  1. We could be, but I'm beginning to really ascribe to the theory that the Essendon game was the kick up the backside we needed. We dropped off badly that day. Not a hint of it tonight, and hard to see it happening again for a while.
  2. Mate, if it's any consolation. Mrs P after his second set shot miss: "He's not very good is he?" "Who?" "Number 1" *looking around to see if anyone heard her before responding* "Yeah nah, he's usually good"
  3. I have no idea who Andrew Wu is but I'm glad he got a rogering for that. What a dead head.
  4. Maximus Prime. The hard on for this bloke couldn't get any harder. Marking beast. Goal kicking tyrant,
  5. What a night. First game at the G for 2016 and one to remember unless brain cells are killed off. Bring on the rest.
  6. Yep. If captains were selected based on how much of a good bloke you were, Grimes and Trengove would be made co-capta.....oh. i don't disagree with some of those weaknesses. I do think they can be overstated at times. I'll wait with interest to see how he goes over the coming weeks.
  7. He put in a string of decent outings in Round 21-23 last season. As far as placing himself in the shop window, he could've done a alot worse. CIP has runs on the board no doubt. I haven't put a line through Grimes' AFL career just yet, and to borrow a PD phrase, "others can suit themselves".
  8. That surprises me if true.
  9. Would certainly be sad to see a Melbourne tragic like Grimes playing at a different club next year, but if the opportunities dry up, it may be the natural course. I still think he has an AFL career left in him. He'd put in a better showing than half the mob running around for Port right now. If nothing else, you can bank on Richmond picking him up.
  10. In terms of pecking order I see where you're coming from, but the thing with Harmes is he plays a pivotal role in keeping the ball in our F50. He is ranked third at the club for tackles averaging 5 per game. In terms of that horribly overused "playing your role", he's currently right up there.
  11. Agree. It's a bit more your classic Aussie humour and streets ahead of most we've seen in recent times. Mick Molloy was an integral part of the best sketch show Australia has ever produced in The Late Show. A classic case of someone who goes a bit more mainstream media and suffers as a result. Once you are successful, Australians want to bring you down a peg. It's instinctual. That being said, he was genuinely dreadful at the Brownlow. Hopefully Sam Pang continues a bit more under the radar so it remains okay to like him. Very funny fella.
  12. A surprisingly decent article from Robbo. I got from start to finish without cringing once.
  13. Frank and fearless. Cheers mate, much appreciated.
  14. I understand that and if the lesson teaching is no longer coming into the decision, no qualms. The counter point is that he was actually named, and was to play if Garlett didn't come up. So it's not as though he's not deemed to be fit enough, albeit on limited time most likely. It just seems a strange way to have gone about things. I am admittedly keen to see what sort of weapon we have on our hands.
  15. Just a query fellas. nut, I would hope not. Not exactly a hangable offence to begin with in my view. A little silly and regrettable at worst. VFL form and training suggest he's ready to go. If that is the case, and it's not teaching him a lesson, would it not be something of a double standard with Oliver given his opportunity from the off?
  16. So why are they actually holding back Petracca? If it's still about teaching him a lesson I'd be a little annoyed tbh. Enough games. If he's fit, let the boy play.
  17. Imagine the fallout if they select Deledio and he gets injured inside the first ten minutes. It would be epic, even by Richmond standards.
  18. It's Trac time baby. Don't name him and not play him. That's just cruel to all involved. Tigers rushing back Deledio and Maric. Desperate times.
  19. Matter of time I would've thought. You could tell how much the journos enjoy talking to him in his latest presser. Some people are just naturally funny and Max is one of those.
  20. Liked this mainly for for the Roos roleplaying.
  21. Robbo was more laughing at Gerard's gesticulation, rather than the concept of Melbourne making the 8. There's no doubting it was a patronising response and taking into account the question was "CAN Melbourne make the 8?", it wasn't an overly considered response to that question because the answer frankly is yes. It's certainly possible. But I think what Whateley was saying, albeit not communicating it well, was that it's too premature to even be asking the question. Which is fair enough. There's still a lot of ground to cover and a lot to prove.
  22. He's slotted those in the past to be fair. I was actually shocked that he missed it.
  23. I don't recall saying we were a certainty. IF they do the basics well like was done on the weekend, it should be enough.
  24. They have thrown in the towel already on Bigfooty. I'm not nervous because I have newfound confidence in this side and if they do what they did on the weekend they will win and win well. But we're favourites and it's two in a row. So I'm wary.
