Ultimate Footy - Norm Smith League
jayceebee31 replied to Old Man Rivers's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks but I would sincerely like Range Rover to stay not for just this year but also beyond. Before next season, OMR ,please explain to me, what the hell this keepers league is all about.Do we retain four players then pick two young one's born in 1992, and what happens if we all want the same players? -

I can assure you I am not going to read 655 posts of crap- Also, I think it is a compete joke in doing anything till at least end of season. We have kept changing the rules from one year to the next..why change at all. I think it is becoming bloody ridiculous. is enough is enough. If you want me out as well- just let me know. We brought in new draft picks last year which I believe we're fair and reasonable. Why don't we just do as the AFL does, drop of at east 3 picks and go from there.Or at least wait till end of season, then let us all have our thoughts and work out what we all want. -

Hi All, as stated in an earlier post, I do not understand what the hell is going on re a keepers league. Why in hell do we need change and NOW.One of the greatest challenges and skills required is being a great draft picker. Why don't we do the same as this year.If not please JA explain what is what you propos and why? I cannot agree or disagree until I know what the JC is going on. Please advise- Many thanks & I also want to say RR ,you have been with us from the start ,hang in there. Don't do a JCB-( dummy spit, just yet, please don't disrupt te league, you are above that. and furthermore, why o why do we need to make decisions now.We are not even half way into this season. This [censored] is really hurting a good thing. Please all as OMR stated, let's keep our shirts on ,cool down and let's put up possible changes at year end. Then who decides to stay in, or goes then they can decide their plight. -
Garland a forward, Watts a backman and Grimes a midfielder?
jayceebee31 replied to Curry & Beer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Play Garland on a wing, That is his right position. Watts at back, is a great learning curve which will only teach him which the experience will give him great confidence.Grimes, totally needed inthe guts and we all have forgotten about LJ, what a difference he'll make when available?Agree re Gys & Strauss.A making of a good team, need to get a top CHF , two quick outfield mids(wingers), a small forward and we are there.. -

I tend to agree, unless convinced otherwise do the same as this year. -
Garland forward [originally posted in April]
jayceebee31 replied to GRUN DEE's topic in Melbourne Demons
I like your thoughts re a swinging forward to nullify the likes of Fisher etc. but I have been saying for year's now, he is an ideal winger as well as I have been saying Grimes should play in the guts. -

We cannot keep changing for the sake of things or we will end up the laughing stock of Ultimate footy or indeed be classified similar to the AFL. Leave it as it is, call the same draft as this year. Or do as the AFL does, and leave the lists as is, but make it that all coaches have at least 3 picks. I came from 13th this year , therefore it does not fuss me greatly, if indeed we have to change for the sake of it. However, would hate to bastardise our league, just for change sake. This is another reason to have a commission, get 3 heads together to set the rules to take place. Now, during the bye time would be great. Last years winner D/land 7 should also make comments revthis matter of drafting as he has seen the top , one year and the bottom next. So, for the longetivity of this league, some very serious thinking needs to take place but note, I would very much like to keep things similar. No downgrading of coaches to another league, I agree with OMR & RR in this instance. -

Fair critiscm , however, being 19 in front of OMR, before the start of this round and without being smart, big lead I anyone's opinion I would believe.Congrat's to another mod-Wrecker in beating me this week,by a FD & 2 Handballs. See ya later on. -

Even being away for the last 5 weeks in Asia, I am still on top of the league and 10 in front in the tipping comp.I am sprouting now, as I expect to be thumped this week by another mod, the Wrecker, they just hate me these mods.Want to destroy an old soul like me.Another point fellow coaches, we need to take stock before next year and make sure we agree with all the rules and sundry before we move ahead. JA has done an outstanding job IMO, however sets of broths along with very close friends offering pathetic and underhanded trades needs investigating before we move head. This is a great game, but needs to have scrutiny in place.Maybe we need a league committee, with say, RFPC and Lower Deck ( HT ) as panel members. Take care all- and take joy of the whipping I get this week , because it will be the last.I will not give your look in after the break. -
Totally agree- hasn't been up to it all year.Garland is another that may need to strip for Casey as well.Sellar doesn't cut it, Martin to Come in if fit,if not- Fitz, Couch deserves a crack as well.

Thanks my friend- lucky to get away with it, however, just a kick away from gaining more points through my kicking. Glad you kept your main ruckman - however you need to do some other trading to get your H/b, marks, tackles up,think you need to try to get rid of a decent forward for a good tackler handballer.I have one- whom will play next week Thomas from Port Adelaide..give me an offer for a trade. -

Smartie pants...my daughter posted this whilst I am away in Japan ascI couldn't gain Wifi at the time. -
What crap-.Avalon airport is only 30 minutes from the ground & Melbourne to Geelong is only an hour down the highway...get real!
-
Agree with your thoughts. I hope Sheehan keeps up his good start to the season as well.I feel he has a bright future along with Cook whom hopefully keeps on improving after gaining further fitness.

Didn't realise Geelong is interstate !

18 months ago, he nearly beat Collingwood practically of his own back. But, he missed a mark with seconds to go.Since then, he got injured and has not regained that form.He started as a winger, HBF,HFF,FF,therefore, now it up to him to settle in the one position and go for it.I think his best is a HFF role, but like others it is now he has to perform. If not he will be trade bait.

I think you have a great list, but I agree need some forwards, you are an excellent coach .Having a good ruckman as well as Kruezer really helps big time.I hope to meet you again in the finals.Best of luck for the rest of the year.Without crying, loosing Hille, in the first week, Ball & Gray also out for the year - all in the first 5 weeks has been hard. However, one thing has been good for me-.I am out there well in front in the Tipping. -
Trengove has virtually been not sighted this year.Grimes,as stated is injury prone. Therefore in the leadership group, the player that has consistently put it together has been Jones.Do you dispute this? Jones & Clark would be so far I front in our B& F, it is a joke that the others are so far behind.Frawley is having another wretched year so far, Bartram has played his best game last week for the year.Garland has had a poor year so far IMO.
-
I think we have a ready made small back an in Bail, we don't need another ruckman unless Jamar goes and we think Spencer and Fitzpatrick aren't up to it.We need Pendlebury types. Two or three would do me.I feel we have the talls to develop. We have the forwards, we have the in and unders re Magner, Jones, Couch & Taggart to develop further but we are desperate to find outliners,re wingers or outside mids.I also agree re Garlett,I feel he is worth the risk.
-
This guy should be captain IMO.Trengove has done nothing this year, lucky to be holding his spot.Grimes is just injury prone and should just concentrate on his game.

Dermie and Robert Walls on SEN
jayceebee31 replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wasn't Walls on the selection committee that gave Bails the job in the first place. If so, can understand why he supports him.
