When you watch him at the game the first thing you notice is his laziness off the ball. The defensive side of his game needs an enormous amount of work.
You could sense the white flag being raised in that last quarter. Half the players just seemed to toss it in. Whether that's match fitness or attitude who knows, but the game was decided with more than 10 minutes to go even though the scoreboard suggested we still had a chance. This is what I take issue with. Our team is seriously depleted (a little worrying in itself..just bad luck to have this many go down?), but as a supporter I expect 100% effort for four quarters and currently that isn't happening. In fact it's probably only happened in a couple of game thus far.
It is however laughable to say we're at rock bottom. Does your memory extend to 2 years ago?
What did Warnock do to warrant missing the next game? Held his opponent and used the ball well, plus having that mature body helps.
If Grimes is injured then Rivers or MacDonald to come in. Wouldn't be overly sad to see Bater go either, although again a bigger body in the forward line helps.
I agree that over-confidence has been his downfall in the past, but lately his determination to win contests and break tackles seems to be paying dividends.
Quite a few for the highlight reel today and a good time to reflect on a favourite.
For me it was Jonesy's last goal for sure. Shrugging off a couple of would-be tacklers, dummy side step and fires it through from just inside the arc. Beautiful stuff.
Bailey - damned if you do and damned if you don't old son.
I recall this post the first time and laughed. The fact you're standing by it is even funnier.
Currently: Trenners, LJ..and Petterd has potential.
Past: Farmer, Yze and Robbo. Yeah, I'm a sucker for the flashy players. Who cares about substance, bring on the glitz.
