  1. Not very hard, but a pretty cheap shot. Nice

Indeed. I'd rather some balanced views instead of the gushing praise that's generally provided.
  3. I felt the need to post in this thread. No.
  4. No. (We'll play finals next year, though).

A quad - or something similar - rings true to me. IIRC he had it in the warmup but thought he was okay.
  6. For sure - I think he's been relatively consistent this season.
  7. Absolutely. Assuming Spencer and Gawn turn out alright we might end up trading one out, because I imagine Jamar could play for a while and the younger guys might be starved of opportunities, Jolly-style. It'll be a good problem to have, though. On Gawn, I've gotta say I love the fact we've got a super-tall ruck prospect.
  8. +1 PS. Anyone looked on Bomber Blitz lately? (This is rhetorical).
  9. I was saying that I hadn't noticed him being a whipping boy...
  10. I agree that they often get sucked up, but there are also centre bounces where we don't even structure up with players deep. I heard that coaches have runners at their disposal - why don't they get sent out to tell the players to get back? What are the 'leaders' on the field doing? I'd also say that Newton was the best of a bad bunch in terms of staying deep, and that includes guys you haven't mentioned.
  11. Bad luck - the Carlton game was pretty ordinary. Hopefully you're not a jinx
  12. I love McKenzie's attitude.
  13. Indeed. It's not so bad to temper expectations at times, although I deliberately didn't post about him after his debut
  14. Haha, absolutely - they were just streaming out at that point. I'm with you - the ball drop was generally a bit diabolical and I wasn't surprised when he missed. On the miss, it brought back memories of Spencer's missed at Etihad versus North (although not quite as embarassing!). However, I'm heartened by reports that at VFL-level he's a reliable kick.
  15. Gysberts was excellent. Our young midfield is pretty exciting!
  16. A bunch of supporters on Demonland seem to be much more supportive of DB because they saw him reflect their emotion after the game. I find this a bit surprising. Putting aside the question of DBs coaching, the scenes after the game indicated that the players - or at least a fair few - have an affinity for DB. I'm pretty sure Moloney actually lifted DB off the ground at one stage!
  17. Rivers was fantastic. I've never disliked Riv, but I have had concerns about where he fits, because he's not a gorilla keeper and - as Jaded and others have mentioned - he can be exposed for pace. He's certainly always had some major strengths to his game, though, and - based on what I saw of the game - was in our best last night.
  18. Does he? I haven't noticed that. As an aside, I think Joel MacDonald is a limited player, but I also think he has some really good attributes. He reads the footy really well in the air and is willing to take the game on when he has the footy. While he probably isn't in my best 22 I don't mind seeing Joel Mac out there.
  19. For anyone interested, check out
  20. This. I liked the fact Evans found the footy a fair bit in his first game and had some dash - I thought he could have had a super debut if not for butchering the footy a bit going inside 50. Guys like Evans are the silver lining to the massive injury woes we've had, since we get some experience into young guys who wouldn't otherwise be playing AFL (and it's something for us supporters on those dark days).
  21. Great call on the game, and great work with the Seinfeld reference.
  22. I know the first post in this thread was a while ago, but the fact they record the audio from the coaches box is pretty interesting. It'd be great to synch up to a replay of the game; I'd love to have that as an audio track on my Demons premiership DVD.
