  1. Does anyone know what the FD want Cale Morton to work on? I thought that it was good that they didn't rush him straight back into the seniors. I am one for you being dropped adn playing a couple of games in teh reserves to build your confidence and show that you can perform consistantly etc. No point yo-yoing up adn down. I hope he gets back on track, I really enjoy seeing Morton at full flight. His run and carry moves teh ball 60 metres at a time.
  2. Astbury for the tigers might pip him. Played well at CHB for the tigers. If he keps this form up though he will get one sooner rather than later
  3. Tough not to give him a second game. His form for Casey was good and that should be rewarded. Whether he is good enough to stay in teh side is up to him
  4. And only playing half a game? Hopefully over the next month he can build up to 4 quarters of football, play one or two games in the Casey seniors then get a token game (if his body is ok/form doesn't warrent it) to show him the pace etc of AFL to wet his appetite and to add extra motivation during teh pre-season for next season.
  5. Andrew Gaff would be a good addition to the midfield though. We need to give the younger players time to take over. As soon as Moloney/Davey etc struggle we seem to loose and they haven't been able to have consistant positive performances lately (bar QB clash).
  6. “Apparently Jonathon Brown held a bbq for the players and partners to celebrate Fevola's 200th the day after they lost to Richmond at the Gabba. After a few frothies and a sausage each it's alleged Fevola put the word on one of players mrs (not sure who's) and sh!t has hit the fan. Brown then put the word on Fevola and they went toe to toe in Brown's back yard.”
  7. Yep it reminded me of when he got crunched by Hamish McIntosh against North. The good thing about that incident was that he knew that he was going to get hammered and it semed that he actually went in harder knowing this. Can't wait for him to get more confidence so that his decsion making gets better....but still showing good signs.
  8. Becarefull just quoting selected stats as a player that handballs to targets is probably goign ot have a higher percentage than a player that kicks a lot. Plus when you compare what Grimes and Davey do with teh ball, where Grimes plays as a quaterback and does get a few kicks goign sidewides which may be easier to hit opposed to Davey who is generally running through the middle under pressure hitting up a target that is underpressure i.e. less room for error.
  9. I like your thoughts about Davey playing deeper but you must remember that the opposition would then try to target their play through Davey to make him accountable adn maybe even drag him to teh goal square i.e. where he would be a liability defensively and too deep to hurt teams. That is where Grimes has a better defensive and spoiling game and doesn't get beaten too often. They just need to keep teaching Strauss to compete better one-on-one in te VFL against men and then hopefully his more natural attacking game will come out once he gets the confidence
  10. Gysberts has shown to have potential as a clearance player. Probably better than McKensie at it. McKensie does apply great pressure around stoppages though
  11. They rejected Ports first rounder last year adn Warnock is looking like he isn't the real deal so migh be harder to get him from Carlton unless he wants to leave
  12. I honestly don't think the Tigers will give up Mitch Morton. Hardwick rates him in his topp 22. IT just looks like he is out of favour becasue Hardwick wants Mitch to learn to run through the middle of the ground more to add another string to his bow. BUt he is pretty thick so it will probably take a while.
  13. I think he is in theory, just not putting the pressure on to force his way into teh team with his performances at the VFL which have been adequate but not game defining
  14. Josh Fraser isn't ready to go next year either. No point picking someone up who is no better than the current crop of players we have. Plus Fraser is injury prone, can't string a month of good football together if he can't even stay on the park adn train for a full month
  15. Fitzpatrick will be looked at out of the goal square...not a bad gambe at 50
  16. A bit unfair - you can only play a max of 2 rucks in a 22, perhaps Hawthorn only wanted 2 tall forwards. Gary Ablett snr springs to mind, could get a game with Dunstall and Dermie int eh side so left for better oppurtunities and we all know what happened next
  17. Brisbance have extra room in their cap as they didn't resign Bradshaw...I think they will have a big crack at him. By the way if Butcher is gone and Tapscott or Melksham is still their I would take them over Black and pick up Thorp PSD
  18. I agree, it doesn't hurt to get him into the club and see where he is at and what he is about. Was highly rated as a potential big forward only 2 years ago. He has struggled for injury but at teh same time the Hawks did play him down back a lot which may not hav esuited him. If the club do decide that he has good qualities and is fit and that they will take him in the PSD I believe that it may also help us out in the ND as pick 11 or 18 may let us still pick up the best available as opposed to being forced to go for a KPF as we will be getting Thorp.
  19. Hype is being built for this guy, a late selection in the ND or rookie is all that he is worth. He does have great athletic ablity but that is it at this stage.
  20. If he ca't get a game in Geelong's weakest area probably not worth a look
  21. Jeff White was also rated highly and was a number one pick. All of the options spoken about to be picked up aren't good ruckmen. They are the best in this draft pool but clubs don't really rate their ability atm.
  22. Not yet...but could be once he breaks the double digits in games
  23. It is fair enough, The Tigers have been tenants at teh 'G since they left Punt Road and then they lost fixtures from the 'G once the 'G guaranteed an extra 100k per home game because clubs like North etc started to request more games moved from teh Dome to the 'G. So why should any on the 'G tenant clubs be punished for stupid deals other clubs did with the Etihad
