  1. No go Im afraid. Received some bar codes but left my run a bit too late. Thanks for your interest.
  2. As a long standing forum member and OLD( 84) Demon supporter since 1948, I was wondering if anyone would be willing to let me have their membership number so that my daughter could take me to the Grand final. As a Melbourne member I could get a ticket but need help to get there. A big ask I know.

  4. Thanks to chronic injuries. Come off it Joe, you knocked him even when he had good games.
  5. Yeah The 1928 finals draw was very exciting. I nearly fell off my penny farthing bike listening to it on my crystal set!
  6. Dom was a very talented hard working Demon. Very unfairly criticised by Joe boy constantly. His whipping boy. Good luck for your future Dom.
  7. Point of order here to the quiz master. Question: How many draws in Melbourne finals matches? The answer provided was ONE v Collingwood in 1928. This is true BUT the correct answer to the question is TWO. 1928 AND 1948 GF draw v Essendon. Sorry to the Quiz writer. Cheers.
  8. Not POSSIBLY most improved, has to be THE most improved. He is fast becoming a favourite of mine. A real demon goer thats for sure. Love his running, fitness, tackling and team man. I am sure he is highly rated by his peers. Well done Alex.
  9. So proud of this young team. Here we were, 5 goals up and 3 minutes to go still tackling so so strongly, crashing packs and giving Lions nothing. Not giving them a sniff. This is a team we should all be proud. Well done to a champion TEAM!
  10. I have seen the great Robbie flower at his best and I truly believe that Clarry is at least Robbie's equal. They were and are absolute footballing wizards. And then of course there was another bloke by the name of Ronald Dale Barassi. Legends all three.
  11. You just missed on having me as your teacher by 30 plus years. Great school Chelt.
  12. Even the great Ron Barassi had to have a few goes before he made the big time. And boy was it ever big time!
  13. I love this kid already. We have kept him nice and secret and fresh for the finals. What a brilliant player he is going to be for us over the next decade and a half. Well done Jake! I was coach of the1973 Cheltenham High(Jake's recent School) footy team. I also coached the late and great Trevor Barker at the same school. Looks like my coaching skills live on. Ha ha. But I really did coach Trev at Chelt High.Go Dees you CAN Do It!!!!
  14. Reading the early views of his initial listing to the club. "Too small" was the call from a few posters. No way, he is going to be great for us over many many seasons. What composure. I remember early comments about Clarry saying that he was a surprise selection and was a poor choice. How wrong were they? Clarry is an out and out champion. Cant believe the things he can do with that piece of leather. Would be a very worthy Brownlow Medallist.
  15. Very pleasing news. He is a good footballer and a dedicated Demon. Lucky for us young Petty has been a good replacement.
  16. He is most definitely ahead of Chandler who has done nothing in his limited games.Much more valuable. Young Chandler has a lot of developing to do.
  17. Yes, a poor game from Ben should not make him an inclusion next week. Reward best performers in twos.
  18. Would it be such a risk if his form in the twos was good? He is not completely hopeless you know. Just saying.
  19. Sadly, but understandably, it appears that Jonesy has been gently placed on the football scrap heap. In view of his magnificent contribution to his beloved Demons, I would hope, that IF we make the Grand Final, he will be named as medical sub. Then, in the last 10 minutes with us safely in front(knowing Melbourne it would have to be at least 8 goals!), one of our boys would be "concussed" and Jonesy given a free run to be on the field when the final siren sounded. What a fitting end this would be to a wonderful career. Thoughts?
  20. Agree. Sam is a major disappointment. Give Ben and Mitch go. Nothing to lose and everything to gain. Mitch is very versatile too
  21. Sam is trying very hard and leading well BUT he has to hang on to those marks. Too many being dropped lately. Jackson too at present must hang on to his marks but boy he is going to be a ripper very soon.
  22. Agree, and he runs down plenty!!! Always thought he was quick but maybe not as quick as those my list. Could be very wrong here.
