Why would GWS want Fitzy. They have Patton, Cameron and possibly Boyd after November. Why would they want a Forward who can do small stints in the ruck? They need a ruckman, not another forward.

Players at GWS are starting to get itchy feet. Most of them come from “winning” teams as juniors and getting belted most weeks aren’t fun. GWS have been talking up trading pick 1 to get a class/mature player in. They have talked about getting Buddy all year and I believe they were smug enough to think they had him. I think they then thought that might enable them to get another half back flanker and another mature ruckman. But so far there isn’t much talk of people wanting to go there. Could make for a bit of exodus – so rumour of Shiel wanting out makes enough sense.

Could be worth a roll of the dice. Price will be low as not much interest in him at the moment. GC have some very talented midfielders at the moment, so hard to crack in there. Been in the system for a few years so ready to go. Seems a little jaded, so may work to help with extra motivation to prove people wrong, or he might just be a tool.

Brisbane are struggling to keep several uncontracted young players at the club, therefore I don’t see why Leppitch would be happy to let Rockliff go while contracted? I would’ve thought that Rockliff and Rich would be untouchable under contract, and leppitch would back himself to turn the club around in 12 months so Rockliff resigns. But hey, I guess if he really wants to go, might be better to get the good compensation on offer now before he walks and forces them to take what is the best offer next year.

Cross in for one season with Rodan out

I think we should sign him up to take David Rodans position. I think Rodan was successful at the club. He is a good trainer which helps show the other guys what is required (Tigers players often talk about Ben Cousins in the same way). Cross has played in successful sides and with younger guys so will bring a wealth of experience. He doesn't have to play every game to be successful but I think a one year deal to get a new face into the club and to teach Viney, McKensie et al during training would be good for their development. I wouldn't be given anything up for him tho than a token pick.

If Watts doesnt want to play for MFC I would play him at Casey for last 3 weeks and he can play finals for Casey if he is looking for success.

I am with Watts that Melbourne was meant to be on the up 3 years ago. Problem I think he has is that he doesn't realize that he was meant to be one if tge guys to lead that transition.

Not sure about the wiggle room. If they had approval there would be no investigation into whether players were administered it. we don't need to save money. We are already overpaying players with front ended contracts to meet the minimum of the cap. Plus despite the argument if whether or not he can get better or not he is in our top 22 easily, has 150 games experience and is worth keeping. Which real goer would u realistically get that would make MFC better?0
