I got the same impression. He seems to have that grin on his face alot of the time though. Probably cause he's Ben Cousins. Obviously the intention wasn't to glorify rec drug use but c'mon...he's winning grand finals and getting whisked away for 5 day benders by random hot blondes...all whilst doing ice coke cocktails on the weekends. Alot of people would take a few years of that life over a lifetime of wholesome sobriety. I think it could've done alot more to show to down side to his addiction. Hopefully Part 2 goes some way towards that but I won't hold my breath.

It was a nice touch and will do our membership drive no harm. We're gonna need to keep doing things like this to keep up with Collingwood tactics of handing out Magpies showbags to new Australian residents..

Considering Miller's reputed influence around the club, he should get a farewell game. As much for him as for the younger players. Plus it wouldn't hurt to show the rest of the AFL community we're not quite as heartless as they've made us out to be after the J-Mac saga.

Just get Warnock and Newton outta there. Our 2008 side called and they want them back.

Fremantle... good call or an utter disgrace?

Too bad for the people in Tassie who were treated to a Hawks training session. Other fans would be quick to accuse us of hypcorisy for being critical of such a move, but regardless it definitely didn't sit right with me. No-one wants to see something like that from a top 8 side at the pointy end of the season, and I'm sure the younger players won't have gained too much from the experience other than a good dent to their confidence. They sure as hell better win next week, for Harvey's sake. -

Wow....where to begin..

I can't understand some of the childish namecalling and bickering that goes on at this place. A guy expresses an opinion that he simply doesn't think a player was as good as the stats show and he gets flamed, labelled stupid etc. We all support the same bloody club but you'd think it was the BF Bay in here the way that some carry on. Ridiculous. Anyhow, my votes. 6. Bail 5. Sylvia 4. Frawley 3. McKenzie 2. Bruce 1. Jamar

I actually thought our defense did exceptionally well today considering the amount of pressure they came under. Yes we got smashed at the stoppages, PJ's ruckwork didn't help, and so the ball was parked inside the Hawk's forward 50 for extended periods. But Frawley, Garland, Bartram and Bail (who was definitely in the top 5) fought hard all day and deserve their dues, aside from some occasionally horrendous kicking from Bartram and Garland...and that was when the ball was dry. Although they handled the wet conditions better, it allowed Jordie McKenzie's gutsy head over the footy style of play to come to the fore. He was another highlight. I do think the maggots deserve a mention. Some of those decisions, particularly those against Frawley were laughable. And I disagree with Bailey. I do think Franklin's free in the goal square hurt us badly and put a halt to any momentum we were gathering. But in saying that I think the umps were only one factor in us losing the game.

Martin had glimpses which showed why he was pick 3, though. Any club would gladly take him.

Great having those four names, but our forwardline undoubtedly looks most potent when we push Green up there. He was the key difference in the Swans game. Those other four have a fair distance to travel before we start relying on them to kick a winning score.

What I'd give to have Petterd fit. Automatic replacement for Jurrah after a pretty dismal effort last week. The key word being effort. In: Moloney, Trengove Out: Jurrah, Bail (simply to make room for a clear starter)
-
I can't believe we finally chalked up a win in the white. How long since we had done that..? I think our best previous effort was when we wore it against the Doggies? Not a win but damn close.

I doubt any club would want to look at Kerr to be honest. He's a liability.

Riding on the back of talks about expansion into the ACT, there is a lot of support down here for the team to be called the Rams, as this was the name given to the NSW/ACT U18 side in the TAC Cup. RAMS is basically an acronnym from Riverina, ACT, Murrumbidgee and Sydney. I like the name myself, even if it does share its name with one of the most notoriously hopeless franchises in the NFL. As recent as last week the proposal is for a 10 year committment with a $270 million redevelopment of Bruce Stadium to make it a multi-purpose facility that would essentially replace Manuka Oval. Will be interesting to see where it leads, though they need to put a bit more effort into the ACT4GWS campaign if they are to have any hope of reaching the target of 5000 memberships by the end of September. And no, they would never replace the Dees as my number 1. Would be nice to have a clear number 2 team though.
-
Yeah I kinda gathered that....seeing as he played U18s in 2009.
-
Notice they have a Chris Grant on their team as well. That's a strong list..
-
The Tiges had 3 players on debut last time. They'll be a fairly different article this time around with inclusions like Newman and Cousins. I'd also be alot warier of Dustin Martin who is growing into a very dangerous player when it comes to clearances and winning contested ball.
-
There are few players I enjoy more seeing kick a goal than Cam Bruce. Not necessarily for the aesthetics..
-
Chip will own the ginga this time around.
-
Either him or Bennell, provided he can play like he did against the Swans.
-
I've seen Johnson mention this in a couple of interviews before. Having players such as him and Hird list him amongst their toughest opponents speaks volumes. He looks like a man who is really enjoying his footy at the moment and, fortunately, I see him playing out his career at the MFC.

I'll be perturbed if Frawley doesn't get in, upset if Green doesn't get in, and stunned if Jamar doesn't get in.
