Jamar + Sellar ------------> Ryder + Bellchambers. Can't be doing that. Couch - been sick for 3 weeks Martin - one game for Casey in 4 weeks and was average Taggert - two games for Casey in 6 months and whilst impressive, very underdone
-
Out: Green In: Bartram
-
Boy we could use Nathan Foley
-
I think Taggert is exactly the type of player we lack at AFL level in the midfield. Ran hard to spread, pressured to intercept, kicked goals and his field kicking was seriously impressive. After he builds his match fitness up a bit, it shouldn't be too long before he gets a call up.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
Brayshaw Self replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
If the AFL is serious about integrity and the F/S process working properly to ensure the sons of guns play for their father's team they should change the rules so clubs can't be forced to use first round picks. It would prevent this situation occurring and the advantage to the clubs receiving the players isn't ridiculous like Geelong drafting Hawkins at 41 and Scarlett at 45 -

The cautious approach is to AVOID chronic problems like Sylvia's. You're contradicting yourself.
-
I'd rather have injury-free 22 year olds with 50 games experience who we were cautious with in their first couple of seasons than chronic injury-riddled 22 year olds who played injured in their first couple of seasons and can't get on the park. Playing kids injured will cost them valuable experience in the long-run. There's no point in compounding minor injury issues for the sake of a few games of experience in their first season.

............or maybe we're being sensible and cautious in our approach to our young players' niggles to avoid complications that are completely unnecessary because we aren't on the verge of a flag.

Koschitzke to miss this week's game. No way Tommy Mac will retain his spot
-
Sunday Footy show just said Markovic is a late withdrawal. If we get enough inside 50s to our talls it will be very difficult for the Bulldogs to prevent them kicking goals

Settle down, Mr. Stevens.

How the hell did Kieran Jack get off but Grimes got done................................................................?

Use the picks on 2 top young mids in this draft then at the end of next season (or this season if we are feeling desperate) terminate Davey's contract/trade him for peanuts. This combined with Green's imminent departure opens up a lot of money to spend on a quality mid. That's 4 (hopefully) good quality mids when you add Viney to the mix

2009 Draft Camp Test Results: Kicking test (six kicks, scored 1-5 points) 1. Gary Rohan 23 points 77% efficiency =2. Dustin Martin 22 points, 73% efficiency =2. Jordan Gysberts Maybe he lacks a bit of composure at the moment but I'm tipping that his kicking will improve with more games. This isn't helped by the fact that he has poor endurance at the moment and that a lot of his possessions are in heavy traffic/contests. With more experience I think his kicking won't be too much of a worry
-
He was the All Australian CHF at the Carnival IIRC, which is why he was worthy of pick 12. There would have been a snowball's chance in hell that he would have been there by our second pick. He had a couple of excellent games for Casey last year which included some good contested marks. In the 2011 Pre-Season he also impressed against Port Adelaide with his leading and kicking skills. This year he is noticeably bigger than when we drafted him. Relax

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAMES SELLAR

Why did Neil Craig play Tippett, Walker, Gunston and Mckernan in front of Sellar? -
Warnock + pick 12 would go close to Dangerfield and would probably be enough to get Sloane but I would think it more likely we just get a second round pick in return for Warnock.

Allow me to be a bit Sherlock Holmesy: In this video posted on the MFC site: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/124846/default.aspx We see Harrington, Neeld, Mahoney, etc. walking around with folders accompanied by a guy wearing an Adelaide polo shirt which strikes me as quite interesting. Upon further investigation I deduced that it is this man: http://www.fiveaa.com.au/lib/images/audio/normal/crows-recruiting-guru-matt-rendell-on-the-2011-draft-pool-677606.jpg He is Matt Rendell, Adelaide's National Recruiting Manager. I think it it most likely that he was there to discuss Matthew Warnock's trade, as we know that an interstate club is in talks with us and combining the above observation with the fact that Adelaide have lost Bock and Davis to the new clubs, this makes Adelaide the most likely destination.
-
I would have thought Adelaide would be quite interested considering the loss of Bock and now Davis. Wouldn't mind Warnock plus a pick for Sloane
