melbourne's fitness man last year when we had our USUAL number of soft tissue injuries? When Judd pulled a hammy last season was it because he wasn't fit? Come on get real and stop looking for scapegoats. BB is a good guy who is working his butt off. Have a look at most of our last quarters. We are running games out well. That is the REAL sign of FITNESS.
  20. Is JONESY really BIG? He's tough, but he's only a little guy by league standards.
  21. Please don't blame Bohdan Babijczuk. He is a very succesful and conscientious physical fitness exponent who has been a physical education teacher for over 20 years. He has coached and trained some track and field stars and they have not pulled muscles on the track despite the serious competition they have encountered. Blame the pace of the game, the element of bad luck, the surface of Telstra and the deliberate or accidental physical contact that occurs. Just because bloke does a hammy does not in any way mean he is not fit. It even happened to Judd last year and I reckon no one said it was anyone's fault. When Davey did his last year did you immediately think it was the fault of our then fitness man?
  22. I see Ron Barassi has been named as coach of the Italian team of the century. Why on earth wouldn't he be nominated as a player and be captain/ coach? After all, his dad has been nominated as well as many other past players from a long time ago. Just curious. Does anyone know the answer to this one?
  23. Because Goodes pleaded guilty he is NOT eligible to win the Brownlow this year.He should have been suspended for at least one game though. The tribunal have gone soft UNTIL a Melbourne player faces them. Then they will get tough again! Wait and see.
