  1. I hope this stays a rumour as Dismall is not the quality we are looking for. His kicking and decision making is lacking and he has had 2 full knee reconstructions on each knee which doesn't bode well for him completeing the required work loads the football department want the players to do during pre-seaon and training. Played a total on zero games last year as well.
  2. Could be a decent backup plan if Rivers leaves
  3. I doubt the Suns will do a deal where they recieve two players for one, they already need to trim backtheir list quite hard as they have to cut it back from 46 to 42.
  4. Adrian Anderson already went through this at the time and with Bailey at the end of last year. Brock better be careful that he doesn't get burnt for bringing the game into disrepute
  5. I don't he is injured at the moment, but I think his history of injuries has resulted in a loss of confidence and continuity. In 2010 his goal kicking was very tight but he seems to have lost that. Could be an important card if Josh Caddy wants to come home as might add a stronger body to the Suns and they were a fan of him. Ricky might need a fresh start.
  6. There is a fine line between earning your games and then getting "free" games I have heard a few of the younger demons such as Jack Watts commenting that they didn't feel that they belonged on teh AFL stage etc. I don't think Bate is a world beater by any stretch and if his form drops should go back to Casey to work on it. BUt I thought mhe should've had a run last night up in Darwin over a few of the other boys that played.
  7. Gold coasts form is picking up, Dees could be ripe for the picking. Beamer must come back into the side next week. Not looking forward to North, seem to beat up on us
  8. Clark makes us look better than we are because he keeps two defenders busy and beats them sometimes
  9. Baileys time at the club but struggling to be convinced by Neeld at this stage. So many players seem to have been told about what they do poorly that they've forgotten what they do well.
  10. His hard running would compliment Jones nicely. Can't tag both at once
  11. I think Bate would've offered more than what Magner, Couch or Pettard have tonight. Petard has played better stuff before though. Bate has similar agility and pace compared to the rookies but at least is a better kick and mark
  12. Good point, but same could be said about Ross Lyon's version of Freo. They have grabbed a good upset win at Eithad against teh Saints and at teh 'G against teh Tigers this year already.
  13. McKensie has a lot of good attributes but he was a liability with ball in hand against the Lions. If he can't give it by hand he struggles. He had 9 clangers aginst the Lions. I would've thought half of them were snaps across his body that went forward 20 -30 metres to an opposition player.
  14. Yeah it seems the media and supporters expect number one draft picks to become superstars but it seems that despite those chances being increased it just means you are going to get a 200 game player. All four ofthose picks were clear number 1s in there draft year
  15. If we finish 3rd last lets just hope the quality of players make that decision easy i.e. two standout players so we know whether to select Viney or not if GWS want to play hardball. I owuld love Viney to the Dees and hope he does make it there but sentiment doesn't win you games of football.
  16. I agree, only looked truly comfortable when playing in teh back half adn not having to play forward or do too much of the ruck duties.
  17. Who is flying up as the emergency? I am surprised that Bail will walk straight into the side after being out for 5 weeks? I didn't think he was a MFC stawlwart. I think he has eperhaps playedone really good game against carlton and a good quarter against the saints.
  18. Cook won't come into teh side before Martin. Martin was the best big man agianst the Zebras on the weekend. He is a bigger body than cook and more likely to crash packs than Cook, That was Clarks role. Also Martin is able to provide Jamar with a rest which is a better option to Sellar in turns of rucking ability and having to reshuffle the backline everytime Sellar needs to go into the ruck.
  19. I know we look at in hindsight but picks 3 and 4 seems to result in some decent picks and pick 1 is not a guarenteed superstar of the comp. I think in a "talented loaded" draft it will be best to keep picks 3 and 4. 2011 Draft Wow - Swallow or Sam Day and Gaff. tough decision. At this stage would probably go for Day adn gaff. 20. Where have you been, Neeld has tried to instill the defensive side into Cales game this year? We have actually witnessed Cale lay some tackles that stick this year. His pressure on Elliot last weekend in the 3 rd quarter that resulted in him missing the goal. Cale wa the only melbourne player within 30 meteres of him and you say he has no defensive skills. I was trying to make the point that Jones used to get lambasted for turnover over the footy by foot and getting caught running on the spot, but he has slowly been reducing that. I believe that Neeld might by able to slowly smooth over a few of Cales rough edges, which has already started to show. It isn't like switching a switch. Also if average disposal effciency in teh AFL is 60% that means 4 out 10 kicks could be clangers. You get 20 touches that is 8 that won't reach an opponent. this can stand out more for a player that kicks more than he handballs and he gets twice the amount of positions than half the players on his team.
  21. Generally you only get a player to leave the club if he wants to go. To get a player that is in the clubs top 22 you need to pay well over and that doesn't always guarentee that they will leave. Mitch Clark wanted to go home to WA and had decided that he was going to leave Brisbane, we only snaffled him because he felt like he had already left Brisbane and the dollars made sense. Houli and Maric left the bomber for Richmond because they were fringe players at the previous clubs adn wanted to be in the starting 18. Kennedy and McGlynn couldn't get games at the hawks so the swans offered them deals and said they would be in their 22. So more likely to get a Swift or Koby Stevens, Kyle Remiers or a player who is struggling to get senior AFL action at his club to jump ship. Otherwise you haev to pay well over which is dangerous for team harmony. Plus would Beams be as good in Melbournes midfield as he is at the pies were he is shielded by Swan, Thomas, Pendulbury etc

  23. Neeld is looking for another marking tall. Pushed Garland up forward adn rivers for a half against the pies. Role si there for Martin. Then Martin can chop out Jamar and Clark just sit up forward. I did notice at teh end of last season that Martin credited his breakthrough season thanks to working during the break, but he said this year he was looking forward to relaxing for 6 weeks. Perhaps a player of MArtins ilk can't afford to relax.
  24. plus teh prospect of playing senior footy and being closer to his home out in Eastern Victoria might help get him across the line.
  25. Last two weeks Sellar has done less ruckwork. Mitch Clark has been providing the chop out for Jamar lately. But I think you are obivously on the money that there is a spot up forward for stef martin or anything big marking forward.
