This was discussed on AFL 360 and David King made the point that if the matter is deemed serious enough by the club to strip him of the VC, then it is serious enough for him to be dropped for a week or two. If not, what is the VC actually worth?

On paper that sounds fantastic. The reality is we were tripe asgainst a bottom 2 side. Absolute tripe. And the less said about the majority of the game against the Hawks the better. Massive improvement required this week. I'm quietly confident we'll see it.

At least Roosey had to eat some humble pie (albeit on his son's behalf) about Jurrah being the most overrated player in the competition. As far as game plans (or lack thereof), I'm going to reserve judgement until after this weekend. If we're still struggling against the Suns with kickouts, applying pressure, forcing turnovers, and basically demonstrating we have some sort of structure to our attack and defense, then serious questions need to be asked. Waiting til our premiership window to think seriously about tactics won't cut it as an excuse.

I'm not sure how many opposition fans have cottoned onto it yet, but when they do look out. Really hoping we get rid of it.

The Trenners and Tappy Show (they fight..and bite..they fight and fight and bite..)

Gotta say I'm tired of making excuses for Watts. He's a had a full pre-season and yet seems to have almost gone backwards with some of his skills and decision-making. He simply does not attack the footy the way he should after a couple of seasons under his belt. Needs a stint with Casey to get himself sorted and decide what he stands for as a footballer. Rivers, Jurrah, Gysberts, Jones and Moloney all terrific. Rivers especially reminded everyone what he's capable of when playing to his ability. Last week there were cries for some leadership from the senior playing group. He provided that in spades today. A shining light in an overall disapppointing day.

6 Rivers 5 - Jurrah 4 - Moloney 3 - Jones 2 - Gysberts 1 - Bail

Violent acts towards household items might be in order if we bugger this one up. Needs to be not just a win but a comfortable win.

Once again, thank god for Tapscott. I think Dermott is right on the money with this one. Easy to scoff at Roos' suggestion On the Couch that we should've kept Miller for a bigger body up forward, but there is some merit to it...even if it is Miller.

Scully says that he'll be back round 6. I don't think so

And yet again we see the descension into petty namecalling. Isn't the internet awesome for abusing strangers? Especially ones that folow your own club and whose heart is in the right place. Love it. -
5. Tapscott - BOG is a second gamer..uplifting or concerning? 4. Bail 3. Rivers 2. Martin 1. Davey

Not questioning his ability as a commentator for the record. Seems I'm alone on this one.

Does anyone else wish he'd tone it down sometimes? His partiality towards the Demons is so blatantly obvious that at times it's a little embarassing. He was extremely vocal during that second quarter and kept harping on about our dominance, but was noticeably quiet while we were getting mauled in the second half. Another example was when he talked up Green's mark inside 50 - a chest mark with not a defender in sight. It's nowhere near the open barracking of Robert Walls for Carlton, and he does provide some good insights on individual players that we wouldn't usually get, but as somewhat a representative of the club I wish he'd keep a lid on it when things start to turn our way in a match, cause they can very easily blow up in our face like they did today.

Love it. Ordering one today.

MacDonald and Bartram spring to mind.

6. Moloney 5. Tapscott 4. Bennell 3. Garland 2. Grimes 1. Jamar

Hopefully today will be one of his poorer games for the season. I've noticed he's a good decisionmaker the majority of the time but he does frustrate when he holds the ball up unnecessarily. We can lose alot of momentum going forward when it's in his hands.

Yeah, it's tough to compete with male models like Billy Brownless.

Best not to read too much into pre-season form and let's not put aside the fact they were facing a team that had already played two quarters. That said they did look a very well drilled and professional unit with the older heads having a significant impact. Hunt notably didn't seem to put a foot wrong. Got well in front of his man, won a few contests and kicked with precision. Swallow also looks the goods. With the mix of experience and youth that they have, I would not be surprised at all to see GC finish a couple clear of the bottom. In a few years' time, the mind boggles at how good they might be.

10 goals in front and lose. I want the Colliwobbles to ring loud and proud. I want them to hurt. I want Eddie to cry.

Wrapped for the boys but still gutted that Greeny didn't get a nod. He thoroughly deserved it this season.
-
The wrong teams won in both games though.

The Commander! Great, freak goal. Buddy's better for reasons already stated.

6. Jurrah 5. Dunn 4. Scully 3. Frawley 2. Green 1. Sylvia Hird's reaction to the suggestion of Frawley being AA this year was interesting. Confirmed he was "in contention". My overall reading however was that he wouldn't get picked.

A few shots of him twitching and "spaced out" isn't going to sway anyone mate. When you see a drug addict at rock bottom, it is not a pretty sight. A world away from making a [censored] of yourself with your shirt off. I think the scales in Part 2 need to be heavily tipped to show the full extent of the toll this has taken on his family, and probably even the likelihood of him using into the future and the lengths he will need to go to prevent that from happening. A 25 year old football superstar druggo might seem glamorous and sexy. A 45 year old retiree druggo, not so much.
