  1. I would've thought that Bail would've been a more likely out than Morton. Morton gopt involved in the play more. Bail tackles slipped, his turned the ball over terribily by foot but he seems to be a few peoples golden child because his a late draft pick perhaps
  2. Robert Nahas destroyed Bartram today, played on him for most of the day adn Nahas had 11 score involvements for the game. He ran rings around our side. I have to disagree there.
  3. He was alright at Casey last week. Not the best but had a better game than tapscott (at Casey last week that is)
  4. People focus on his weakess being contesting etc, but that is what the bigger bodies are in the team for. WE get smashed on luncontested footy atm, something that was his strong point. Shouldn't the club be pushing him to help balance the team in that respect. Was good to see him hit a lot more targets apart from one big gaff when he spotted up a tigers bloke on our forward 50. definately not in our bottom 4 from today though. Hopefully Neeld rebuilds him into a player who contributes positively to the team week in.
  5. I hope it is exhaustion from putting extra work at training during the week....and that is why we are shot after half time...geez I hope that is the case
  6. Malcolm blight coached one season at north, then lost a couple of GF to teh hawks with Geelong. He didn't taste premiership glory until his 3rd club...winning two for the crows. The cats had some very talented players as well. He did hoever burn teh saints a little later on however....
  7. Maybe the leadership group don't want stay 12th on the ladder adn won't to continue to improve they have decided to make a pact to try to raise the standards. Telling the young guys what is good enougha and what isn't a bad thing.

  9. thanks for teh detailed update. Perhaps he was just shot from the lift in intensity and he got some glucose/hydration tablets.
  10. I just hope David Hale is a band aid to cover up a massive crack. Ben Holland was bought into the club in the same way. Wallis did it with the Tigers as well. After the football department have been so focused on teh goal of building a well rounded team I find it a funny decision. fair enough if we were in teh top six but fact is we are in teh bottom six.
  11. Dissapointing that he only made a commitment to teh Dees a month ago, but you can't expect to hold onto assistant coaches for ever
  12. 13. I agree that despite teh talent on teh list their is still a long way to go being a premiership side (as per St.Kilda's slow build up etc) but Collingwood do actually have quite a few high draft picks running around for them. They also have a couple of priority selctions as well. here is a quick look of some from teh last 10 drafts (4 priority selections) Josh Fraser: 1999 AFL Draft priority selection (Collingwood) No. 1 overall Luke Ball: 2001 AFL Draft priority selection (St Kilda) No. 2 overall; Dale Thomas: 2005 AFL Draft priority selection (Collingwood) No. 2 overall Scott Pendulbury: 2005 AFL Draft 1st round selection (Collingwood) No. 5 overall Alan Didak: 2000 AFL Draft priority selection (Collingwood) No. 3 overall Danny Roache: 1999 AFL Draft 1st round selection (Collingwood) No. 7 overall Ben Reid: 2006 AFL Draft 1st round selection (Collingwood) No. 8 overall Nathan Brown: 2006 AFL Draft 1st round selection (Collingwood) No. 10 overall Chris Egan: 2004 AFL Draft 1st round selection (Collingwood) No. 10 overall Steele Sidebottom: 2008 Af; Draft 1st round selection (Collingwood) No. 11 overall Richard Cole: 2001 AFL Draft 1st round selection (Collingwood) No. 11 overall
  14. Wonna is a natural crumber. I can understand that Djerrkura couldn't get in the side when Stokes, Varcoe and Burns are up adn running but he didn't even push for selection when Stokes was suspended at the start of the year. Not sure he is what we require, the small forward roles we have plenty of depth in.
  15. Imagine Bartrams defensive ability, tackling, running, competiveness with Strauss's kicking abilty....hmm seems like Bartram has a few more plusses to his name at this stage.
  16. Sounds good. If Grimes had maybe played a similar amount fo games as Morton had he might have been a chance, but playing under 50 games makes it tough. Not due to lack of ability but ability to get on teh park due to his back/hamstring/quad injuries the last 3 years. Cam Bruce id teh Vice Captin and was in charge when Jnr was out so he would have to be the fron runner, but a lot can change from when he was made VC two years ago.
  17. This is a good point, the amount that we improved over the season has been far greater than any other club (except maybe the toiges). The dees have a much greater range of improvement to their team physically and mentally/confidence than the Hawks. I am not too worried.much
  18. If Dean needs junkyard I wouldn't like Laidley to be there for 12 months to paper over some of Baileys cracks then when we think we are in for a tilt for the top four in 2012 Laidley has left exposing Baileys flaws. I prefer to find out if Bailey can keep taken the dees forward in the final year of his contract with his hand picked team
  19. they might be waiting for the players to go on their pre-season holidays i.e. no point have a couple thousand people truding through the offices and gym etc when the players might be trying to use teh facilities and/or staff are busy trying to get the team up each weekend. Plus I don't believe the facilities are 100% completed. They may be waiting to finish it all up first.
  20. When we played them earlier this year and teh game was there to be won at the start of the 4th quarter Scott through Wells into the center and he did some great clearance work and willed his side to win. I think he would be better he in a better side, but injuries ahve stopped him from performing at his peak
  21. I just hope that he goes out on his terms. COuld it be good for him to leave the club after having a good year unlike Brad Johnson who has struggled to get on teh park this year for instance.
  22. Jamar took a heavy knock in the game during a marking contest, needed to eb seen by the trainers. Seemed to not move as freely from then on so maybe he was on teh bench becasue he was struggling? (Plus we weren't forced to put him on because PJ was competing.
  23. He seems to struggle with leadership i.e. not always in the leadership groups, Bruce took over captancy while Juniors been injured. Provides good leadership for the team though trough his actions on teh field which shouldn't be underestimated or confused with being a possible future captain.
  24. Sydney FC are offering all ex-socceroos and one guest free memberships for life. I was wondering if MFC should do something similar with ex-players that played 100 games plus etc. Good to keep players around the club, even at a distance. Great to help build the passion for future father-son-draft picks perhaps.
  25. I think it will be good if we push to make the finals, but if we make it teh players adn the coaching staff and the general public may all get ahead of themselves like Essendon did last year when they scraped into the finals with 10 wins, a draw and 11 losses.
