Unfortunately some do get hurt during pre training & training.. Injuries do happen even when unexpected. Just hope they are minimal,as we deserve to have a less injury year, although last year wasn't to bad. No majors- so we can be very happy with that.
Chris Grant- Western Bulldogs-Grant was recruited by the Footscray Football Club (now Western Bulldogs) in the 1988 VFL Draft at pick number 105, and played his first AFL game in 1990 at the age of 17. Grant kicked 51 goals that season, the youngest player in VFL-AFL history to achieve this feat, to be the leading goalkicker for the club.Very stiff not to win a Brownlow- I think he was robbed by the league.
No ruddy idea- I have been spruiking for many years and I had never ever had heard of him. And not many did till the article. I'd pick up at 12 --Keast if he nominated.I know him and watched him towel up Watts in a School game at CHB. I should not say towelled him up but I think he beat him on the day.
Enforcer- sincerely good effort- it is a very hard thing to do and very time consuming.Credit where it is due..but for picking draft picks- forget it it..if we got your draft pick as being correct- I think I would bar myself from the site for at least two weeks. RR or HT would not even get a look in. Good effort though. Well done.
RR- Fair point. And thanks for letting me know HT's accommodation- I thought as much- only rassin. Please tell me is he a bunny? a hare? or a skunk? Again- only rassin.I hope this Bruce thing is sorted out -so we can all get on with it.
May need WJ - to comment- but as contracts go- and I've completed many and Ill bet you what ever you like a verbal agreement sticks. However, it does seem he has agreed with basic terms but has not signed over money. He has however agreed to a one year contract I'm told. He'll be there Monday- do you want to put your house on it- as I will put mt tin shed on it. Therefore put your money where your mouth is. If not get of my case.
Don't forget Cam did not have a good pre season last year- he basically did not train after Xmas- therefore to see him Monday- will be great- nearly worth the extra I think and even a two year contract if needed. He will be great for at least another year with the kids.
What does our young experienced team need: The main thing I feel is quality experienced coaching. With Viney & Royal-I think we have them. What else we need to do is get an experienced part time coach for defence and part time forward coach- and I will be delighted.Surprise choice but I think a very good one.
Again- my information-says he agreed last week.To me a verbal agreement is the same-a commitment.Bailey did not say he hadn't signed it either by the way- just said he expected him to be there on Monday next. When he is-- then I expect an apology.
I think it is too early for this to happen. We only started training for the younger players today- older next week with a rest I think for Green & Frawley- maybe in a couple of weeks. Late November I'd expect invitees if any....I hope James Wall is one.
I would agree- however may consider playing him as a back pocket- doing ruckwork in defence.I still believe we will get another experienced back up to Jamar as security.
I'd take Darling because he would fit straight in-Lynch- a longer term player will need a couple of years,IMO,due to lack of stamina.Smedts- I like but I feel we have four players still to debut- 2 of them -Blease and Tapscott could be competition straight away to Smedts along with Strauss, Bennell and the like. Whilst we need a Smedts type as a back up- I feel pick 12 - should be the best tall available- that is our current need. And that is why we traded Cheney I would have thought.
