  1. Port will fire up. They just don't like the cold and wet. But still we better win.
  2. With Mohr its all about disposal from what I've seen of him. Big enough, super quick and likes to run with the footy, the question is do you back your coaches and him to work together to get those skills up.
  3. Is there a breeze favouring one end? (ie the end Casey had in the first)
  4. Bate playing well in the wet. The sky is falling. Hope some of the others are playing well as well. Tapscott for one.
  5. I'm not a Malthouse fan either. At West Coast he coached a team of freaks, it would have been hard to lose. With this current Collingwood team he's been fantastic and whilst he's got the best group of players he is certainly getting everything out of them. They are the best coached group of players as well. However it took him 10 years, he won't get 10 years at Melbourne without a flag to show for it. But I feel at our club he would miss all the wonderful things he's had - gun recruiters, expensive assistant coaches, stand alone VFL team, sports science directors, Arizona etc. If we can't poach Clarkson, I'd think about Roos but I'd like to know how his philosophy has involved modern tactics and isn't just one v one, and then have weigh up who's out there in the assistant ranks. I'd probably try and do it all undercover and hope to reappoint Bailey if nothing is doing.
  6. There should be 3 spots for the following players in Darwin: Macdonald (depending on fitness), Morton, Blease, Bennell, Bartram, Tapscott Old fashion playoff for selection. I'm going for Macdonald (recover from injury), Tapscott and Bennell.
  7. Usually can float them through from 50 so I'm not sure whats up with that. His field kicking is ugly but usually not horrible. He'll never be a great kick but can still make it as a very good player. It's probably the reason he plays half forward and not half back.
  8. If he does I hope he knows what he's getting into. Look at Houli and Grigg, they aren't better footballers at all this year, they are just getting regular games in a worse side. There flaws are still there. If Maric wants that he can have it. If he really wants to be a better footballer he'd try and get to a real club or stay at Melbourne if he has faith in our coaches/we get new coaches.
  9. Dom Tyson - oh parents can be so cruel with the names they give their children.
  10. Put simply. Stop turning it over when he gets it. He'd benefit so much by playing in a functional forward line.
  11. Davey a chance for Darwin? I wouldn't think so but who knows. Hopefully we pick Aussie back up in Darwin, I thought this game would be the deciding point on whether he rejoins us or not. Fingers crossed.
  12. Agree with everything except the last bit. Teams put serious effort into Judd which certainly makes Murphy's job easier. If he played for us he'd get the hard tag every week which considering his age and skill set I think take some shine of his performances.
  13. Your description of Murphy is a perfect description of Gibbs!I rate them both. Murphy has been great this year and tore us apart, however he does have that look of front runner about him. The only way he'll shake that is performing in finals, which he may well do this year.
  14. The only way fairest comes in is that the umpires often don't like dirty players and players who constantly argue for free kicks.
  15. Luke Saville put a major dent in English pride which is always nice.
  16. Man the chicks who tried to give them to me weren't even hot. That's an outrage. And as if I would bet with dogsbet. But to the girls on QB'day - thankyou for the fishermens friends, they were nice.
  17. Is it easier to do the fail list? Davey - Struggled to impact in games and then had the shocker against the saints were everything went bad Green - Ordinary start to the year, then played out of position and then found some form. But still too many missed goals, too many poor attempts to draw a free and not enough relentless attitude in his game Not sure if he counts as senior but Dunn has also been disappointing.
  18. I like it when he starts as our 6th forward, and then is given the freedom to play wherever he best suits the team. If the backline needs help clearing the ball then he moves up the ground, if more forward pressure is required then he stays forward. As a small defender it's ok if he's playing on a spud, but not so good if he's manning up a dangerous opponent. Can't wait to have him, Tapscott and Bail back.
  19. Happy to have Maric in for Bennell. I just refute the fact that he's been lazy. He's gone from a defender to a sub, then to a forward. He's confused! He needs a solid run in a position again to see his best form. I don't like labelling players lazy.
  20. Bennell hasn't been lazy. He's worked very hard. He's had the occasional soft moments but his biggest problem in the last few weeks has been constant change of position. Jurrah has been particularly lazy in the last month. We have to decide whether the week off can fix an injury of whether he needs to be dropped. The alternatives are Dunn. Maric and Bate.
  21. Whilst it wasn't clear you would think they would mention the players if that was the case. I can't believe a spectator went on to try and have a go at Fev. Sure Fev is a moron but this guy makes Fev look like a genius.
  22. Sounds like Maric and Tapscott are putting their hands up for Bennell and Morton's spots. Let's see if Dunn can make a claim for Jurrah's spot as well next week. Although dropping Jurrah for a Darwin game might be hard.
  23. 1. Hit in harder to win first possession 2. Better balance between players at a stoppage. Too many running in similar directions (including forward). Disappointed with the efforts of Scott West in this regard. We are at best an average clearance team and that disappoints me. Jamar - Moloney seems the only trick. Next time we are having a big win I'd like to see Moloney play forward pocket and have a few of the younger guys get into the middle.
  24. After years of giving kids tough jobs and seeing them stand up, it now seems strange that Bailey is unwilling to throw a few of the next brigade some tougher assignments. But I do understand the Morton playing tall on the likes of Barlow and Grant and Garland locking down on Gia. It would have been my initial move as well. Possibly next week Strauss can have a tougher assingment, and Morton can not be playing.
  25. Took over Goldspink's old number. Pretty much sums up that he umpires for the ego.Still not the worst in the league. Ray has the worst personality but isn't a shocking umpiring (but gee he pisses everyone off). The bald guy is actually the worst. Just plain incompetent.
